Ninetails
Wielder of the True Celestial Brush
you;

name; Nami!

contact information; Skype's shattered.mirrors. Ask permission for my Facebook.

other characters; A memory witch, a music junkie back from the dead, and a handful of ill-intentioned furballs.

basics;

name; Ninetails. (And yes, he does have nine tails.)

age; Unknown, though he appears to be in his early twenties.

occupation; Lord of Oni Island, ruler of Ryoshima Coast, and servant to Yami, the Lord of Darkness. Or at least that's what he says in his evil monologue.

race; Nine-tailed kitsune demon.

in depth;

appearance; Ninetails is, quite obviously, a giant nine-tailed kitsune demon. And I mean giant. He's at least three times the size of a regular human. His nine fox tails (also giant) each end in a paintbrush tip. These are used in battle when he "paints" a spell in order to cast it. Different brush strokes and symbols drawn in mid-air cast different spells. His coat is pure white, except for a large blood red spiral symbol on his left side. His fur is relatively neat and fairly short, except for around his neck. He also has several small wing patterns branching out on his ankles and shoulderblades. A kitsune mask hides any of his real facial features from view. Oh, and he has a sword. Whenever he calls it out it usually hovers above his head, staying there until he dismisses it again.

Although he does not have another form in the game, I am adding one in for the sake of roleplay. In his human form, he is quite different than when he's in his normal form. Although he still retains his ears, feet, and one of his many tails, they are all the blood-red color the symbol on his side is. His eyes are a slitted yellow very similar to that of a fox. That's about where the similarities end, however. His skin is as pale as can be, as is his blonde hair, which reaches down to about his hips. Ninetails is completely littered in battle scars, though the only ones really visible are on his left cheek, his neck, and his hands. Damn Amaterasu. He prefers to dress in oriental clothing, as you can see in the picture, since that's what pretty much everyone on his home world wears. He does have his sword in this form (though not the magic) and carries it on his back at all times.

personality; Let me start off by saying that this Ninetails in anything but the Ninetales from Pokémon. Ninetails is cruel, merciless, and anything but your ordinary adorable little fox creature. He thrives in absolute Darkness and will sometimes call himself the master of it or a god. He's never the true god, though. That title goes to his master, Yami. Seriously, he worships that guy. He isn't above lying, cheating, stealing, and anything else that can pull him ahead. Actually, deception is one of his favorite past times. He tends to go on evil monologues detailing every inch of his plans. (Much to the facepalming of Okami players everywhere.) He's very narcissistic. If you defeat him in battle, he'll usually blame it on something else, such as him being off-guard. Above all, he's cunning, brutal, and possesses a thirst for power that can't be quenched.

history; For a long time, Ninetails lived a good life. He was ruler of Oni Island, had attained a great mastery of what those in the Kingdom Hearts universe would know as Darkness, and served Yami faithfully. So faithfully, in fact, that Yami gave him permission to rule over Ryoshima Coast, a large area populated by humans. Unfortunately, he also chose to provoke them, causing their King to take action. Shit went down. The king used the power of the Dragon Orb to take control of the Water Dragon and fight him. Of course, Ninetails being Ninetails, he totally owned the dragon. Unfortunately, he also lost his Fox Rods in the process. These rods were the source of all his power. The Water Dragon swalled them and dove down into the sea, where the severely weakened demon kitsune couldn't get to them. Not only were most of his powers gone, but the queen also was on the verge of finding his hidden Oni Island. If she did that, then surely she would order the destruction of all his demons on the isle. Now officially screwed over, he was forced to come up with a plan.

Ninetails lived for deception. So, obviously, it wasn't hard for him to murder the local priestess Rao and then assume her form for a while. It also wasn't hard to buddy up with the queen so that when the time was right, he could assassinate her--and any plans of finding the Island. And to top it all off, he laid a fog of Darkness over Sei'an City (where the queen ruled), killing many of the residents. From there, he sat and wait.

It's there that our little hero Amaterasu comes in. Fucking canine. He had heard a lot about her--the way the goddess was conquering the Darkness bit by bit. Obviously, she had to be removed. So he approached her in the form of Priestess Rao and asked her to find Rao's Prayer Slips, which could kill demons with one blow and were necessary in furthering his disguise. Now, remember those Fox Rods? Well, he told her that they were a holy object that the queen was looking for. So together they went into a sunken ship near the Water Dragon, where he said they were hidden. He then used Rao's Prayer Slips to kill the demons, but in doing do accidentally lured the Water Dragon in. "Accidentally". When it came looking for something to devour, Ninetails made a break for it, leaving Amaterasu to perish. Unbeknowst to him, Ammy survived the attack, clearing the fog of Darkness from the city in the process.

On her way to combat the fearsome Water Dragon in North Ryoshima Coast, Ammy picked up none other than those elusive Fox Rods that they both had been searching for for so long. So Ninetails popped up, again disguised as Rao, and told her that he'd give them to the queen straight away and that they'd be used for the purpose of good. And here's the thing: she believed him. She actually fucking believed him. Overjoyed at our hero's stupidity and now at full power once again, he raced back to the castle to finish what he planned to do so long ago.

He murdered Queen Himiko, taking great pleasure all the while. But before he had a chance to escape, Amaterasu burst into the room. Still disguised as Rao, he told her a quick story about how the Dark Lord Ninetails had come and murdered the queen. (See, he wasn't lying, so that makes it okay). Unfortunately, our hero had earned a few more IQ points by then. Ammy dove at him, but he quickly evaded the attack and for the first time showed his true form. He still kept part of his disguise on, though, afraid that he would lose the ability to change form again because Rao was so long dead. A battle between the two ensued where Ninetails was able to eat the queen's crystal ball, the only way they had left to find Oni Island. But Amaterasu defeated him, making him cough it up again. Thus, Ninetails begun to turn to his last resort and transform to his true form, only to find out that the room was too small to do it in. And so he ran away returned to guard Oni Island, prepared for the imminent attack.

It wasn't too long before Amaterasu found a way to break the barrier of Oni Island and enter. But Ninetails had prepared for it. When they reached the top of the island, nothing was there but a frightening kitsune-shaped constellation in the night sky. Ammy used her Celestial Brush to finish the constellation, drawing the fully-powered Ninetails down to earth. They battled. Eventually Amaterasu cut off all but one of his tails. Every single one of his tails houses a different spirit, making him invulnerable while they remain. When eight of them were cut off, he became vulnerable again. As soon as she delivered the final blow he was transformed back into what he was originally: an old fox who had traded everything to become young and powerful. Ammy defeated the small fox and sent its spirit to rest in Heaven. Meanwhile, the dark shadow that had consumed the fox--the real Ninetails--stole away to the northern lands, eager to serve its master further...

Ammy did cross Ninetails' path once more, in the Arc of Yamato. Thanks to the mercy of Yami, he was revived to his previous form to do battle one final time. Unfortunately, he was again defeated, along with his precious master and fellow servants.

"In the name of Yami, Lord of Darkness...I shall return."

finishing up;

roleplay sample; See Nami's app.

member title; Lord of Monologues

anything else; Even though the Wiki says Ninetails is a girl, the English localization of the game states that he is, in fact, a boy. THE WIKI LIES. D:
