Guthix God of balance. Neither good nor evil, he does what we could call both good and bad in his duties to keep balance. He was around millenia before the other gods, and came to Runescape (the world) before anything inhabited it. He established a natural order, and when it was peaceful, he slept ... for a couple millenia. When he awoke, Saradomin and Zamorak were present and warring, causing much imbalance and destruction to the world. Guthix intervened and the gods swore not to interfere directly with the world. Followers: Taverley Druids, Seers, Gnomes, Varrock Gypsy, Chaos Druids, Dwarves, Filliman Tarlock (Nature Spirit Quest), Junna the snake (Tears of Guthix Quest) Symbol: ~~~~ (vertical squiggily line) Colors: green, cyan Special items: Guthix full helm, Guthix platebody, Guthix platelegs, Guthix kiteshield, Guthix staff, Druids robe (top), Druids robe (bottom), Guthix cape, Silver sickle (the weapon and symbol of HIS druids), Book of balance Place of worship: Taverley Druid circle, Nature alter in the swamp Zamorak God of chaos, war, and destruction. Originally of the Mahjarrat tribe, he invaded Guthix's world of Geilinor (Runescape) and managed to become a god. Saradomin's rival, he does evil deeds and controls the evil-doers of Runescape... he can also taint those who are 'impure' with sin to drive them crazy and make them evil. Followers of Zamorak are considered dangerous, like a cult, and are usually shunned by Runescape society. It was not always this way, but his followers the dark wizards burned the first Wizard Tower and ended the Golden Age. Followers: Chaos druids, Chaos dwarf, Chaos druid warriors, Zamorak mages, Zamorak Monks, Darkwizards, Necromancers, Lucien, demons, vampires, werewolves, Hazeel, Iban, Zamorakian mage Symbol: (\/) Colors: red, black Special items: Zamorak full helm, Zamorak platebody, Zamorak platelegs, Zamorak kiteshield, Zamorak staff, Zamorak robe (top), Zamorak robe (bottom), Zamorak cape, Unholy symbol, Unholy book and Zamorak wine. Places of worship: Chaos altars in Wilderness, Varrock altar southeast of Aubury's Magic Shop, Chaos altar north of Doric, Agility dungeon and Underground Pass and the Altar north of Goblin Village. Saradomin God of pleasantry, order and wisdom. The second invader of Geilinor (Runescape). Protects peace and can bestow special powers on those who pray to him. The most popular god, the majority of Runescape citizens are followers of Saradomin. Followers: Monks, Abbott langley, Saradomin mage, Paladins, Warrior women, Strange old man, the Myreque, Wise old man, Zealot, most Runescape citizens. Symbol: <|> (4-pointed star) Colors: white, blue, yellow Special items: Saradomin full helm, Saradomin platebody, Saradomin platelegs, Saradomin kiteshield, Saradomin staff, Monk's robe (top), Monk's robe (bottom), Saradomin cape, Holy symbol, Holy book. Places of worship: Monastery, Ardougne church, Varrock church (northeast), Port Sarim church, Lumbrige church, Seers' Village church, cave through the Well of Voyage, Entrana (where he first arrived in this world). Minor Deities Zaros: A god of unknown alignment worshipped in the Second Age. During that time his followers had a magnificent and highly magical empire in northeast Geilinor. I suspect that he was the god of magic, since his followers had access to such forces three ages before the official discovery of the Rune Essence, but this cannot yet be confirmed. His champion, and possibly half-mortal son, was Azzanadra. During the Third Age the empire was utterly destroyed by Saradomin and Zamorak, who feared and envied Zaros's power. Some remains can be found but most were buried deep beneath the earth. Bob the Cat is also rumored to be Zaros. If you wish to take a historical journey, you may attempt the Digsite Quest, or visit such places as the Edgeville Dungeon, the ruins in the Wilderness, and even the Wilderness Agility Course. Followers: Desert Bandits, Goblins, Azzanadra Symbol: (+) a large circle with a cross in the middle Colors: Most monuments to him are sandy colored, but his staff is black and purple. Special items: Talisman of zaros, Ancient Staff Places of worship: unknown, or destroyed, or buried, The Digsite and perhaps others ------------------------- Armadyl: A good god, though he differs on a few points with Saradomin. He's not very widely worshipped but he is in good health. Armadyl seems to take a more passive approach to maintaining order and virtue than Saradomin. Learn more about Armadyl during the Temple of Ikov Quest. Followers: Armadyl Guardians, Larissa, possibly other Fremenniks Symbol: unknown Colors: white, cyan Special items: Staff of armadyl, Pendant of armadyl Places of worship: Temple of Ikov. The Digsite and perhaps others. ------------------------- Icthlarin: Menaphite god of the dead. He is generally concerned with making sure proper burial rites are given, souls reach the underworld, and tombs are not desecrated. Learn about him during the Icthlarin's Little Helper Quest. Followers: People of Sophanem. Symbol: Ankh Colors: Unknown Special items: Catspeak amulet is loosely affiliated. Places of worship: Sophanem ------------------------- Amascut: Menaphite goddess of destruction, also known as 'the Devourer'. Not truly evil, but she does whatever is needed to destroy. She fears cats. Followers: Menaphite Thugs Symbol: Upside-down Ankh Colors: Her hair and eyes are red. Special items: None in particular. Places of worship: None so far. Demi-gods Iban: Honorary son of Zamorak. He took over a trade cavern near Ardougne and turned it into a portal of the damned. It is called the Underground Pass, and is fabled to turn anyone mad who lingers in it too long. In the Underground Pass Quest, you must destroy Iban using a voodoo Doll, although it is rumored that he is still alive. Followers: Iban disciples, Soulless, Chaos druids, Chaos dwarf, Chaos druid warriors, Zamorak mages, Zamorak Monks, Dark wizards, Necromancers. Symbol: none Colors: red, black Special items: Staff of iban Place of worship: Underground Pass. His throne is in the room that houses the Well of Voyage, Chaos altars in wilderness. ------------------------- Lucien: Rumoured to be a human manifestation of Zaros, but a Council member has stated that the two are completely unaffiliated. He is of the Mahjarrat Tribe. He hangs around Ardougne's tavern, trying to find the entrance to the fabled Temple of Ikov. In the Temple of Ikov Quest, he gives you his pendant, granting you acess to the Chamber of Fear. During the quest you can switch to follow Armadyl and destroy Lucien, or steal the Staff of armadyl and hand it over to Lucien. Symbol: none Colors: black Special items: Pendant of lucien Places of worship: none ---------------------------- Lord Drakan: Lord Drakan is the Lord and Ruler of Morytania, he is believed to be a Mahjarrat and to have strong connections with Zamorak. He requires a blood tithe from all humans or they will be punished severely. He came in the second age and a follower of him was Charos, Charos was an expert diplomat, and could control the Weak Minded. However, he tried to take over Lord Drakan's power and was punished. He is believed to be dead. He came to Runescape in the second age which helps support that he is a Mahjarrat. Worshippers: All Vampires, Werewolves, and most Humans in Morytania. Symbol: None Colors: Unknown, but thought to be Blood Red Special items: None Places of worship: none ---------------------------- Hazeel: a Mahjarrat follower of Zamorak.
