What do you miss about TS3 that isn't in other Sims games?

CASt is the only thing about TS3 that I really miss. I don't tend to play TS3 because TS2 suits my play style better, and for some reason on my old laptop I kept getting CTD.
I loved being able to match everything. Especially with the clothing.

I really wish I'd bought Sims 2. I was into Sims 1, and couldn't really afford to move on to Sims 2.
But then just as I thought I could afford the basegame, the promotions for a new Sims version were coming out. CASting was the BIG draw for me. Matching textures and colours. MY GOD, it was about time!
I remember I loved the idea of an open world, but seriously, I was manic about the idea of CASting.
So I waited for Sims 3, and let Sims2 slip right through my hands.
I'm sure I'd miss the open world...but from what I can see, it's not that difficult to recolour items for décor. I think with Sims 2, I wouldn't really miss CASting all that much.

Open world. I actually like how TS4 hoods are broken up into multiple semi-open areas and you can travel between (with a loading screen) but I wish they had made it so that we didn't have to deal with loading screens when we travel from house to house.
I sort of miss CAST but I can deal with it. I like bedding in TS4 better because CC makers can make it look like real, intricate bedding with cute details like lace, rather than just using one seamless pattern.

There's a lot I enjoy in Sims 3 that isn't in the other games. I could generate a list and then it would be likely that I'd forget something. The scenery for one is stunning. It really is so lovely. And I love Island Paradise and the opportunity to play Sims under the surface of the water. It's so relaxing. I love the horses and the wild birds, frogs, and insects. Oh, and the snakes and little furry critters! You could do more with the little animals than you could in either Sims 1 or 2.
I enjoy fairies and the whole storied history in the town with all the magical creatures. I love the gardens and the gardening actions. They were more fleshed out than in Sims 2. I loved the variety of recipes and the ability to increase ability tweak the cooking if your Sim was a natural cook. I loved the attic at the Goths, the catacombs, the instruments, and the opportunity to learn different types of music. I love trying to get to know and capture a unicorn! And it's soooo cool to be able to ride a bike across the country or to choose jogging or walking when going some place. For that matter, I could have my Sim ride a horse. I loved some of the careers, especially detective, fire fighter, day care provider, technical director (was that programmer) and journalist. I loved the variety of ambitions and the large stones your Sim could sculpt. There were so many toys in Sims 3. I love that Sims can draw, not just paint.
Wait. Why am I talking in the past tense? I still own the game. One of my favorite things to do is to see how much my Sim fairies can make from selling their finds in the arcade machine.

Open World and CASt. And I really enjoy having minor things like the laundry, haven't found that in earlier games, not to mention TS4.

Emancipation, developing on many terrains, except for that one. Than it must be suddenly very old fashioned...

Could they get a divorce in this game? I would have loved that to be in the sims 2.
