I've been playing loads of Planetside 2 this past week.
I'm loving the game more and more every day as I start to understand how everything works and how to approach different situations.
It's such (I tried to spell this "sutchs", "sutch" and "suchs"..yeah I need to go to bed lol) an intense game.

I've currently got two accounts. One is New Conglomerate on Jaeger (GranskjeggNC) and the other is Vanu Sovereignty on Mallory (Granskjegg).

I know Outlaw is going to start playing it. Who else here is interested in trying it out?

Oh, and it's 100% free btw, just download it from PlanetSide2.com!

*edit*

Check if you can run it HERE.

Damn...that sucks. =/
15 fps where btw? At the warp gate or in the thick of battle? There are some tricks you can do with the Useroptions file to improve performance.
If it's 15 fps in the thick of battle, then there's hope.
My laptop drops to ~25 FPS in INTENSE combat. At the warpgate I get around 60-70 FPS and a happy medium in normal amounts of combat. They're still trying to improve performance for the game, so hopefully it'll run smother for me later.

Try some tricks from this video.
Don't make all the tweaks he makes, but do make the render related ones and make sure all the setting are set to low in-game.

My PlanetSide 2 folder is located in C/users/shared/SOny Online Entertainment

I tried Plannetside 2 and it is a great game, I played for 2 hours trying to get enough points for a bolt action sniper and I was only about half way. I can't get into a game that is going to take me 10hrs to unlock and customize one gun. I also don't like how as soon as you start the game, it throws you into the biggest fight on the map without letting you see and change your key bindings, pick a class or even figure out how to do anything. I might play it again when I have some money to spare so I can get some upgrades. Maybe by then they might add a tutorial.

At the moment I am playing a lot of Killing Floor and BF3

Have you even looked at the official site? Lots of good tutorials there. And if you play as the NC you start off with a bolt action sniiper.
You can also change your keybindings from the start screen.

Yeah, 15FPS is pretty much the highest I get when moving normally. During combat, there were situations when I'd just run into one guy and that wasn't bad, but I don't think it'd work out too well for me in a larger battle. I've tried turning all the settings down all the way. I'll try that video later, got stuff I have to do now though.

Ah, that's pretty bad then. The render distance is set to -1 or ~9999999 by default, which is pretty much infinite. If set it down to 1000 (the farthest distance you can see enemies/vehicles IIRC) you should get significantly better performance. Also reducing the render distance quality (how good things look at a distance) by ~25% should give you an additional boost.

I don't know why they'd have the distance at almost infinite by default... Sure, helps you see, and I'd use it if I could, but if you're that far away, I don't think you can do much from that distance. Oh well. But yeah, I'll have to try that, sounds like it might help. Gotta redownload it, though. :P

I know, right? It's a little overkill, and there's no way to change it from the in-game settings either, you have to edit the file.

Finished Final Fantasy XIII last week. After that, I started Arkham Asylum and finished that today. Next, I'll probably be splitting time between Borderlands 2 and God of War. Or just one at a time. Don't know yet. Also need to finish The Walking Dead game.

Been playing Arkham City: Armored Edition. It's fun for the most part, but some parts can be tedious, as in waiting for like 20 mins just to take out some thugs with guns. I really like the story though, and seeing as I'm not that big of a comic buff, it's cool to learn more about the universe and some of the more obscure characters.

NBA 2k13. It's pretty damn hard in career mode. Haven't tried the standard mode yet.

I picked Darksiders back up. I played it about 1.5 years ago I think. I had forgotten where I was, how to do things and I was just generally confused, haha.
Other games got in the way back then, and it had just fallen off my list of interests. I got an urge to pick it back up, and it's really fun.
I'll definitely be playing it a lot. I'm going to try and complete the game too, I might even pick up the sequel as well, although I'll most definitely get it for the PC (smoother framerate etc., plus I can use the controller there as well).

For Christmas I got a PS2 copy of Silent Hill 3 and Borderlands 2. I also used a gift card to order a copy of Resident Evil 4. So I've been switching off between those.

Sorry Ro, I'm not going to be playing Persona 4 yet. Everything was fine until the penis monster. I'm thinking Skyward Sword perhaps?
