What am I supposed to have in my profile? It's simple, really. We want a snapshot of your character. The minimum requirements are pretty straight forward: - An actual face (like a photograph) for a profile picture. --- Supernatural is not an anime, and not a cartoon. It's not a video game or in need of a high fantasy painting. It's supposed to portray real people doing real things on a very human level. Your profile picture should portray that. We will give exception to very realistically painted art or if you are playing a character that there simply is no photograph to portray it like a hellhound. - A snapshot description of your character. --- Name, Nicknames, Age, Species, Place of Residence, Height, etc. (Basically anything another character would instantly notice about your character without beta-reading) - Your skillset. --- Are you a hunter? What do you hunt? --- What's your occupation when you aren't hunting? --- If you're not a human what can you do? - Your weaknesses. --- Basically a snapshot for accountability purposes of what your character is weak to. If you're a human, perhaps you're scared of bugs! Monsters will have a listed set of weaknesses that will be required to be seen in your profile. This is mainly for GMing purposes and by no means should be used against the character unless the character using these weaknesses against you is educated on them in character. - Major settings. --- If your character is frequently found in a place, we need to know where that place is. This will allow characters to gain an idea of where to find your character if you haven't come to them. - A brief history. --- Tell us about yourself! It doesn't have to be a from-day-one, but we want to see who we're dealing with here! History can do a lot for character development, and can really affect the ways characters make decisions. Do I have to make my profile shiny like I see a lot of character profiles? Absolutely not! As long as you include those basics into the profile, you're fine. If you want a shiny profile, and you do not know how to make a shiny profile, contact Agent Beyonce and ask him very nicely and he might help you out in getting you set up with one. He won't make it for you, but he will get you set up with the basics so you can get the profile you want and need. What if I make a canon character? Everyone knows my character! Do I really have to make the effort? Yes you do. We want to see some level of effort and dedication to the character instead of slapping a face into a profile window and calling it a day. When applying for a canon character, you will be asked a series of questions that will likely help you along during your profile's construction. These questions will vary from character to character but what you will be asked will be very similar to questions like these: - What season have you watched up until? - What is Dean's current mental state? - What is his relationship status, including family, not necessarily in regards to romance? - Why is he at where he's at? - What are his enduring struggles in regards to these relationships? - Where do you see him headed? - What do you imagine his best possible 'the end' with current canon arrangements would be? We ask these for the sake of making sure you know the character you are going to play and will be a good match for the character to maintain canon in a fanfiction world. There are no 100% correct answers to the questions you will be asked, but it allows the review to be quick, painless, and is a far better gauge of understanding than a simple sample post. **This FAQ is under construction and will be added to as more questions come along.** |
