So last night I played this game Viewscream. it's a sci-fi horror roleplaying game that's meant to be played over video chat. like skype or hangouts. each person plays a station of a starship (i.e. helms, bridge, engineering) everyone has emergencies and solutions. Solutions are only used to fix other peoples emergencies, and if you don't get all your emergencies dealt with by the end of the game you die. every solution is either a failure or success. you get to choose which one you want to use on whoever is asking for it. the catch is there aren't enough successes to save everybody so you have to roleplay through who lives and who dies. Bridge acts as the mediator they have the most information but no emergencies or solutions. and all other stations have to go through the bridge to talk to each other. otherwise you mute your mic when not directly interacting. the rounds take like 30 minutes so it a super quick collaborative story telling experience. it's really fun and your encouraged to ramp up the techno babble as much as you want.
