The Spartans worked and secured the pilots, making sure they were alright to move. Anderson and Kessler got out without a hitch and took up defensive possitions, forming a perimeter around the downed bird.

Marina walked back into the hold, sliding her hand across Viktor's shoulder with enough force for him to feel that she was there. " Sorry for freaking out, I don't know what happened. Hundreds of drops, much worse than that amenities lose my cool like that. I'm sorry."

She grabbed her Spartan laser, placing it on her back. She quickly have her M7S a speedy functions check before placing it on her thigh and gripping the MA5D in both hands. "You're not having a claustrophobic moment are you?" She teased him a bit. "Still plenty lucky though...we made it after all."

With that said she released the emergency lever, blowing the hatch open and releasing the hatch. Marina grabbed a crate from the under seat webbing and pulled it out with her.

Viktor jumped a bit when Marina put her hand on his shoulder. He kicked out some of the supplies before making sure the extinguisher was still operable.
"No it's fine, I know why you were, believe me, it takes sometime to get used to, worrying about what happens to others when you go." He grunted however when she noted his fear, of course he was having one of those moments he wanted to get the hell out. Once he could see the open air again he walked on out heading to the sides as he began to try and put out the fires.

Viktor's mind raced as he tried to take in their surroundings, some kind of jungle, he wasn't really focusing on the temperature or any grand detail. He was worried about preventing an explosion and what potential threats might be out there. "Someone try to get in contact with the Infinity or another Pelican, I don't want us to end up being damn Neanderthals doing guerrilla warfare for half a year waiting for rescue to come. At the least we can head to that damn location they were so focused on us getting there, maybe some others might be there or heading to it. Might get enough shit to fix this mess too..."

"Yeah, on it boss." Kessler started working the comms to contact the Infinity, or maybe any of the teams that came down with them...hopefully they were fairing as well, and living.

Anderson went to check on the pilots, ready to provide aid if needed, but the duo seemed to be doing well considering.

Marina was at work opening the crate and getting the gear situated and split between the four rucks. Ammo, grenades, food, water, survival equipment, maintenance tools. They had what they needed to sustained survival for up to a week between all of them, maybe more if they were smart with their supplies.

She gotbuo, walking around to Kessler and Anderson, dropping a ruck near them. She kept hers and Viktor's close by as he worked at keeping the fires at bay. "We're good for a while, but we'll need to make contact with allies as soon as possible. Despite that we can continue our given mission, or abort it if the team leader so choses."

Viktor grumbled as he continued to put out the fires. Soon as the fire extinguisher became low and began to merely leak the fire repellent he tossed it right at the flames hard as he good. Of course it made a loud bang but fortunately due to it cracking from the impact it didn't just explode. Viktor took a few deep breaths trying to calm down.
"The scientists might be near the mission location and they aren't exactly equipped or prepared for combat. Besides we can't stay here forever, we need equipment to fix the damn bird. So we'll just get going..."

Viktor sighed again heading to his ruck. He slipped it on as well as rechieving his launcher before turning to them. He only checked the tacpad for a second to see he was pointed in the right direction. I've already marked the crash site so it's not gonna be hard to come back... if the pilots can walk get them up, if not we'll have to take turns, I'll take first shift with one if both someone's carrying my shit, period."

Anderson have a nod. " The pilots are good to move and armed."

Kessler stood up from his knelt position and properly held his weapon. "Understood boss, but that said. This site could become a hot bed, no doubt the covenant saw us come in. We don't want to be here when they come. it'll bog us down for a little while."

Marina placed her own ruck on and took a few steps out, looking around. "This fog is dense... True the Science team did have a Spartan team attached to them, but we don't know what state their in. And our target is more than a skip away."

"Then I guess we should move," the pilot chimed in.

Marina wasn't so sure about the pilots ability to make the trip without a hitch. The Spartans would need to slow their pace and probably take a few more breaks than normal. She looked over toward Viktor. "I'll take point. Direction?"

Viktor sighed trying to get the right cording test weighing their odds on the path taken. Marina was right visibility was shit from the fog. They could use that to their advantage but then it went full circle with the pilots. He pointed Northeast as he slipped the launcher with his ruck and readied his saw. This was going to be a long one.
"We need to head northeast and the terrain isn't exactly great for hoofing it. I understand were a big target right now, it's why when the pilots need a rest some take my shit and I'll careyy them. I want us to get to the objective before anything else happens scientist team or not. If we are where were supposed to be then it gets a hell of a lot easier for us."

Viktor sighed as he begun the trek taking his time. He wasn't excited about the pilots but they were already slowed down for them they couldn't stop. It was six of them and a whole lot of aliens out there that wanted to kill them. It might hurt their pride but he'd hope they'd chose their lives overnit. "How the hell did everything go to shit so fast...?"

The fireteam rallied up, getting thebpikots near the center of their formation. Kessler brought up the rear, with Anderson possitioned behind Viktor.

After receiving a direction Marina brought up her MA5D and started moving. She kep fifteen mergers ahead of the group, taking her time in choosing their path. Her hud switched to thermal and infrared, occasionally cycling to other options to cut through the thick fog. The forest itself was unlike anything she had seen before, twisting and winding plant life.

Viktor continued the trek a bit distracted as he tried to catch any changes in intel. His tacpad was cracked near the bring of being inoperable. The screen itself had even almost shattered upon closer examination. Viktor sighed rubbing the front of his helmet with his free hand saw dangling to the ground. He just needed to ignore it and focus on the current objective.

There'd hopefully be equipment at the site and even better the scientists and fellow spartan team. Then they'd have about a week before a lack of resources would make them desperate. It all just sounded like they'd have to get to the ship if nothing else improved but at that point... wouldn't they already be doomed? Viktor shook his head raising his saw, this was going to be a long walk.

Having traveled approximately five miles on foot, the landscape wasn't changing much. In fact the thick brush begin to become a bit of a problem. While the Spartan's would have no trouble pushing through, the Pilots were suffering, getting stuck on several obstacles. This resulted in the pilots having to travel behind two of the Spartan's and follow the trail they made.

Marina held up her hand to halt the group. Anderson and Kessler taking a knee and scanning their sectors. Her hand sifted through the brush in front of her, pushing a vine and branch from her path to find an almost smoldering clearing. There seemed to be a lot of heat rising from the ground, and the sudden void of plant life in that area left Marina scratching her head. There were no signs of a fire, or an impact of any sorts...the landscape just changed.

Marina gave a slight tilt her her helmeted head, linking her view with Viktor. "What do you make of this?"

Viktor sighed. He had to make so much damn noise to make it easier for the rest to find a good path. The one positive of being so big, anyone following your footsteps didn't have much to go through. He stopped as did everyone else, kneeling didn't do him much good but he did it anyways only looking of about normal height for a human.

When Marina showed him the image Viktor's brow furrowed. Didn't look like plasma and there was no debris... it might be something to do with the planet itself, potential geyser or something with the geology he didn't care to find out.
"We go around and keep a wide distance, if it stretches on too far we'll use the smallest strip to cross. If we have to cross we'll have to help the pilots across, don't know if it'll burn right through material or not yet. We cant risk taking forever were leacing them a perfectly good trail to follow us."
