![]() you; name; Gira contact information; Reference Ienzo’s app, because I’m lazy. other characters; Ienzo, Lexaeus, Squall Leonhart, Austria, Shii. basics; name; Riku age; Seventeen occupation; Professional hit-things-around-the-head-with-a-Keyblade guy. race; Human. in depth; appearance; His eyes remain blue and his hair remains silver, though it now has grown down to around his shoulderblades. He’s begun wearing it in a ponytail, and occasionally grumbles that if it gets any heavier he may need to cut it off. His body remains just as muscular as it has been when he was younger, built so from years of working either on projects in the Destiny Islands or other occupations back on the mainland. He now wears a sleeveless black shirt with a two-way zipper down the middle, unzipped just short of the edge on both sides. His pants are very baggy -- very baggy, we're talking serious Marshal pants here -- with oversized pockets of a fabric lighter than the rest, held up by a black belt with still more studs. Underneath are white-and-orange sneakers. Now, whatever your mental image is, add several more zippers anywhere you can imagine, because chances are the author missed a few... and voila! Automatic Riku. Riku has taken up the MANLY MAN look that he uses in Dream Drop Distance; see above. He has, obviously, gone through with his grumbling to cut his hair short, and is no longer a contender for World's Stupidest Mini-Vest. personality; Riku is a happy little butterfly with not a care in the world. He frolicks in meadows, pats puppies, and loves children. He has slept with everyone on Destiny Islands, but instead of getting baaaaad things from him like normal partners, everyone becomes super mega happy because his chipperness is infectous. He likes to weave little crowns out of wildflowers and urges the author to shut up before he sticks Soul Eater through her chest. Truth be told, Riku is not really a nice person, but he’s trying. Honest. He’s had a lot of foggy times throughout his life, so he can be a little awkward in certain situations -- like, say, 'social interaction' with people who don't want to kill him. He is attempting to atone for his past mistakes, and one of the ways he's doing so is by making it a point to make friends with as many people as possible. The truth of the matter is he wants to go back to the way he was at fifteen, outgoing and jokey with just the slightest hint of rivalry to his best friend Sora, the goal being his other best friend Kairi. Whether it was something as ‘deep’ as sharing a Paopu fruit or just the one to hand her the cloth for her to sew into raft sails, they held Kairi in high regard, as most boys of their age were inclined to do when there was a female in the area. He wishes for those days, but for now, he’s trying to get his old personality back. Away with the anger and remorse. Riku is walking the path to dawn, and he ain’t stopping anywhere short. history; Riku and his good friend Sora have always lived in happiness on Destiny Isles, spending most of their time on their little island with their other friends and carrying on the time-honored tradition of announcing all of that island to be theirs, the kids’. No matter what happened to the rest of the Islands, that particular one was always the responsibility of the children. That rule was never broken. It just Was Not Done. However, there were visitors to the island. A startling number of them came from other worlds. First there was Terra, a man who quickly earned minor idolization in Riku’s eyes, even though they had only met briefly. He had the weird and awesome power to summon a weapon from midair, and allowed Riku to touch it after Riku told him of his dreams. Because oh yes, he had dreams. Ever since he had heard of another person who left the island many years ago, in pursuit of other worlds, Riku had wanted to do that too. He wanted to scour the worlds and become powerful, so that he could protect his own world – his own friends. Then, there was Aqua. She was a woman who met him and Sora... she seemed nice enough, but Sora had said that she told him something funny after he had run off. He wouldn’t tell Riku what, though, so that was odd. Then there was Kairi, who came in the middle of a freaky storm and was quickly adopted by Sora and Riku... and later, formally, by residents of the Destiny Islands. She would, of course, grow up to become Sora and Riku’s best friend, a fact that would trouble and motivate them both in the times ahead. But for now, there were blue skies all around the power trio, and the world spun in a flurry of joy. Riku was fifteen when the world stopped spinning. Heartless overtook the Islands, and the Darkness ran rampant all over it. It took many prisoners – Riku among them. This was the point where everything went downhill, and the where he spent the last few seconds of his goal personality. Soon after, he is dropped off in Hollow Bastion, where he runs into Maleficent... who obviously has only good intentions for her new little charge. She began tinkering with his mind, making him think that Sora had deceived and forgotten him, in favor of the talking animals he was with now. Soon, he was running ‘errands’ for her, making big trouble for Sora and crew. Maleficent gave him a sword, Soul Eater, and he taught himself to use it as Sora did his Keyblade (but of course he never used that analogy, because he now hated Sora as a person). All this time, Maleficent convinced Riku that he was doing these things in order to rescue Kairi for himself, because Sora obviously wouldn’t, now that he had new friends and all. The two met several times over the course of their first adventure, Sora always trying to convince Riku that his methods were wrong, and inevitably failing. However, when they met in Hollow Bastion, Riku now knew something very important courtesy of Maleficent. Sora hadn’t just lied to him and abandoned him, but he was now a thief as well. Riku wanted his Keyblade back, dammit, and Sora was just getting in the way! Well, he took back the Keyblade, leaving Sora with a wooden sword he had used as a boy on the Destiny Islands. Here laid the climax of their first adventure, and Riku took on a new and much more frightening form in order to best Sora, once and for all... and plus rescue Kairi, which was good too, he supposed. But his ambitions had changed. Long story short, Sora defeated Riku by claiming back the Keyblade. Riku, understandably, was very pissed, and he ran off into the Darkness... where still another malevolent force aimed to use him. The force explained that Sora had won through power of heart, and offered Riku a Keyblade of his own if he would just shut up and accept the Darkness like a good little boy. Driven by fury and envy towards Sora, Riku accepted, and the Seeker of Darkness took him completely. Later, he came right back out and fought Sora again, at the End of the World... but once again, Sora won and Riku lost. Riku woke up in the basement of Castle Oblivion, where he was talked to by a Mysterious Voice. This voice explained to him that he could either give up and sit floating in blue for the rest of his existence, or he could take the hard path towards the Light. One would think that Riku had learned not to trust disembodied voices floating in the dark, but he didn’t, and chose to take the latter option. This catapults him into an adventure through his own memory, more commonly known as Reverse/Rebirth. Another long story short, the Seeker of Darkness makes his return, and Riku armflails his way up the castle, killing several members of Organization XIII and growing steadily more enraged with both Sora and a new threat to his existence (or was it ego?): the Riku Replica, which is exactly what it sounds like. In the end, he was approached one last time by DiZ, with the question of the night – which road he would take. The Road to Darkness, or the Road to Light? Well, as it turned out, Riku had a green pill. Blindfolded of his own accord, justified with something about not being able to lie about the Darkness within him – but the truth probably has something to do with the fact that not wearing it apparently invites the Seeker of Darkness to transform Riku’s body into his own. A young mistake named Xion has been haunted by him in Twilight Town; he requested what right she had to the Keyblade, calling it a sham. He continued to follow her around the worlds, but when her friends Roxas and Axel finally found him, he sent her off to distract them on his own time. Riku was holding Xion when she had her infamous nightmare scene, and later, met up with King Mickey – who immediately drew his Keyblade, since he was still in the form of the Seeker of Darkness. Riku revealed himself and made Mickey swear to protect Sora in the event that he didn’t survive his next battle, one with a member of Organization XIII... Come the time of Kingdom Hearts II, Riku has buddied up with DiZ, sharing his goal of reviving Sora from the sleep he had been left in while Naminé healed his memories. He was told by DiZ that he needed to kidnap Roxas, the reasoning being that joining both of them together should bring Sora back. He was forced to take the form of the Seeker of Darkness in the battle with Roxas, and once that happened, his immense Dark powers promptly squashed the Nobody. He was brought back to DiZ, though Riku still held the form of the Seeker of Darkness. He introduced himself as Ansem. Which was unfortunate, because the man he was talking to just so happened to be named Ansem. When Roxas was dropped into the Simulated Twilight Town, Riku was sent in every so often to keep tabs on him, but that stopped soon enough – evidently, DiZ had been using both him and Sora for “revenge” against a mysterious entity. Shocked and furious at being used that way, Riku becomes more deviant from his ‘friend’, refusing to hand Naminé to DiZ after Roxas and Sora had joined together. Instead, Naminé was handed to the turncoat Axel, who later actually tried to kidnap Kairi – but Riku was there to protect her, and brought her to Twilight Town via Dark Corridor. This pattern continued, with Riku swooping in to help Kairi when she was in trouble. Soon, the power trio was reunited, with Riku now stuck in his body as the Seeker of Darkness. Kairi saw through his disguise and knew that it was Riku, and soon after, Sora did too. As a whole, they turned to the castle, the aim being to defeat the Xemnas lurking at its tip. Near the top, DiZ’s little Kingdom-Hearts-encoding-machine explodes, sending DiZ hurtling into the Realm of Darkness and bringing Riku back to his true form. Then, they follow Xemnas through a portal created by Kingdom Hearts, and after chasing him all over the worlds finally bring the white-haired Nobody to his knees. And then there were letters. finishing up; roleplay sample; They were swarming. Gaia, of course, had picked up on it first; the little Green Requiem had begun to squirm slightly on her perch, looking like she wanted to leave and get a look around, but not sure if Lexaeus would allow it at a time like this. It didn't take too long before the Nobody, too, could see what was upsetting her so; there was a lesser stampede of Soldiers coming directly for them. The Heartless didn't look like they seeked to attack him, though -- those things never were interested in terrorizing creatures who didn't have hearts for them to feed on -- but were instead running rampant as if they owned the entire place, dashing over rooftops and teleporting wherever they couldn't swarm by hand and foot. Amusingly, once he came closer to them, the Soldier swarm began to clear a pathway around him. He was able to walk relatively unharmed through the stampede of monsters that came up to about his kneecap, the only problems coming when one of them failed to sidestep fast enough. They got trod on. Just like every other time he had tried to kill a Heartless, they merely laid there, the darkened heart within still intact. They would wake up in a matter of hours, slightly groggy but still able to go about their business. That was simply how most of the universe was supposed to deal with them; knock them out as many times as possible, and get out of their range. The exception, of course, was the Keyblade, and a few other specialty weapons... but nothing the Organization could get a hold of, besides their resident Keyblade Bearer, who hadn't turned out particularly well as it was. ...Hm. It seemed that the rampage wasn't content to stop at Soldiers. It was now apparently working up the ranks of Heartless, if the numerous Air Soldiers and Fat Bandits appearing on the horizon were to be trusted. Immediately Gaia realized that she probably shouldn't be out right now, and made a dive for the oversized ever-presence that was the bag slung around Lexaeus' back. With that problem out of the way, the bag was quickly shoved in Hammerspace, to be replaced in the same motion with everyone's favorite gargantuan axe-sword. He didn't exactly intend to start attacking the Heartless, but in Lexaeus' experience, getting caught defenseless against a horde of demonic hearts-gone-wild was not a nice place to be. Definitely, the other ones wouldn't part so easily as the Soldiers had. Almost immediately after lurching into motion again, an Air Soldier had advanced upon the Silent Hero, and immediately after that it was nothing but a flying carcass that had met up with Skysplitter. With that out of the way, Lexaeus continued to plow down the Heartless as he proceeded across the square. Eventually, he began to notice little fractures in the creatures' apparent formation -- in an otherwise perfect formation of Spring Metals, for example. A number of them seemed to be missing, and the others weren't even paying any attention to that fact. There was someone else here, it seemed, and that someone was fighting just as hard as he was. If not harder, Lexaeus noted, figuring that he wasn't trying very hard at all. Was it possible that someone had found their way to this forgotten wasteland? Or... that... someone had actually survived from before? Lexaeus found that rather hard to believe, but whoever they were, they were having quite a time taking down this Heartless mob. Well, Lexaeus figured he ought to just leave them to that, but instead he took a Corridor of Darkness and stepped out onto the flat roof of a building he could hardly have seen in the distance from his previous position. Looking downward to the ground floor next to his building, he saw the root of the problem -- a man with large hairspikes and a sword to match, jumping and swinging at the hordes of monsters that surrounded him on all sides. At a time like this, Lexaeus would see it appropriate to just stand there and watch, out of sight, but with another swipe at the Air Vikings which had been making an attempt to dive-bomb him... well, he figured that perhaps waiting in one of the alleys below would be a better idea. It didn't particularly matter if the spike-haired one saw him there anymore -- as far as Lexaeus was concerned, there was now no reason to loom ominously over rooftops and get constantly pestered by the mad Heartless (which appeared to be feral enough to attack an uninteresting blob of foodlessness like himself). So he pulled up still another Dark Corridor and entered again on the side street next to his previous building. Perhaps he would be seen -- not a great loss. But the Heartless were considerably less here, and there was no need to subject himself to constant attack. That was just foolish. member title; Cooler Than You anything else; Herp de freakin’ derp! |
