werz, I generally like you believe it or not, but your attitude about money and what makes the world go round sucks! It takes a real nose for business and creative thinking to get er done. There is not just this big pot of money to be divied up among everybody, plain and simple. It takes creativity and imagination, means, education, will and balls to make it all happen to our mutual benefit. The problem is that all too often the ppl doin it aren't all they're on crack up to be and they fuck everybody to take shortcuts for the ends to their means. And we end up paying the price as consumers and workers, investors and competitors on an unlevel and unequivocal playing field. The assholes that perpetuate crimes against the economic and general betterment of mankind should be punished far more than the guy that steals a loaf of bread, not less. Far more and in lower class prisons, not Rivieras. It's a fuckin looney bin in the Justice System too. Shithole persons that make billions off of war or are found guilty of profiteering on an oil crisis or a situation like we have now should be subject to billions in fines, regardless of the corporate veil. Make them personally AND corporately responsible. Fuck those assholes, the ass crawling lice, a blight on society. :fart:The oil companies are having record profits, but we're paying record prices at the pump. Fine those companies right out of the fuckin country I say. At a congressional hearing the answer to why are the profits so high was something like "the costs are very high" BitchCunt Whore!!!! The costs are considered in the profits! What a doublespeakin rat bastard!!! Just a bunch of lyin obfuscatin asshole bastards!!!! Put the lot of em in a chain gang for thirty years!!!! If they get mouthy, put em in the hole... Shit fuck piss damn screw.... |

I agree with most of what you just wrote, but society must change. We are in a headlong race to destruction, built on consumption. It can't go on, look at everything we (the whole world) produce nowadays, most of it is total crap. Fridges built to last 5 years washing machines less, cars, aircraft, ships, buildings, all with short life spans, did they build the Parthenon like that, no, we new how to do things, but now the consumer society will have polluted, used up and destroyed the planet and atmosphere. This is not some communist rant I'm giving, it's a plea to those I thought were able to understand. We need a change in our thinking and habits and it needs all of us, the industrial revolution took generations to adapt us into consuming robot, now is the time to change again into a new society, built on happiness and through it care for our environment, or those with children may never see their grandkids and certainly great grandkids have healthly lives, but it wont be easy learning how to do this as long as greed is the worlds greatest motivator. An effort at birth control would help to. |

These last posts, the ones where you show your touchy-feely "save the whales and your grandkids" side, are ridiculous. Not quite as ridiculous as your last post where you wanted the rich people's money but thought a 20-hour work week was sufficient to earn it. I am 100% behind prosecuting people for their wrongdoings: rich, poor, or somewhere in between. I'd like to see harsher punishment for white-collar crime because, as we saw with Enron and the like, they tend to affect thousands of people directly and just about ruin their lives. And that trend is starting to happen, so we should all be happy. But, if all you do is hate everyone who's rich with your misconceptions about how they got to be that way, you're an idiot. This has nothing to do with me defending the rich. This has everything to do with me pointing out how big of a moron you are with your view of the economics in the world. If you want to rant about global warming or the waning natural resources of the planet--in a logical and non-loony way--I'd take you seriously. Everyone but Bush buys into global warming at this point. But these radical, idiotic ideas are just too much and are so far removed from reality that it's amazing people can believe that shit. Based on your intended goal 40 years ago and your recent posts, I'd have to conclude that you've had your head up your ass for the vast majority of your life. I'd be very interested, in a Discovery Channel kind of way, to find out what life experiences or traumas might cause someone who came out of the womb identical to the rest of us turn into someone like you. --- As an afterthought werz, you mentioned that I will never be happy with my attitude, and that when I eventually get to do something that I enjoy I won't be so sad. I've posted about just how happy I am in my life and content to be where I am. It's pretty absurd of you to tell me I'm sad or unhappy when every single one of your posts is melancholy and complains about how you never got what you wanted. Is it possible that you're just projecting your own misery onto others? I think even JF said he was happy where he was. What's your deal? |

Being content and being happy are two very different things. I'm pretty content, but I'm certainly not happy about everything. |

I have no reason not to be happy. I'm living the American Dream right now. I have a job that affords me three nice cars (1972 Mustang Mach-1, 2001 Mustang Coupe, 97 VW Jetta), a house (nothing fancy, just your average middle class home), I pay for both me and my girlfriend to go to college, too. Why shouldn't I be happy? Where else can a man do that by simply deciding he's going to work his ass off and make some money? I've graduated from high school and thats it. The more I think about it, the more I realize how fucking lucky I am to have what I have. But, I know I would like more. I know that if I keep working and going to school eventually both me and my girlfriend will have more. Its incentive to do more that motivates people to work harder. I work some fifty some hours a week at the minimum plus go to school in the evenings. Do you think thats easy? Hell fucking no it isn't. But if I want to get ahead thats what I think I have to do. So I do it. Pay now and get paid later, thats how I look at it. You sit back and work your 20 hour work week at McDonalds and wonder why you're not getting anywhere. I'll keep doing it the old fashioned way. In five years we'll see whos right, dickhead. And fuck the environment, too. |

You can do that in any developed country, with most the education is free, the health care is free and we get at least 4 weeks holdays a year plus 10 days off public holidays, but it's not the point. What is important to the sustained existence as a species is a complete reorganisation of priorities, away from work to accumulate more money and things, into a more fulfilling role, more time spent with the family, raising children if you have then, probably the most important role a man will have, providing luxuries must come second to it. You have a blinkered mind if you think we can't work out a way to do this. Only you are talking about minimum pay and even though you may go hungry till you learn some nutrition at 'college' McDonalds and other fast food outlets which destoy the environment to feed your fat ass, must be some of the first changes to make. |

If the fast food places close where will you work? I suppose you could always scrub toilets somewhere. Yeah, I bet if you scrubbed toilets for three our four hours a day the man should give you the keys to his BMW, right? Go fuck yourself in the corner. |

This is what its all about, who is happy working at a fast food joint, not many people, but if there are some let them run a sustainable place, if people eat the crap they cook, which they must do, because like you and work, they are conned into thinking that its the right thing to do. Some people are good cooks and are happy when they can please people with the food they cook, so let them work in restaurants or own them. Then those that appreciate good food will be happy. You see its not so hard. |

Doesn't take a genius to see how unhappy you are, it wont be long before your GF has a belly full of arms and legs, you'll end up working 60hrs\week. You need to be looking for the job that is waiting for you, to make you happy now. Or we will be reading about a guy from Illinois or Ohio going berserk with a gun and killing the other poor deluded guys he works with in a fit of dispair. |

Main thing I have to say is, the government needs to stop running so many things. I mean, think about it, the government is like a fucking monopoly! YOU CAN'T RUN THEM OUT OF BUSINESS, IT'S THE FUCKING GOVERNMENT! Seriously, tons of tax dollars that go to the poor and needy, are wasted because the government does a shit job at their service. They can say how much they spend, and once it is all done and overwith, all people involved still get paid the same amount whether they did a good job or a shit one. Why? Because it is the government, nobody is going to run it out of business, because it can't be. If things were run by private parties things would be better, because then they have to worry about making their 'customers' happy, otherwise they wont have much of a business anymore. For example, public housing. Have you seen half of these ghettos? Holy shit! And you can't blame the people staying in them, because most of the people keeping the building running don't give a shit about fixing things, installing shit correctly, working hard at anything, or keeping the 'customers' happy, since they're not going to be fired, and get paid the same as they would had they worked their ass off. Now if it was privately owned, then everything would be totally different, as they have to worry about their customers, and workers, and getting paid themselves. So tax money goes to running these privately owned places, rather than the government. Then tax money would not be given to private owners and workers who aren't doing a good job. |

You show your age dude. But in doing this, the gov't becomes the customer, not the people. And then you have Halliburton. The problem here isn't the workers who don't give a shit. It's the folks who live in gov't-funded (aka taxpayer funded) housing who don't give a shit. No jobs, 8 kids, no education, but we're supposed to provide for them? The people who live there aren't the customers...they just get the handouts. The gov't is the customer. Personally, it pains me to see my tax $$ go to people who were born with the same opportunity as me but instead chose a life of popping out tons of kids, all with different dads, and laziness. Once you actually get out into the world and pay a shitload of taxes every year, reply to that. Until then, you're money isn't where your mouth is. |

Nah, many of them do give a shit, but live in a fucked up backwards building. Government being the customer? Everyone is a customer. The people are the government, this makes the government already a customer. Watch more Stossel. |
