Come to Microsoft. We have cookies.

You also have a shitty $60/year subscription

It also doesn't get hacked. But who am I kidding? No one here ever has anything nice to say about 360s.

Googling "Xbox Live hack" says otherwise. Account stealing seems to be a favorite pastime over there. Stop trying to dress the 360 up as some sorta impenetrable fortress just because the PS3 suffered a really big hack once (and it took five years before it actually happened).

SHINEDOWN 01!!!!!!!!

Second Chance (XO)
Crow And The Butterfly (O)
Bully (O)

Bully has to wait until the 10th for US PS3 users. I asked HMXHenry why and i will tell you here when i get an awnser. I would be happy to get absolutely anything from Shinedown and with Amaryllis coming on Tuesday, I figured this would be their week. I had figured Second Chance and Bully would be there, Crow And The Butterfly is the surprise as I thought Sound Of Madness or Fly From The Inside would have replaced it. Buying all three soon after the 10th

HMXHenry regarding my Bully question

There was an issue with the DLC submission. Sony actually has a 4 week test period, so they've actually agreed to rush this to make sure there's only a 2 week delay. These issues are incredibly uncommon and we'll double down to make sure delays are less likely in the future.

Simple enough. A wait of four weeks would not have made me happy. 2 weeks is fair enough.

Sucks having to wait two weeks, but I'll get the pack when it's available. I've always liked Shinedown, but lately I've got to say thier pretty damn good.

I am tired of arguing about consoles. I got a 360 simply because I enjoyed their exclusives (Read: Halo) more than any of the PS3 exclusives, which (IMO) range from meh to awful. Almost all 3rd party titles are for both 360 and PS3, so I have no problems with the 360's game library. As for JRPGs (which is what a lot of your PS3ers site when claiming superiority), between my Wii and 360 and the upcoming Wii U (which will no doubt get more 3rd party support, which likely means more JRPGs) I have plenty to choose from.

As for XBL costing money, I really don't see why that's such a big deal for you guys. Almost every service out there you have to pay to use it. Why is it such a bad thing that XBL also costs money? Because the PSN is free? Well, okay then. I would rather XBL be free too, but that's not how it is. And honestly, $60 a year (which is only $5 a month) is not a bad deal at all. That's a better rate than Netflix, a service that I'm sure you're all subscribed to, and you only get to watch movies and shows with that. For what you get with XBL, I think it's well worth the money.

Now, for the DLC. I'll be getting "Second Chance" definitely, possibly "The Crow and the Butterfly". It seems too soon after Three Days Grace to release radio-friendly hard rock, though.

Pack name is titled "Sounds of Shinedown Pack"

Do they have to make it a lame title? Shinedown 01 would have worked fine. And that is probably what I plan on calling this as well.

Not gonna argue exclusives here because that is purely a matter of opinion, but...

That's exactly it. The competition offers the same service for a better price (hell, no price), so why wouldn't I prefer it over Xbox Live? Especially since I'm a person who doesn't use online gaming that much (I'll usually only have one or two games that I play online on), I can't be bothered having to pay a subscription.

Also, trying to cancel Xbox Live account is a load of shit. Auto-renew (automatically charging a year of XBL when it runs out) should not exist, or at the very least, Microsoft should give a person the option to turn that off when someone makes an account. Hell, even a warning when making an account would be nice, because I didn't even know auto-renew existed until I got an email months after we already got rid of the 360. And I could not cancel it because of how asinine the process was. Having to call a number during certain hours of the day and give information I couldn't possibly obtain (like the 360's serial number)? Fuck you, Microsoft. So I got charged for a service I couldn't even use.

Flash forward a year later, and it looks like Microsoft has gotten better about it. Cancelling an Xbox Live account is still impossible, but they at least allow auto-renew to be turned off from the XBL website. So I have plenty reason to hate the 360's online service thanks to sneaky tactics from a bastard company. I won't have to deal with this shit on PSN (or whatever it's called now) because it's free.

Anyways, this conversation should probably be moved since this is getting off-topic.

To be fair, I don't have to deal with it because I'm not trying to cancel. >.>

Even so, I do agree that the process is stupid and shouldn't be like that.

EDIT: And I was really arguing that the price of XBL is fair. While the PSN's price is in fact better, XBL's price is still reasonable. Especially since I play online regularly with my friends.

Auto renew? Never had a problem with that o.o

DLC getting cancelled is seriously bullshit, though.

I wasn't trying to dress it up. I was just making a joke about cookies and then everyone else has to go all "hurrdurrthreeshitty". I don't see the point. I don't attack PS3's whenever someone so much as mentions its name.

Also pro-tip: use prepaid cards for subscriptions. Works fine.

Honestly the only thing I'd want XBL for is ESPN3. I don't play games online very often at all, and the other services are pretty meh to me. But given that ESPN3 is free if you're on certain internet providers (which aren't around here, but whatever), along with the small fact that all I'd really use it for is watching LSU games in baseball/basketball, I don't see why I'd pay $60 a year for the service.

On the topic of $60 a year, sites like Amazon and Newegg often have subscriptions for 40-50% of that price. I recently saw 12 months of XBL for $36 on Amazon. I know that's $3 a month when you break it down, but it's not like most people set aside $3-5 a month and then pay for it at the end of the year.

I wonder why they don't let you pay each month. I prefer such models; the payments are smaller and more palatable to me, even if I spend a little more in the long run. I won't miss $5 a month, but I'd definitely miss $60 a month, even if that gets me a year of service.

360 is objectively superior for Rock Band, but RBN wasn't even my biggest consideration when deciding what system to get. A few more awesome songs versus the games I want to play? Easy decision.

Anyway, as for this week's and next week's DLC, *yaaaaaaaaaaawn*.

Alright, I got butthurt.

I wish people would stop hating the things I like. It gets annoying after awhile.

Also, I had no clue BRODYQUEST was on RBN. WHY HAVEN'T I GOTTEN THIS YET?!?!?
