Been listening to Taake after they were recommended to me buy a guy at work. Not what I really go for, but I don't mind it. Can't really listen to them for hours on end, but a few songs here and there and I enjoy it.

Gorillaz, James Murphy, and Andre 3000 in one song.

Awesome. That's all I can say.

It's Saint Patrick's Day. The Pogues, Flogging Molly, and Dropkick Murphys are all on the menu today.

I recommend to every hip-hop fan in here to listen to Lil B. Discovered this guy recently and he's actually quite good. I mean, he owns swag.

Ahh, Taake, awesome. Definitely one of the best Norwegian black metal bands. I love Hoest's vocals, and I love the Western dialect. The Western dialects are the most beautiful and folky dialects to sing in IMO, the hard raspy Rs are the shit. If you recall that Norwegian song I entered in a SC a while back, "Margit Hjukse" by Gåte, the vocalist sang in a similar dialect. Baws.
Which songs (or albums) have you been listening to? If you haven't already, I definitely recommend checking out "...Doedskvad".

I've been listening to a good bit of Bob Dylan lately. It's good.

Also, my friend lent me Rammstein and Ramones CDs, along with some other songs, so that's cool.

My uncle was working at this Mexican guy's house, and the guy gave him a CD. Family Style by The Vaughan Brothers. I really like this CD. Especially the songs where Jimmie sings.

Coachella.

Azaelia Banks is quite literally one of the least talented artists I have ever heard. I don't understand how indie fans can have such shitty taste in... I guess everything else. Childish Gambino was also quite bad, but not THAT bad.

We Were Promised Jetpacks is pretty legit.

Everything else has been meh. Listenable, sure, but nothing that I'd listen to on the regular.

Waiting, of course, for Explosions in the Sky tonight and Florence + the Machine tomorrow night. I guess Manchester Orchestra and The Shins mite b cool. May as well start drinkan.

EDIT: The TBA artist tonight/this year is Radiohead. Fucking dull, PASS.

Speaking of which:

If not the worst, it's at least top three.

For all the hype they/she seem to have gotten, the music tries way too fucking hard to be quirky and sounds like a mess. Switched channels quickly.

Well, one more Coachella post for the road.

God Tier:

-Florence + the Machine fucking killed it. They had an amazing setlist, the performances were great, Florence herself got the crowd fucking hyped, and all that good shit. Played my favorite songs (Only If For A Night, What The Water Gave Me) rather early, too. The only real flaw was the lack of "Seven Devils", but whatever.

-Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg were Sunday's TBA act. Well, let's just say they had a crazy show, though I missed the first half hour of it. They had a fucking holographic Tupac there. I don't know how they pulled that sorcery off, but it was fucking awesome. That alone made this one of the best performances I saw. Eminem also showed up and played some of his shit. Naturally got "Forgot About Dre" out of this, which kicked ass. There were also some other guys, but I don't really give a fuck about them.

Only Fiddy (he still lives, I guess) and Wiz Khalifa (who I thankfully missed) dragged this down at all.

-Explosions in the Sky kicked so much ass last night. I wish they had played "Trembling Hands" because that song is intense, but you can't win them all. Should listen to them some moar, because as much as I like them (and really post-rock in general), I have issues with recognizing most of the songs. >.>

Good Tier:

-We Were Promised Jetpacks kicked a lot of ass, too. This festival tends to invite more "mellow" acts, as it were, and while I don't mind this, hearing something that actually sounded like ROCK was pretty sweet. The vocals sucked, but the music makes up for that. Definitely checking more of these guys out; they were probably the best act I had never heard.

-Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. It's probably most accurate to call them "country with a rock edge". I don't mean that in the Rascal Flatts way; having an electric guitar does not suddenly mean you're influenced by rock. I mean they actually had a legit rock sound. Awesome group, gonna have to check more out.

-Laura Marling was pretty good, too. I'm normally not huge on indie folk, but I tend to enjoy it more with female vocals. Such was the case with what I heard from her.

-Manchester Orchestra was pretty coo'. I had already heard them from someone's mixtape, but what I heard here reaffirms that I need to listen to more of them.

-Destroyer, in spite of their name, was easily one of the most chill acts at the entire festival. I rather enjoyed these guys.

-St. Vincent was pretty good, too. I liked what I heard, but I was way too busy jumping between channels to get a full impression. Will have to listen to moar.

-Of course, The Shins were pretty good too. I haven't listened to them in quite some time, but they sound as good as I remember them sounding. Will have to give the new album a spin at the least.

Meh Tier:

-I don't understand all the Bon Iver hype. Sure, they're *listenable*, but nowhere near as great as the internets would have me believe.

-I don't know if I really like Andrew Bird or not. Until I determine whether or not I do, I'll just say he's meh.

Shit Tier:

-Noah Gallagher's High Flying Birds sounded a lot like Oasis, who I don't care for in the first place. That and it's a fucking Gallagher, eat a cock.

-Childish Gambino. I changed the channel pretty quickly once I heard his horribad rap. Pretty sure there were superior things going on at that time.

-tUnE-yArDs, for trying way too hard to be quirky. The music just sounded awful.

-Azaelia Banks. Already said what I have to say on her (read: she's shit), so it's only fitting she goes here.

-Gotye, for not showing like a little bitch. I wanted to hear him, too, and see if he was worthy of all the hype he's getting. Nope. Gonna have to check him out on Spotify.
