Hello boys, I know we've been wanting to do a tabletoprpg online game for a while now. For various reasons, it never materialized. I believe right now would be a good time to try it again, with a slightly different format than what people expect when they think "tabletoprpg". Before we get into the format, let me just say that this whole thing is an experiment and a work in progress. Personally, while I have a vast experience as a DM, I have never tried doing it in English. I know you will object that my English is passable, but in roleplay, the richness of the text, of the presentation, matters. As such, I will plunge myself into good English literature (yes, it does exist) to try and refresh my mind. On the other hand, all of you are new at tabletoprpg. It means that, while we can safely say you all like RP/G, tabletoprpg might not necessarily be your cup of tea. You could also dislike the settings or my way of DM'ing. It happens and there's no shame if it is the case. The format now. It's simple, really. As it stands, the group (that's the three (maybe four) of you) will start on their own, split and isolated. You'll hear more about that. It serves a dual purpose. First, there'll be a solid storyline element to it and it'll further reinforce your links. Or so I hope. We truly never know, as tabletoprpgs are the true sandboxes of the rp world. Second, it'll give each of you some time to familiarize yourself with the game and its flow, your class, some rules. As such, the first few sessions will be one-on-one, with me as the DM and you as the player. We'll use a few tools I'll talk about more later (dice rollers, etc.). Part of it will happen through vocal chat and probably another part through written chat, likely on this forum. That's it for now. I'll post more later tonight. We're not yet at the point where you are ready to game. You will have some mandatory reading to do: the basic lore of Golarion (the world), Varisia (your starting region) and Riddleport (your starting city). You'll have to familiarize yourself with the core concepts of Pathfinder; the classes, the races, the spells and skills, feats and traits. How fights work. You won't have to learn everything and it'll look like a lot at first - trust me, it will - but your background in RPG will definitely help you. Your (not very friendly) GM, Yev. |
