The new pistons and bore job is ready, up to 1123cc. Started life originally as a 902cc...

The head is gettin major work, it has BIG cams already, but it's getting oversized stainless valves and more porting...

More paint to do too, I just bought an HVLP gun, gonna try epoxy paint. Anybody mess with that stuff?

Yeah, I have messed with epoxy paint. Wear a freakin respirator or your nose hairs will be a nice epoxy color for about a week.

It has a sick smell, and is very sticky. Wear something to cover your arms or it will glue your arm hairs together making it feel like somebody has put duct tape on your arm and is slowly pulling it off.

It is pretty run resistant and dries very smooth and glossy but man take care of your health when you spray the shit.

Ah, thanks Scott! I'm liking it for it's resiliency to fuel and oil on certain parts (carbs, brakes) and hardness on others (frame, final drive). Much of it has new powder coat already though.

Prolly go more conventional on the tank and covers ;)

Look into polyurethane paint as well. we used it on the aircraft, it's durable and comes up good.
With a layer of clear poly resin as a final coat it really shines.
I used to get a bike racers fairings and Marvic wheels painted with it, stones would not mark it, it's like a layer of plastic over the surface you spray it on.
I dont know about the cost, we got through hundred of gallons of it, so as long as you wanted red, white or clear, it was free.
Many polished timber floors around Sydney were painted with the clear, it was a very hard wearing varnish. Worked on tiles to, brought the 'grain' out and made them shine better than the stuff from the hardware shop.
