The Administration at the San Andreas Highway Patrol acknowledge that there are many police clans in existence, and want you to be sure that when you apply, you've selected the right clan for you. The purpose of a ride-along is to allow prospective police officers to experience an SAHP patrol or scenario prior to submitting an application. To sign up for an ride-along, please submit an Xbox LIVE message (no voice messages, please) to an SAHP member indicating that you would like to participate. A Sergeant will inform you of the date and time of the next patrol or scenario, and ensure that you are invited to join the patrol that evening. You will be assigned to ride-along with a Field Training Officer (FTO) who will answer any questions you might have about the SAHP Clan and/or procedures. The following rules apply to potential members participating in ride-alongs: 1. You are expected to dress appropriately. Appropriate dress includes a business shirt, tie, dress pants, and dress shoes (no tennis shoes, fatigues, shorts, short sleeves, etc.) 2. Enable "passive mode" prior to joining the lobby for the patrol. 3. Listen to and abide by the orders of the Field Training Officer (FTO) with whom you are riding along. 4. Do not operate any vehicles, weapons, or materials you may find in the patrol. You must remain inside the patrol vehicle at all times. 5. Your Field Training Officer (FTO) will assist you in logging in to Zello, a mobile application that the LSDoP uses to simulate police communications. Your microphone should be turned off unless you are talking to your Field Training Officer (FTO). |
