I never used conjuration much with my mage in Skyrim. I did use it quite a bit in Oblivion however. Yeah, Spellbreaker is amazing. I wont return to him, I already saved over the save files with him :P I think a mage character shouldn't only use desctruction, because as you said the damage output from desctruction magic isn't really anything to write home about. But combining it with conjuration and other schools makes it great to dish additional damage. @ducks I kind of have the same problem from time to time. I guess we're just spoiled with our selection :P |

@Paal, yeah, that is totally true. I have literally every game under the sun. BTW, I decided on another run through of Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning. I now have both DLC packs too. |

I just got Rockband 1. It feels good to play all these new songs, even if the engine (for me at least) is kind of finicky. |

My friend's hosting a big Terraria "Capture the Gem" game tonight. I signed on too late for the first game, so now I'm waiting for it to end so I can join the second. Eight people, including me, are there so it's gonna be fun. Last time we had four (2v2) so it was pretty much one guy attacked and one defended on each team, but this sounds like it will have more variety. |

Played a good amount of Assassin's Creed last night. I wonder how each city seems to have infinite guards. (Other than video game magic of course.) I mean really, whenever I'm rescuing a civilian, it's perfectly normal to see at least five guards in the general vicinity. Given that there are 10-12 civilians to rescue each time I go to a new area, well, that's 50-60 dead guards. At least. For a game predicated on stealth, it sure seems to have a lot of outright killing fuckers. The counter kills pretty much make the game easy mode, but some of them are pretty damn gory. Speaking of combat, it seems to come down to mashing square/getting dem counter kills, which makes it dull after a while. Speaking of stealth, you'd think someone would remember, "hey, that guy in the hugeass white cloak or whatever the fuck it is is murdering everything". Idk, I find it the antithesis of stealth. It stands out. There are few times where you have to blend into a crowd or anything. I'm probably overthinking things, but still. Things like this make me think it's a violence simulator as opposed to a stealth-based game. The dissonance is pretty weird when you have guys talking at you about not drawing attention to yourself and shit like that. Does the series get better about this, does it require *actual* stealth in later games? Also, FUCK THE BEGGARS. I get that huge cities have beggars and all, but they tend to get in my way and my way only. What the fuck screams "rich" about Altair as opposed to, I don't know, AN ENTIRE PLACE CALLED THE "RICH" DISTRICT? I mean really. And the assholes that punch me if I get anywhere near them are even more annoying. Wish I could just kill these fucks. That said, I do like the game when I'm not fighting constantly. The cities are pretty expansive and fun to explore. There are a few missions that require something resembling stealth (mostly the assassination missions informers give you). The story seems interesting thus far, even if I'm not entirely sure what's going on in either Altair's time or the modern era. |

^ It always bothered me too that they never caught on to "Hey! The guy in the white is the one killing everybody!" As for actual stealth in later games, I've played ACB, (not ACR though, so idk if things changed) and its stealth was also pretty much "don't attack people in the open, here are some premade hiding spots for you, and you can hide in a crowd of ~10 people to avoid detection by guards". The only not-AC stealth games I've played are Deus Ex (well, I played it stealthily, anyway), Sly Cooper (don't remember which ones), and the first Hitman game. I got three Hitman games in a collection on Steam for like $5 a while ago and will play the others, but all of the games I mentioned seemed more stealthy than AC in my opinion. I've also heard that the Thief series is one of the best stealth game series, but I've never played it. |

Re playing mass effect 3 to get the additional content endings. Already got my synthesis (green) ending, working on getting my control (blue) ending this time, will save my destroy (red) ending for next time. Additionally, i worked on my mass effect 2 game to get the "no man left behind" trophy where you save everyone on the final mission. It adds quite a bit when you bring over every character from 2 to 3 as opposed to starting the game brand new from the disc. IMO, the additional content is satisfactory in explaining what else happens after the end! |

Beat Deus Ex: Human Revolution on Friday night. Some thoughts? Sure. -The gameplay was quite interesting. There aren't a trillion enemies as there are in many other games and there are myriad ways to take out the opposition. In other words, the combat doesn't grow repetitive unless you're going for the Pacifist trophy or some shit like that. -I liked how the police officers reacted to the way you chose to handle the first real mission of the game. Chose to kill the gangsters off? Some would approve, others would call you a murderer. Unfortunately after this mission, nobody in the world of DXHR seems to care how you choose to resolve a mission. They just care that you get it done. It's rather weird for a series that has always seemed to put emphasis on how you conduct yourself. I understand that you get more experience for simply subduing someone instead of killing them, but that isn't what I'm talking about. -The Social battles were all really easy IMO. These are, for the most part, powerful and intelligent people, all involved in schemes that likely spanned years and were convinced of the righteousness of their causes, and three or four "right" dialog choices break them down? No. That shit does not happen. I guess these were easy trophies for me, but still. -There weren't a lot of side quests, but most of them were fairly lengthy. Some last a few minutes and you'll get a trophy, which is lame, but most take like half an hour or better and you'll get good rewards and all that jazz. -Exploration is rewarded more so than in any series not called "The Elder Scrolls". I go off the beaten path and I often am rewarded with experience, find garages with extra weapons/credits, computers with extra information on the game world/what's going on, etc. -I like how easy it is to see all the endings. Some of you might argue, "but that nullifies teh choices u maed!!!1" Which I guess is true if you expect the game to take the sum of your choices and spit out some numeric value, lock you into an ending, and make you play the entire game three more times to get Deus Ex Machina. No, making certain choices does not and should not lock you into one path (though perhaps it could make an alternative path harder to take - that is a fair enough grievance), and some choices, like that ending choice, are more important than others. In essence, I guess I'm saying "if A, then B" is not necessarily true in games like this, nor should it be. -If there's any real flaw with the story, it's that there are only two characters I give a shit about. One is OBVIOUSLY Adam Jensen, and the other is Faridah Malik. Perhaps this has to do with them being the two characters who are present the most and get the most character development. Idk. Everyone else seems to be little more than a set piece, played on the board when needed and taken out when the story no longer needs them. -All things considered, I really enjoyed the game. I know people are going to say, "lol it doesn't liev up to teh original" because nostalgia, and that's a fair enough judgment, but this is definitely a Deus Ex game. That's all I expected. |

Actually started playing some Minecraft again. Pretty fun game if you have nothing better to do, but y'all already knew that. And then there' Skyrim, Skyrim, Skyrim, Skyrim and Skyrim. Been playing loads on my Nord character. Got two-handed up to lvl ~65 and decided I want to use a one handed weapon. I just felt clumsy with a huge greatsword/battleaxe. If I missed me enemy it would take an eternity to finish the attack and my best bet was pretty much just all out attacking. And I don't like that. So now I'm using an ebony war axe and a shield. Banded iron shield, because everything else looks like shit. The Nord is the trve Dragonborn and he's pretty fucking badass. And I'm doing the main quest line too, haven't done that since my first character. Decided to power lvl smithing to lvl 80 so I could make Ebony armour, because it looks amazing and the drops in Skyrim are retarded as fuck. My gear is: Helm of Yngol, Ebony plate armor, ebony boots and steel nordic gauntlets. It looks awesome. |

Yeah I feel like I have been playing Skyrim forever. I'm up to level 39, my destruction is up to I pretty much always have my mace of Molag bal in the right hand and fireball spell in the left. I have Ebony armor enchanted to increase magicka regen, ebony boots that increase my carrying capacity, and ebony gauntlets that increase one-handed attacks. I wear the mask of Otar, too since it give resistance to magic, fire, frost, and shock. Annnd I'm really sad because my husband died and I can't re-marry =( I ended up wiping out the Dark Brotherhood, I joined the Thieves Guild, I'm the head of the Companions and of the college of Winterhold. Oh and I joined the imperials because I'm a Breton and I did all that stuff. I'm trying to do the quest for Dawnstar (I think that's where it is) with fixing the people's nightmares and stuff, but my game decided to glitch out on me so it looks like I'm screwed for that :\ |

Been playing WoR. I'm currently grinding for an FC on "Setting Fire to Sleeping Giants" after I randomly -4'd it out of nowhere. And to think I failed that song when I played with Ro. =P Very happy with the game, RB3 is on its way. Grinding for FCs on basically every single Tier 7-8 song and Bat Country, but Bat Country's infamous monster fill in the solo is an absolute bitch to get in practice, let alone after an entire song of intensity. |

Ever since the announcement of Rome II: Total War, I've had the urge to go down nostalgia road and embark on an Imperial campaign as the House of Scipii in Rome: Total War. Awesome as usual. |
