"Certainly, somebody at the moment is trying to provoke a civil war in Iraq. Someone wants a civil war. Some form of militias and death squads want a civil war. There never has been a civil war in Iraq. The real question is: who are these people who are trying to provoke the civil war?" "The Sunnis are not fighting the Americans because they don’t have power and they’re not fighting the Americans just to get them out - and they will get them out eventually. They are fighting the Americans so that they will say, “We have a right to power because we fought the occupying forces and you, the Shiites, did not,” which is why it’s very important to discover now that Moqtada al-Sadr, who has an ever-increasing power base among the Shiite community, is himself threatening to fight the British and Americans. Now, if the Shiites and Sunnies come together, as they did in the 1920s in the insurgency against the British, then we are finished in Iraq. And that will mean that Iraq actually will be united." And until we go old school and whoop the holy hell out of them like we did Japan, Germany, and Italy in WWII we will have accomplished nothing. |

Cycles of violence are playing out. It cannot be stopped, unless, the population is disarmed. No one hoping for a peaceful outcome has the balls to sort it. Every country in the region can benefit from the chaos. |

What fuckin idiot starts a war with no plan for keeping the peace when the war is won, we all know the answer to that. How stupid do ya have ta be, to think the people will welcome invaders. How stupid do the people who live in democracies have ta be, to re-elect leaders this stupid. |

Maybe not just plain stupid, but ignorant. It's common knowledge that most Americans, even the ones who know this fact, are barely informed on anything. How many people really know what radiation is? Other than "Oh it's bad." Seriously, there are so many people that don't know shit about what's going on, and don't vote. Then there are the others, who don't know shit about what's going on, and vote for whoever their family or friends say to vote for. And normally, they don't know all that much about what's going on either. Honestly, for me to find any information on whats going on in the world, I have to look on the internet. Because out there, it just isn't available. The media is too busy trying to see if Jennifer Lopez trips in public, or if the president has an affair. !? Who the fuck cares!! Fucking degenerates. (This coming from an 18 yr. old; shows just how ignorant people are.) Even I wish I were better informed, but for me to get any information, I have to literally search for it myself, on the net. |

We will always be out numbered by the fuckwits, who believe the shit they are told by the govt, Aust, UK and the USA are all in the same position, leaders who managed to dodge serving in a war and have no idea about it but want to play soldiers, all who were re-elected after we knew the fucking mistakes they made getting us into this thing, unfortunately the wrong people get killed in wars, politicians should be held accountable for there mistakes, but it'll never happen, war is an obscene mistake that should not be allowed unless to defend against actual invasion, like the Iraqis are doing, lets hope we are not stupid enough to invade Iran. |

l don't think it a huge leap of logic to assume that the Iranian position viz advanced nuclear development is a part of the puzzle. If they determine to 'damn the torpedos, full speed ahead' , then positioning to retaliate outside their borders is an option that must at least have been reviewed. A full blown 'Fuck u all' support of factions within iraq would do an awful lot of damage. The political fallout cannot be assessed other than to say it will be unmanagable for our forces. lran does not appear able to compromise. What looked like supreme brinksmanship appears now as pure folly by them. They just don't get it. |

I just said this in another thread, but it applies here to, for the American part of the discussion anyway. Unlike 90% of the pop. we at least have some idea of what's going on, only thing is... what can we do about it? |

That's exactly the type of attitude that makes it so nothing can be done. I say, go Hitler style and seize the opportunity opening itself up... only... don't do what he did... sept the seize part I just said... |

Hey folks... you'r the fuckwits.... Bunch of idiot politicians running the show and fucking it all up, and you just complain???? Get off yer ass and do something about it.. vote or run for office your self. Fucking belly-aching gets nothing. It's easy to sit in front of a computer and bitch. Takes balls to go out and try to do something about it.... Here is an example: http://keepingamericagreat.com/ Ed is a friend of mine and a co-worker. You may not agree with his ideas, but he did something and is continuing to try to make an impact. How about a post from somebody that did something instead of bitching???? |

l have actually made a difference. So there. Don't want anything for it. If summit is worth doin it's worth doin. Usa is ok. If ya can't criticise Big Brov, without him gettin cheesed off maybe summit really is the matter. Secrets secrets secrets - That's always gonna cause problems in democracies and is not neccesary. USA is great but not the great on PR. It would be a fool who crossed your country - alas the world is full of them. U have to admit odd things are occuring. Secret people, advancing secret careers promoting secrecy. There is nothing wrong with critical or unconvinced attitudes. There is nothing wrong with differing views. Leading, either a nation or planet is and should be bloody hard work. Not a dream scenario for pet projects and back slapping an elite of dependants. There are some very sick people in positions of incredible responsibility.(not politicans) Very little can be done about them when they staart fucking peoples lives. l promise u l know what l an talking about on this score. The californication thing is your business and deserves the backlash that can be seen building against it. Same all over. You really should not however paint Liberals as you do. You will find true liberals to be amongst the most forthrite and capable people. Disciplined, commited and trustworthy and honest and simply not prepared to be treated as plebs by authoritarian fuckwits who think they must be obeyed for whatever reason. |

There is away to sort the chaos in Iraq - it's not complicated or mind boggling but it does require turning 'accepted' practices on their head and thinking outside the box. There is however no time left. The game is moving on. Taking a quick overview of this news report should raise an interesting point or 2 in respect of funding. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/file_on_4/4755222.stm |

I'm 18, so now I can vote, I don't just complain, I do as much as I can to change it, which isn't much. And I have full intentions on voting, damn straight. I have a life despite doing what I can to make change. I'm in a couple organisations that aren't getting to far. There's only so much one can do, especially being as young as me, speak for yourself mobo. |

This is the problem with modern warfare. In the old days you took land, occupied it, killed it's inhabitants and exploited it's resources. If anyone had a problem with that, well, tough shit because you're dead. Now we try and go in and blow everything up but make no effort at subjucating the population. Well no fucking shit they're pissed. If they were DEAD they wouldn't be pissed at all would they? I know this is a pretty fucked up way to look at it, but if you're going to do something then do it right. Stop this bullshit hand holding and destroy Iraq and Afganistan. Let Iran know they're next whether they stop their nuclear program or not. Then follow through with it. Siria and Yemen could be leveled just as quickly and easily. Let some refugees out to tie down neighboring countries like Egypt, Jordan, and Pakistan with refugees so we don't have to actually occupy them right away. Any shit from them and fly overhead and bomb the hell out of a village or two. There, that ought to give China a reason to keep building it's military. And when they finally make their grab for Japan and Tiwan I say let them have them. Let them take North and South Korea, also. Let them into The Phillipines and Australia. Let them spread out nice and thin so they're less of a threat in the oil fields. Sound good? Play ball! |

But you are doing something instead of just complaining...Whether or not it seems to be effective is not important. What is important that you are taking action to try to make an impact on your world... It don't matter whether it's for the Socialists, Republicans or Communists, you are far ahead of 99.99% of all the kool-aid drinkers out there. |

Well if we start bombing one, then another bombs another, then everyone is bombing everyone, then someone slips up... then the world is well... gone. It's different from the olden days... now we have shit like the nuclear bomb, or hydrogen bomb... and definately some worse. One I can't think of off the top of my head... the worst one. |

How can a defeated country cause so much damage, its because we left them the weapons to do it with. Now we are sabre rattling at Iran, which I know will fight to the last person, if we invade. This crap from the US Ambassador to the UN will do no good, but will enrage Iranians to want to kill Americans, then other westerners, they will believe what the govt propaganda tells them to and this statement wont help. France's U.N. Ambassador Jean-Marc de la Sabliere agreed and said the council would follow a "gradual approach" that would be "reversible if Iran goes back to suspension." U.S. Ambassador John Bolton, who chaired the meeting, told reporters, "We talked about the role and reaction of the Security Council to the continued Iranian violation of the (nuclear) Nonproliferation Treaty." "It has been a core element of our position since I have been working on this that Iran has to cease enrichment activities. And I think what comes next is the word 'period,'" Bolton said. In Washington, Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns told a congressional committee that the United States wanted a binding Security Council condemning Iran as well as sanctions if Tehran did not comply. He also indicated that if action failed in the Security Council the United States would look elsewhere. "It's going to be incumbent upon our allies around the world, and interested countries, to show that they are willing to act, should the words and resolutions of the United Nations not suffice," Burns said. Iran's reaction in Vienna on Wednesday was fierce. It blamed the United States for its insistence on Security Council action. "The United States may have the power to cause harm and pain," Javad Vaeedi, a senior Iranian nuclear negotiator, told reporters. "But it is also susceptible to harm and pain. "So if the United States wants to pursue that path, let the ball roll," he said. ((NUCLEAR-IRAN-RUSSIA; Reuters messaging: Evelyn.Leopold.reuters.com@reuters.net; 1-212-355-7424) |
