This isn't a piece of hardware, its a book. But I guess this is as good a place as any to comment on it. While I'm poor and couldn't afford to buy it, and much to my girlfriend's dismay I stood in the book store and read this for a couple hours today. It is truely an amazing book for anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of pen testing their network looking for security flaws. There isn't anything new in the book or something you can't find online, but if you don't even know where to start I highly recommend it. Experienced "security professionals" (wink wink) won't find too much new ground covered within it's pages, but those just starting out will gain valueable insight to point them in the right direction while beginning to search online. I think it also comes with a copy of Auditor, the Live Linux CD geared towards pen testing networks. All this being said, I highly recommend some sort of formal training/education in basic network principles before attempting anything described in the book, especially if you're going to "play outside." http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/159749021...=283155&s=books |

I study network administration. Hopefully I'll be graduating in the next couple of years, but I only go part time in the evenings. |
