Wovenwar anyone? And For All Those Sleeping, TWA. Black Tide is pretty good but they sound a lot like BFMV. |

If you want Black Tide that doesn't sound like bullshit derivative metalcore, check out their first album, Light From Above. That album is a solid thrash album, so delightfully old-school. |

I HAVE RETURNED
|
I actually love both albums. Light from Above is definitely a badass thrasher. Post Mortem is more of a modern hard rock/metal album with a few songs that sort of lean towards a metalcore sound. They've released 2 EPs that are somewhat a mixture of both albums. Either way, Black Tide has potential. I'm looking forward to a comeback and a new album. |

Speaking of new metalcore, I'm stoked about the reunion of Atreyu. |

Don't misread me. I love metalcore. The first wave of it, anyway. Killswitch Engage, Trivium before In Waves, All That Remains. Those bands helped define my own guitar playing. What metalcore has become is a watered down, bullshit, oh-that-guy-did-it-now-we-have-to breakdown core. None of it really has that raw aggression and technicality that made the early stuff great. There's an over-reliance on breakdowns in modern metalcore and especially deathcore that just makes for shitty songs. They focus too much on how to get the crowd involved in a fucking mosh pit that they forget to write a song. /rant |

Two years ago I was listening to slayer on repeat and pretty much only listened to rock and metal. Ice bow been constantly listening to Bastille, demi lovato, and Katy Perry.....I don't what happened, but I mind this change...... And no Bastille want too big of a jump, but they've pretty much become my new favorite band |

Finally have a chance to jam some of the albums I have grabbed over the last year. Animals as Leader's The Joy Of Motion, Arch Enemy's War Eternal, Periphery's Clear, and some local metal bands out of Columbus like The Conquering's A Home We Lost and Dismemberment's Embrace the Dark. So much goodness. |

Listening to The Water(s) by Mick Jenkins and it is fucking outstanding. I was pretty unsure about his voice initially but it grew on me. The beats are also some of the best I've heard in a while. I also finally got around to listening to Cage The Elephant and they're pretty damn good. Edited by kmr95, Aug 20 2014, 08:54 PM.

Those names are hilarious. Joey Bada$$ just wins the name game. |
