The This Week In Tech (TWIT) and Security Now ones are the casts I hang out for each week. Lots of good techy mumbo jumbo plus TWIT is funny as hell. I'm using POD Nova to automatically download whe podcasts I want. Works realy nicely. POD Nova

I've run shoutcast off my personal connection before, but my home bandwidth wouldn't allow for decent quality streaming to more than one or two people at a time. Lets get some serious ideas flowing and see what happens.

RULER!!! Posts: 8,915 Group: Members Member #4 Joined: February 12, 2006	Download Systm - Episode 4 for a pretty good guide to podcasting stuff. Needs a bit of cash up front for stuff like microphones that don't sound like you're pissing into a tin can and stuff, but ebay is good for that sort of thing. Googletalk or Skype seem to be the go for doing the linkups, though they work best if each person also records their own high quality MP3 and they get aggregated using something like Audacity or Adobe Audition after the actual recording has been done. www.cachefly.com has some VERY nice hosting stuff at good rates, but I haven't a clue about the 'rss' stuff. It just looks scary.

I was also beginning to think about maybe making available via bittorrent if bandwidth became a problem. I have a couple mics over here that would probably be good enough for what we would do. I think the technical aspect of it won't be anywhere near as difficult as the content aspect. I'm pretty sure between the group of us we can pull it off if we can develop some content. Any good ideas?

Its funny the 1st or 2nd time, but then it gets old real quick unless the ppl involved are fucking brilliant (like me). There are services like feedburner that do all the rss'ing, not sure whats costs are involved though. As for a URL, we could continue to use www.thebanclan.com and I could simply link it to a main title page with a few options like "go to forums", "POD Casts" etc etc.

Los Angeles Posts: 1,601 Group: Members Member #9 Joined: February 13, 2006	I have a few decent mics of my own, a decent old mixer and software to make shit go on several computers that do good sound... basically a recording setup here. Don't really use it at home much (the cobbler's kids need shoes), but I could hook it up to make quick narrations and stuff, maybe lay in a bit of Johnny's soundz, what the hell! I'm a fuckin sound engineer after all... :lol:
