A quick meal at George Beane’s neighborhood Burger King ended up costing a lot more than he expected when he got the $4,334.33 bill. Beane ordered two Whopper Jr.s and two Rodeo cheeseburgers when he pulled up to the drive-through window last week. The cashier, however, forgot that she’d entered the $4.33 charge on his debit card and punched in the numbers again without erasing the original ones — thus creating a four-figure bill. The electronic charge went through to George and Pat Beane’s checking account Tuesday and left the couple penniless. Their mortgage payment was due and they worried checks they had written would bounce, Pat Beane said. “We were thinking, ‘No, not now!’” she said of the overcharge. Terri Woody, the restaurant manager, said Burger King officials tried to get the charge refunded. But the bank said the funds were on a three-day hold and could not be released, Pat Beane said. I think its pretty fucking stupid to allow someone who has failed at life to handle your debit/credit card. I'd trust the fucking computer built into a gas pump before I trusted the fucking loser at Burger King to handle my finances. I mean, really, the asshole is flipping burgers. Why can't we have robots do that already anyway? |

They're both pretty good flicks. The follow up to Soilent Green, Omega Man, was a good movie in its own right. It couldn't touch Soilent Green though. |

Yeah. 'Green' is a classic, and yet very few people seem to have any knowledge of it. Its a pity that all the refferences in the Simpsons and Futurama just go over their heads. |

Look, if things were worked out properly, no one should have to work more than 3 days a week, and we all should share in the wealth of the country we live in. The problem is the rich and powerful believe they deserve to have everything and the rest of us can fight over crumbs, we dont need the super rich, if we got them to share ok let them live, if they wont, get rid of them, your average garbage collector is more use to society, even a welder has more right to live. 40 years ago when I spent months of my working life in industrial campaigns to get better conditions, a share in the profits and a shorter working week, we believe by the year 2000 we would be only working 20hrs per week. But greed and stupid politicians got in the way. |

You get what you work for, thats all I have to say about it. In my experience people who whine about the rich being rich and how they don't have any money generally don't work very hard anyway. Or if they do work hard, its at a lousy low skilled manual labor position. Which is fine, but why should some guy flipping burgers or washing cars make the same kind of money as someone welding or working at a help desk? Then why should the welder or help desk professional make the same money as a nurse or a doctor? Do you see what I'm saying? Just because you think you have a right to a good wage doesn't mean you should get paid a good wage. Otherwise everyone would be kicking back making hamburgers for a living and watching their retirement package build up. |

But explain if you will, how someone like Carly Fiorina should get a $50+million payout when she was fired from the CEO position at HP, she did her utmost to drive the company into the ground, its going to take several years for HP to get back to where they were. I'm not rich, nor exactly poor, however I believe I have an absolute cause to get pissed off at these rich fuckers who have only gotten rich by screwing over everyone they've ever done buysiness with, poluted the environment, used virtually slave labor in their overseas factories coz they are too cheap and nasty to employ people from their own countries etc etc etc. These people are truly the scum of the earth, they deserve our contempt and scorn! |

Easy, she manipulated the system. She, and all the other assholes like her, need fired. Maybe I should have said people like you and me get what we work for. I don't know, I guess we both make a comfortable living. I don't know about you, but I'm happy with it. Maybe I'm not content, I know I'd like more, but I'm happy. Anyway, I think you know what I'm saying. |

Ever noticed though, that ist generally only the rich that manipulate 'the system' for their own gains? Just look at that scumbag Bush and how he stole his current position. None of the independants could have bribed enough people to let then do what Bush has done! Q - Whats the one thing rich people want? A - To become more rich! Q - How do they do this? A - Any fucking way they can no matter who they damage in the process. |

Fucking bunch of socialists--especially werz. Wants his share of the pie but only wants to work 3 days a week for it. And you think JF is brainwashed? Holy shit, dude. You crack me up. Are you posting from a loony bin in Sydney or what? You're about as off your rocker as one can be. Why should the super rich share with the likes of you...you lazy, part-time-working wannabe bastard? Christ, I'm surprised you let your fingers exert all the energy to type that post without some sort of a kickback from the rich guy who invented these online forums. Truth be told, it's people like YOU--the ones who feel entitled to something more than you, admittedly, don't feel you should have to work for--that the world could do without. Just because y'all either a) don't know how to work the system, or choose not to, don't begrudge the people who do their spoils.Sure, you can say that a lot of the rich don't earn their positions but rather get them handed to them from family. Sure, maybe it IS unfair that some people get born into that golden purse while others get born into some shithole in South Boston with a blue-collar family. But I'll tell you one thing that, apparently, too many of you assholes are forgetting: I'd rather be born in a one-room tent in a ghetto in ANY Western country (US, UK, Aus, etc.) than, let's say, the Sudan, or Lebanon, or Croatia, ad nauseum. The fact is, in the Western countries where the rich--that you love to hate--live and thrive, that kid born in a shithole still has more opportunity and room to excel and succeed than in almost every other country combined. Why the fuck do you think SO many people come to the US? I saw all those damn Asian kids when I was going to school getting straight A's, and saw these blue-collar kids fucking off. Here's what happens. That Asian kid with the straight A's from poor immigrant parents who had no opportunity where they grew up will get a scholarship to Stanford, get a Masters is some technical shit, and go on to become VERY well-off (rich, to a lot of us). The dipshit who didn't have that drive to get good grades and put in the WORK it took to do it, will sit back with no more than maybe a year at community college or DeVry, and hate that rich Asian because they "manipulated the system." They'll bitch and whine and moan. But, in the end, it's exactly as JF said: You get what you work for. Some people were lucky enough in life to not have to work very hard for it. Others in the world will never even be able to comprehend the luxury that our lower-middle class enjoys. I know I could be making a hell of a lot more, and I don't blame the rich people who aren't sharing with me--man, I still can't stop laughing at that shit werz, you fuckwad. It's there for the taking. I'm comfortable enough where I just don't feel the need to put forth that kind of work to get it. I don't want to put up with the BS politics. More power to the ones that do. And fuck you if you think they owe you, or anyone else, shit. |

You'll never be happy with that attitude. and I'm not going to argue about it, there is more than enough money to go around, why you feel that the unscrupulous mega rich deserve to be defended is beyond me, are they doing anything for anyone but themselves, I don't think so. They are a bigger burden on society than the poor on welfare, I don't know why you think they deserve to have so much whilst peopls starve. You could be a lot happier if you could learn to realise your worth more than your paid and it's because we have to support the ultra wealth that so many must suffer and as soon as we all stop doing it, the faster things will change. When a man does something he likes to do, it's no longer work for him. When eventually you get to do something you enjoy perhaps you wont be so sad. |
