Spartan Soval paused or a moment. Her request was rather broad, they all more or less had an explosives expert in their teams. There was also the fact that they still had that pilot with them, and two of the engineers as well. They would have to split their forces rather evenly when this thing licked off. Kessler gave a slight shrug before looking over at Carmine. "So boss, what's the plan here? These hogs...if we push them, can make that trip, we can add some modifications from the scraps and wreckage if we need to. ------- Marina and Anderson both noticed Alice as she passed. The team 'mom' more or less giving Anderson a pat on the shoulder. "I'll talk to you later. I'm going to make sure she's okay." "Yeah, she lost a teammate in a tough way." Marina sighed, knowing it was much more than that. "You know, that big link of Spartan is my husband." She approached cautiously when the Spartan removed her helmet. "Hey um, I know this is a stupid question. But, will you be okay? You lost someone you really care about...I know, someone you love even.no know what that feels like all too well. If you need someone to talk to, I'm here. Edited by Ghost01, 19 Aug 2016, 17:25.

![]() Alice Stryker Requiem Alice was kneeling, face front to the water. She heard that familiar voice again. It was Marina, Alice knew this. It had been a long few years after her accident. She had her memory back, but never thought about contacting anyone. It was better that she stayed dead to them. It wasn't hard to avoid her old comrades in such a huge galaxy. But for some reason, whether it be fate or some other higher source, Alice ran into her old allies. She slightly turned her head to the right. Her hair blocked most of her face from this angle, other than her lips and nose. Alice's smile had a sly smirk of relief. "Do you remember that time in the mess hall? That Sgt... Ha.. I don't remember his name, but he punched you or something. I'm sure it was his cocaine problem. Whatever the case was, I never disliked you. Know that. Just the excessive flirting was a bit much. After that, I felt bad for treating you like I did. Even after I said those things you still kept coming on to me. There has to be some kind of admiration in that. What was it about me that you liked? My red hair? Or was it something different?" Alice rotated to face Marina from the side looking dead into her eyes. Edited by Valkain, 19 Aug 2016, 17:08.

Viktor "Akula" Carmine Vik sighed scratching the back of his helmet as he pointed out each hog as he spoke. "The problem we have right now is lessening casualties... after all we've seen what happens with just one shot from their weaponry. Turrets won't help us much but... we could put panels on the back to have everyone be in the last two while saving up on the front with only having a driver to protect. The rest of the supplies we'll use to armor up the fronts of the lead hogs which will only have drivers. They'll need to be able to just plow through the flora since we're focused on just getting the hell out. Of course that means if by some chance we have to have some of us run, it obviously can not be the personnel who would be slowest in making the journey." Vik sighed pacing about as he was in thought. "The problem becomes is that once the hogs quit out when they've hit enough well the drivers are going to have to hitch a ride on one of the other hogs and as I see it, we probably won't have enough room in the backs unless the turrets are removed and even then, well someone is gonna be sitting passenger when the second hog gives if not more and they''ll be the least protected of everyone." Vik sighed walking to one of the hogs giving it a good look over. "Best we can do for them is well, put plating on the side and make them climb into the top but I'd say it's almost better for them to be at least able to dodge because then it'll be the top of their heads with little mobility. So the forward two drivers are going to have the worst time if we run into opposition and being the one with the idea, I'll volunteer for the first spot. Just on that Marina will probably be taking the second driver spot so I won't do anything stupid, so it seems like a plan we can immediately go into action with, any objections?" Akula seemed to present himself much larger after his short speech, he seemed very confident in the plan would at least achieve his goal, low casualties and didn't seem to want much opposition to it. |

Kessler gave a subtle shrug. "We could make runs out to Devil's Pelican. It's near by right?" "It is." "Nice. We could form some blades, increase the survivability of these hogs. At least as far as terrain is concerned. We can make this work." "However, last known. That thing was crawling with those natives." "Yeah, but ultimately, we don't have a choice. We have to do this either way. If for nothing else for the supplies. You've got gear, food, medical craps that we are going to need at some point." ------------- Marina paused, her helmeted head tilting somewhat at first. The memory of that even flooded in and it slowly sunk in where she fit in with this recount of previous events...years ago. "A-Alice? Is...is it really you?" Her question was answered when airbrushed around. "You're alive..." She felt that familiar tingle in her left hand, anxiety flooding her mind briefly as she reached up and pulled her helmet from her head. She fought back tears, rejoicing in the revelation that her friend was alive...that she was here right in front of her. "You bitch," she couldn't help herself as she started crying and pulled the other woman into a hug. "W-why didn't you say anything sooner?" Alice's questions kind of got pushed aside, she would give them attention later though. |

Viktor "Akula" Carmine Akula sighed scratching at his helmet. His other hand absent mindedly took the saw away from it's maglock as he tapped it against his thigh. "I'll go, so Marina will and we should bring Team Ascalon, since they have more full on combat experience with the enemies and their weapons, plus the rest of us are more focused on the vehicles. We'll head on out immediately so we can work around the clock, time is really of the essence now. I hate getting them to move after losing a squaddie but it's the best option." Akula sent the message out to those who needed it that they were heading back to the crash site to get the supplies needed for the trip and to hustle it. They were definitely going to have a fight on their hands but there was no reason to drag their feet. |

Spartan Soval shifted his stance a bit. Waving my people with bulk of the defensive bit. Seems legit...though I wouldn't make the flame that the other team has the most experience. We've all engaged these hard targets...fuck these things. But this should be a strong point. Kessler nodded. "I'll stay as well...being the guy with the bandaids and itch cream. Anderson at go though, you'll have to ask him. ------- Marina let go of Alice take a step back to get a look at her. "You have...a lot of explaining to do. I mean really. But, once we get back...drinks on me yeah?" She paused for a moment rubbing the back of her head as embarrassment set in for her outburst. "For the record your red hair was kick ass," she teased. "Though this isn't bad either." Now Marina had to think about this. "How I was, how I behaved...I... It was how I shielded myself, how I coped with everything. That and I thought you were hot, I appreciate the finer things when the human body is concerned, I was seriously attracted to you. But that's neither here nor there." ![]() Alice Stryker Requiem Alice had countless emotions flooding around in her head. The main one was a dark loneliness. But Marina was her light in this protruding darkness. Maybe there was a reason for all this. Alice reconnecting with old friends after so many years. Especially in her current mental state. She needed an anchor. Who better than someone she hoped still liked her. What if she didn't return from this mission? It seemed like any moment could be Alice's last. So, Alice walked up to Marina. Grabbing her waist with her left hand, Alice swooped her other hand through Marina's arm resting it on her back. She would then go in to kiss her long lost friend. |

Marina rose a brow as Alice approached, placing a hand on her hip while helmet hung loosely from the fingertips of her other hand. "What want another hug?" She teased somewhat, though she was surprised by where the woman's hand stopped. She glanced down at Alice's hand on her waist, feeling another hand on her back. She looked up, seeing her close in. "W-!" Her free hand was placed on her former teammate's side, not pushing her away, but not pulling her closer either. Their lips connected, parting somewhat. The look of shock on Marina's face was impossible to miss. Alice and Marina shared a kiss that the red head dreamed about for a while back then, now it was happening with no recourse. Marina was married, had kids...struggling with their current situation...Though aware of it all. Alice was dealing with the lose of someone close. Marina pulled back somewhat, not wanting to seem hostile. "A-Alice wait..." She took a couple of deep breathes trying to collect herself. "W-wow...uh..." She struggled to get the mad blush off her face. Eyes darted left and right, a glare shooting towards Anderson who held a bit of a toothy grin in passing. It faded though and he quickly turned away, waltzing off. Marina cleared her throat, looking at Alice again. "Your timing really sucks red...well, so can't call you that anymore can I?" She chuckled lightly. "I um...I got married Alice...I can't...I can't be this...for you. It's not my place." She paused for a moment, wondering how to change the subject. Her hand moved from Alice's torso, no longer in full contact of her body. Marina glanced own at her helmet had just settled in the dirt after rolling a bit. She sighed, taking a step back. "I care for you a lot...I do, you're important to me and I want you to be in my life. I do. We're family, all ways will be and I love you. But everything is different now." She was careful not to hurt Alice. Hoping none of the other Spartans in this mixed three team fiasco had seen what all went down. "I would also, like you to be involved in my kids lives too...auntie Alice...has a nice ring to it right?" |

Viktor "Akula" Carmine Vik headed off the same direction Marina had gone in his memory. It wouldnt take long to find her at this place. However in the process Vik came across one of the other individuals he wanted to talk to in passing. As Anderson drew near Vik figured he might as well be a bit friendly with things going on as he stretched an arm put wrapping it around him having him turn back around in the process as they continued walking. "Well hey there Anderson... listen we have to make it out to the pelican from earlier for supplies. I want you, Marina and the rest of that other team with us... what gave you such a shit-eating grin?"Vik looked down questioningly. He could be heard in the distance by the other two spartans he was looking for as he neared but he hadn't spotted them yet more focused on the man he was semi-dragging along. |

![]() Alice Stryker Requiem A sense of humiliation came over Alice. She separated herself a good distance away from Marina. "I-I didn't know... I'm sorry." She couldn't stand to look into Marina's eyes right now. Alice turned away. "This isn't the place for this. I'm such an idiot. We need to focus on getting back to the infinity an-and. It's not fair for me to come back into your life and expect this." Alice threw her helmet on. She didn't know what to think of this situation. "Congratulations on the family." Alice went to comms walking quickly passed Marina. "Olympus, get ready to mount up. We have a job to do." Her tone shouldn't be taken as mad. But very sorrowful and almost in tears.
