Alice Stryker
Requiem

Alice walked into the room where most were sleeping. She claimed the helmet she had left behind earlier. On her way out Alice gave a light kick to Asclepius's and Metis's boots. "Time for work, guys..." All she had was her M7S sitting on the magnetic thigh plate. Before leaving the doorway Alice locked the helmet tight on her head heading towards the marked location for these 'logistics' that needed discussing. The thought of Erebus was still crossing her mind. But her experience helped with repressing him for now. Focusing on getting back to the Infinity needed to be priority number one and figuring out what the hell kind of enemy they were dealing with.

Viktor "Akula" Carmine

Viktor flinched at first with Marina's touch before he sighed slowly relaxing losing his edge. He didn't really care if anyone saw at the moment. He needed to just be weak for a moment. Viktor closed his eyes as his arms gently wrapped around Marina. His breathing settled and his hands stopped twitching. He hated being weak right now but there wasn't much he could do against it.
"I'm going to be okay... I promise, I'll rest but I just can't right now even though I want to. I know I'll keep up for everyone, promise... and I want to tell you but-... I can't. If I could just forget it all, everything that happened today and a whole lot of what's happened in the past I would in a flash but I can't. So it's better to just not even talk about it..."

Viktor's grip around Marina tightened considerably as some of the last words came from the woman. He took a sharp intake of air before catching himself releasing it slowly. He just shook his head opening his eyes to look down at her just to confirm she was still there. "Don't even talk about that, it's not going to happen period. I could barely make it with you alive and on earth but-..." Viktor sighed loosening his grip. "It won't happen, things will be fine. Me, the kids, my parent's yours, and all of our friends need the woman who once yelled at a covenant carrier... so don't even talk like that. It's not happening, so let's just... when we're done here... go and act like everything is okay and that we're good, alright?" Vik still held onto Marina but at the first bit of movement against him he'd let go. He might of looked a bit ragged but after getting everything out he at least seemed better.

Spartan Marina Carmine

"Vik...we are good. It's okay..." She paused for a moment, Kessler was pinging her to get a move on. She looked back toward the enterwnce of their fortification where the team leaders were meeting. "Hm, kids are impatient as always." She held his hand for a brief moment. "Don't misunderstand me. I'm not giving up, or resigning myself to death or anything like that. I don't want to die...but its just that. If something goes wrong, of we lose someone else. I don't want you taking that burden okay? It's not yours to bare, that's all I'm saying.

She turned back to look at Kessler, waving them over. "Besides, it took me too long to get you out of that damn shell...but enough of thIs subject. You better get going before our dear combat life saver has a baby. I'll be here...oh, and despite what you may think. You're plenty smart and strong enough to do whatever you wanted outside of the military...just an fyi."

Her grin hidden by the visage of her helmet, Marina gave him a light pat to send Victor on his way before going to grab some rations.

---------

Devil's team leader. Spartan Savol, was standing with his arms crossed near Kessler who had managed to get communications up with the Infinity. It seemed that Kessler would be the one to brief the team leads on their projected course of action. He caught sight of Olympus' team lead approaching, as well as Legion from the other end.

Alice stopped next to Kessler. She only stood around 6'1", small for a Spartan, but by no means ineffective. She heard the chatter coming from the Infinity. A faint smile came over her face. She gave a nod to Both Kessler and Savol. "That sounds like some good news for a change." Alice's thigh plate hissewd as it slid out a little compartment. Three M7 clips were snug in their places. But that was going to be enough to put down even one of those things. Alice shook her head in disappointment. Her rifle just had to break on the fall. Cowboy moves come with a cost she thought to herself.

Vik squeezed Marina's hand for a few more moments. He more listened than anything. She said mostly the right things except him being smart. What he knew was basically from all of his experience, not much good it did outside of his current job... nothing he'd like to do. Vik just nodded looking over to Kessler as he let go of Marina's hand reluctantly. He simply shrugged walking over.
"So Kessler, what do they think they're going to have us do? I doubt they just have the up and up for us." Vik just sighed looking over the Devils Team Leader not trying to be standoffish but more of just examining.

Kessler grinned a bit. "Y'all aren't going to believe this...so recap. Remember that nasty ass field that made all the ships go dark and crash here? Well it pretty much grounded the Infinity, more or less. We got a mixture of these covenant and...promethians, is what the native robot things are being called. They attacked the Infinity trying to get access...well more so the covenant."

He cleared his throat. "So this old school bad ass. Master Chief, Spartan 117...you may have heard of him if you don't live under a rock. We'll this hombre comes in with reinforcements consisting of our scout teams. Fought off the covenant and cleared out the Infinity. Now the ship's ready to go and recalling all Spartan fireteams. But we've got a problem, hostile triple-A that could blast the Infinity out of the sky again. So we've got a tasking. We'rd to use our transport...meet up with local elements and proceed to laser designate one of the tripple-A's for a strike package. We blow it up, hop on a pelican and we'rd home free."

Kessler pointed out in the direction of their accumulated warthogs. "These guys just need to make it about ten miles, we'll get picked up by a mammoth and its Scorpion escort...that's it."

Requiem

Alice crossed her arms during Kessler's briefing. She was paying attention, but this wasn't going to be a cake walk. Whatever these 'Prometheans' are. They have some serious firepower. Her mind though back to Erebus. Not exactly in sorry and remorse, but how he died. That was one shot from some kind of laser weaponry, and then poof, gone. Alice looked down at her M7S then back to Kessler as he finished. "What does our firepower look like around here? They have guns that can disintegrate a Spartan in milliseconds. I doubt my M7S will be much help against those big bastards. What I'm getting at is... Well we are clearly outgunned for now. I don't know about all of you, but I wouldn't mind getting my hands on their weaponry. Let them see how it feels." A tone of vengeance set over Alice.

Metis put her hand on Alice's shoulder. "Alice... Recklessness isn't going to bring him back. The time will come, but lets focus on the task at hand." The fact that Metis was using her real name meant that things were getting personal.

Asclepius nodded at them both. "Agreed.."

Requiem

Viktor tilted his head up a bit at the mention of an old legend. Spartan II, big war hero. Viktor never had the animosity towards Spartans like a lot of the ODSTs did even when he was one. After all he probably owed his life to one. Viktor listened to the other team of Spartans speak with one another as he tapped on his leg thinking.
"So until we find a good clearing to gain some speed we'll be going on a crawl for these ten miles since the hogs aren't meant to slam through such dense foliage... No one should be on the guns both because they'd clip on something and it will leave them more open to be... picked off. We obviously need to connect with them but it's going to be more than just a straight line to them so we might have to catch up with them so then we'd be able to..."

Viktor just scratched at his helmet thinking. They really didn't have the time to do modifications and they couldn't afford to be slow, or utterly defenseless. It almost sounded like they'd have another casualty by the time they reconnect. Vik sighed as he glanced at the warthogs. "Hell we don't need all of them... let's just run a convoy at a bit of a good speed with all of them the front runner making a path and when it breaks down just move out of it and get in the next. If we have to run by the end that's fine, better to have all bodies than a few hogs. Anyone object or have a different idea?"

Kessler nodded as he looked between the three fitreteam leaders. "Well that's what you three are here to discuss, in just the messenger." He did his part to ignore the personal tension that was ever so present and continued. As far as firepower goes. Legion has four MA5's, two M45's two M7's, a laser, a rocket launcher. A procured promethian sniper beam death thingy and some grenades."

Spartan Soval crossed his armored arms over his chest. "I've got an SRS, one DMR, two MA5's, some LOTUS anti tank mines, and what grenades we have left." He looked over to Alice to here what they had. But it was obvious they had stripped own to running gear. They would have to pool their weapons and distribute.

--------

Marina yawned as she made her way towards one of the hogs, she met Anderson there who was going through their supplies and taking count. Her eyes traveled up his back, looking at the alien rifle.

"It uses thermal cartridges...or something close to it..." Anderson looked back at her, catching her visited gaze. "You were wondering if I had gotten the hang of using this thing right?"

"Er, well yeah."

"Not exactly, but I can make it shoot. That's enough."

"I'd only need one of your M45's and some ammo to go with it." Alice looked to the bigger Spartan. "Sounds like we've got our game plan. Let Metis handle anything explosive. That's her forte." Alice was preparing herself mentally for this upcoming expedition. What if she lost another one of Olympus? That shouldn't be going through her head, but it was a thought she couldn't stop. It was plaguing her mind. Alice would walk out, and past Marina to a small cavity in the ground. It was filled with clean water. She watched her reflection for a bit. Her visor was scraped to all hell on the left side. Like her armor had a scar of its own. Alice removed the helmet laying it to the side. Her armored hands cupped some water as she let it consume her face. It was cool, and refreshing. Alice knelt there thinking about her team and every possible outcome that was about to take place.

Asclepius watched Alice as she walked away. He turned back to the group. "If you can spare any medical supplies. That be great. I'm afraid I used most of ours trying to get to safety."
