I have a minor pain in my ass and I was wondering if I could get some input on the situation. Where I work at we have assigned areas we are supposed to work in. There is one person who just cannot seem to grasp this concept and will work in another person's area until it is so cluttered up the place is a mess, then moves into the next person's area and does the same thing. He started doing it to me today and it drives me crazy. If I were a few years younger I'd deck him in the middle of the shift. The boss was recently demoted into his position and doesn't seem too interested in enforcing company policy and getting the guy out of my way. My question is, does it even matter? I can just go work somewhere else, I suppose, but why should I? That is where I am supposed to be working. I've worked there nearly every day for two years. Am I just being territorial or do you think I should physically remove him? I'm not without the means to be physically persuasive when I have to. I would just prefer not to act like that.

So is this twit working in an area he isn't assigned to? Remind me again what you do (work wise). |

How about eating a two pound bean-egg-onion burrito every morning before you go in??? |

Yeah, but I'm really not a violent person like that. Like today, for example, I just went and took over the foreman's area. He got the message, I think. If not, I'm sure when he figures it out I'll pay for it. Which is lame, considering its an indirect effect of his own inefficient management skills. I need a new job. |

Give him a welding flash next time he comes near ya, and get him ta sign a document stating that any injuries he may incur whilst working in your area will be his responsibility as he is breaking the companies risk management protocols by working in your designated area and you dont appreciate having your workers compensation put at risk because he is not following the health and safety guidelines on safe work practices, as laid down in the policies and procedures manual. Can ya tell I used to be the union rep. Safety is the only area that the employer and employees can stop work for at any time until the problem is rectified.

Yeah, this is the same job I was fed up with at sysopt. Since then I've gone back to school to get the hell out of there, but still haven't found any other work. So while my situation has been improving in that respect, and my employer does seem pretty willing to cooperate with me and be somewhat flexible with my hours, my coworkers have been extremely difficult to work with. I work with a lot of hillbillies, you know the type, that had difficulty passing their shop classes. Some of them never finished high school. Which I guess is ok and everything since they have a trade they work at and can feed their families, but god damn do they get shitty with anyone who can read or write. For the time being I enjoy knowing that when I graduate I'll have a job that helps people like them hit the unemployment line. |

This shit is a constant problem no matter where you are. Just be clumsy when he is around and sit back and relax knowing you are better, smarter, stronger, etc. ![]() PS if you're using gas it should be easy to spray him with molten steel. |
