Easy Prey Posts: 26 Group: Members Member #45 Joined: March 5, 2008	Hey guys! Well i'm definatey gonna create a new male Hume when i rejoin FFXI in like 2 months! But i'm not sure on what name to have! So i'm gonna let you have your say! Pretty simple! vote for the name that u think sounds the best, and the name which has the coolest meaning! Too help you with that I will briefly describe each names meaning, and how I thought of them: Balder = "Prince" in Norse (cant remember how I know this...just do lol) Bast = "Fire" in Egyptian (found during uni reading) Castor = "to shine" in Greek (I can speak part Greek and Castor is used in their mythology) Evander = "good" in Greek and Latin Orpheus = "the darkness of night" in Greek (my personal fave atm) Pax = "Peace" in Latin (also the name of the Roman goddess of Peace) Perseus = "to destroy" in Greek (Perseus is the brother of Hesiod in the 8th century BC Greek book "works and days" written by Hesiod. Perseus is always destroying the family's livelihood by not respecting his farming duties) Thoth = "he who balances" in Egyptian (thought it was quite appropriate for a hume lol) Knowing my luck all of the above will have already be taken! lol but ah well..It will still be interesting to see what you guys think!

Tough Posts: 147 Group: Members Member #7 Joined: January 1, 2008	heh, I named my cat Bast after reading up on Egyptian mythology... Anyway, chose Thoth for you, partly because it's meaning fits Humes so well, and also because the sound of it conjures a kind of heavy metal theme in my head. Also: I'm pretty sure I've seen Orpheus, Perseus, and Castor running around somewhere.
