-- it's hard to know where you're { g o i n g } when you don't know where to { s t a r t }

you;
name; I go by Rhyme online. (: I used to go by Spy and S, too, so feel free to call me that?
contact information;  Ehh, shoot me a mail (PM for the address) or just PM. ^.^
other characters; None at the moment~

basics;
name;  Raimu Bito (Rhyme)
age; Somewhere between 12-14
occupation; None really. She's kind of a wanderer at the moment.
race; Human

in depth;
appearance; Rhyme is fairly short, somewhere around 5'4. Her form is very lithe and skinny- she's wonderful at avoiding fights, but not so great at actually participating in them. She has very delicate porcelain skin that could be described as glow-in-the-dark white, cobalt blue eyes that are sharp and always assessing, whether in a friendly manner or a defensive one, and a short mess of blonde hair- her spiky bangs hang over her eyebrows slightly, and in the back, it comes about to the nape of her neck. A black beanie with a little white skull on the left side generally hides her blonde mop and shadows her eyes a little. She wears an overly baggy pink sweatshirt with sleeves that cover her hands, sporting a black skull-and-crossbones in which the skull is a heart of sorts. A loose piece of cord around her neck holds a small bell-like pendant. Baggy white shorts and yellow/black high tops complete her ensemble.

personality; Rhyme is very shy and bashful. Often enough, she's pushed around by other people and such. It's not that she's spineless, however- she doesn't believe it's necessary to fight when the situation does not call upon it. If it comes to it, she will stand up for herself and argue back, but most of the time she's very passive. She treats everyone with the same politeness and sweet attitude, no matter how they act towards her.
history; Home had always been a wonderful place for Rhyme, even if the people there weren't. Much of her early life was fairly quiet and peaceful- not much of a disruption in the warm happiness that spread over the Bitos, a nice combination with Raimu with her mother and father and Beat. Her big brother picked on her a lot, but it was just teasing- they really did love each other, as all siblings did. Things were fairly calm up until she was 8, until her mother died. It had been sudden and unexpected- nothing had seemed to be wrong, but her mother had fallen ill one day, and after a few long, grueling hours of waiting, she was pronounced dead. It was some odd, unknown disease that quickly took over the body and destroyed it. The doctor had snapped his leather suitcase shut, giving his deepest regrets and condolences before leaving to attend to his living patients.

After her mother died, Rhyme's father practically went mad. He had always been one to drink, but his intake of alcohol became overindulgent. He went through fits of rage, and neither Beat nor Rhyme had avoided a bruise or two, though Beat usually stood up and took the abuse for his sister. It was terrible, and it lasted for a few years before the two took a stand. One day during school, Beat stole away to try and get train tickets so that he and his sister could get as far from the city and keep running. Being the loyal younger sister that she was, Rhyme caught sight of him leaving before hours and chased after him, catching up and letting him explain what he was planning- to run away. At one point, the girl was so engrossed in her brother's statement that she kept on walking across the street, completely missing the sight of a car that decided to run the red light. Beat ran after her, screaming to get out of the way as he scooped her up in his arms and tried to push her out of the way. But it was too late, far too late...

The duo were approached by someone later on. They were told of a way that they could return to the earth or, even better, ascend to the higher ranks of existence. The second half interested the pair more than the first- neither had a desire to return home, but man, did they want to be important for something, anything. The Reaper's Game.. it would ultimately save them, if they could win. Both agreeingly gave up their most prized possession- Beat's most prized possession was Rhyme's affection for him, and she lost memories of him being her brother, merely recognizing him as a kind stranger. Rhyme's toll was the memories of her mother kept so close to her heart, of a better time when the family had been happy and content. With these memories and feelings stripped from her mind, the girl entered the Game alongside her brother, not knowing the person she sought was right by her side.

The missions were easy, a bit physically trying at times, but never too difficult for Rhyme to figure out. Days 1-3 flew by. On Day 4, the objective was simple. They were to get from one destination to the next- no obstacles, no enemies to defeat, no time limit. On their way over, Beat let his guard down while goofing off and being competitive.  A Shark Noise nearly erased him as he was fooling around, but Rhyme managed to push him out of the way just in time. It was uncertain, but there was a flicker of doubt that she could have actually recognized Beat for who he was. But she was erased, leaving behind only her favorite pendant.

Her soul lingered, and it was connected to a pin. Now, a body and heart cannot exist without a soul- while it appeared that the girl had been completely destroyed, it was just that the soul that gave her the ability to live was stuck inside of her noise form, so her body and heart seemingly "vanished". The pin was present throughout Beat's whole journey of the game, becoming a Reaper to try and restore his little sister to life. And finally, when he finished the Reaper's Game, she was alive again. Though she had lost her earliest memories for good, the love for her brother returned.

Something... strange happened, though. She continued her life in Shibuya's Realground, but having been turned into Noise before had aftereffects on her soul. Everything was confusing and simply strange now. She got a lot of headaches and was frequently ill. Images would flicker behind her eyelids and confuse her to no end. Beat became worried and fretted over her constantly. She'd respond with a weak gibe and a little smile, but it wasn't the same...

Finally, it happened. Rhyme had fallen asleep after fighting a monstrous headache, and the images came in a rapid succession. It was like a nightmare that never ended... But all too abruptly, it did, and the girl found herself in a strange town. It was the dim, neon-lit one that she always saw in the odd dreams.. But how had she gotten here...? She stumbled a little, dazed beyond belief and disoriented madly. What in the world was going on...?

(this is an old intro for a Sho/Rhyme rp)

Everything was raving mad right now. Her life, her mind, her very existence. Rhyme had no idea what to make of this odd change of scenery, to be perfectly honest.

She'd been resting back in Shibuya what seemed like moments ago. Lately... things had been strange. Ever since she'd come back from the Reaper's Game, really. Beat had won, rising through the ranks to become a Reaper himself and pushing further until he found a way to win the Game and bring her back. She'd been restored, human, normal again and alive. Her entry fee hadn't been returned, as no one's was when they lost- but her brother's fee was, and her love and memories associated with him returned. But she hadn't remained normal for all that long. She became weaker, illness plaguing her body and memories, memories she didn't recognize, constantly pestering her mind. Beat worried to no end over her. Even when she was little, she'd sit and tough it out- he knew as well as she did. But now... fighting this for months on end, it was beginning to eat away at her and her sibling as well, troubling thoughts mingling with terror over losing the other again. Rhyme had been overwhelmed with a pounding headache and had laid down, and this twist of fate had taken over her life. She'd thought herself to be hallucinating, memories of some foreign place she'd been seeing for weeks now slowly becoming more and more imprinted into her memory. Everything had a dreamy, hazy quality, but when she actually opened her eyes, the visions stopped and she really, truly found herself in the odd place from her nightmares.

The first thing that Rhyme had to wonder was if this was truly happening or not. She was inclined to say it was, for her head was spinning, her mind reeling, her heart pounding in surprise and confusion. Her wide midnight-blue eyes scanned everything quickly, erratically. The town was a small one, seeming to be forever plunged in nighttime. There were neon signs everywhere to make up for the lack of sun, and she knew from experience (well, memory) that there was a cluster of shops in one section and a hotel area in another, and then a broad town square-like place in the last. She couldn't even begin to guess where she was- the girl had never even really /visited/ to this place before tonight. Was this a dream? Or was this really happening, and she was actually here? She shook her head slightly in confusion, brushing long, thin fingers through her short, jaggedly cut and styled cornflower hair, most of which hid in her black skulled beanie. Her outfit was the same that it had been when she'd first entered the Games, almost a year ago- a baggy, pale pink sweatshirt with the black symbol lingering somewhere between a skull and crossbones and a heart and crossbones across the chest, white shorts that had many different layers (which gave them quite a unique appearance), yellow and black hi-tops that came up a little above her ankle. Traces of Beat were visible in her appearance- the same shade of blonde hair and blue eyes, though she had softer features and slightly more porcelain shaded skin than he. The skull on her ski cap was the same one on her brother's, but smaller. The girl backed up a little, trying to regain her composure and some sense of reality. The person she managed to accidentally back up into just confused her even more.

There was a young man standing behind her- she'd guess around 18 or 20ish, maybe. He was tall, towering over her, with carefully assessing bright topaz eyes. His hair was long, brown, and jagged, coming down to his jaw in the front and about to his shoulders in the back. He was wearing a vest-like article of clothing that could have once been a black coat, ripped and shredded beyond recognition with a collar that framed his face while the tail of the torn jacket hung low, mid-thigh. It exposed much of his bare chest, dark-skinned, covered with a black tattoo of some odd symbol that she had yet to be familiar with. His arms were visible, too- he was lean, with strong muscles, and black tattoos winded their way from his elbows to the tips of his fingers, making it appear as if his arms had been dipped in ink. A pendant hung around his neck, a diamond shape with shades of black and white on a silver chain. He wore torn, dark grey jeans fairly low on his waist, holding a belt with an odd skull-like symbol on it. Three bracelets sat loosely on his left wrist. Rhyme blinked a little as she drank in all of these features, a slight confusion creating a delicate crease between her eyebrows. She had come to the conclusion that if she were to come into any sort of situation where she'd have to try and evade this man, she'd be helpless without a weapon or means of defense, so she'd best try to figure out why he was here and why she was here as well. "Sorry," Rhyme murmured, her tone a near-whisper as she blinked up at the stranger. Her eyes held traces of curiosity and also remnants of a startled reaction at finding him here, though she didn't appear to be afraid of him- merely interested as to what was going on. "Umm... I'm Rhyme," she offered quietly, seeming a little awkward and shy. She carefully toyed with the pendant that hung around her neck always, a little bell-shape hanging on a cord, biting her lip as she watched the stranger carefully. Well... things had certainly taken a change. She just couldn't tell if it had been a change for the better.
