Sorry Ro, I'm not going to be playing Persona 4 yet. Everything was fine until the penis monster. I'm thinking Skyward Sword perhaps?

Mara? I've never seen that in the post-battle mini-game. I'm pretty sure it's one you'd have to fuse, and it's one that I've actually never even been able to fuse in 200+ hours of play. (I'm sure I could if I tried, but meh.)

If it's a parental issue, it's a Persona you won't come across easily, that's for sure.

Anyway, came to post that Skyrim runs like a dream on this rig. Downloaded the HD textures obviously. My computer automatically set the graphics quality to "Ultra High", which I guess maxed out pretty much every option. Still runs wonderfully with no lag. Now to FRAPS it up and see how many FPS I'm getting.

EDIT: FRAPS doesn't play nice with me. Whatever, I get a framerate that is playable without the damn program running. Might have to turn Skyrim down to High if I heavily mod in the graphics department, but that's not a big deal.

Skyrim runs like a dream for me on ultra (well, some random things have been turned down, things that I wouldn't notice either way).

Are you using the official Bethesda high-res texture mod or are you using the better, Skyrim HD 2k Textures?

I'm also using some lighting mods to make nights and dungeons a little more intense like this one: Realistic Lighting.
I'm using the "Vision Lighting" mode, it's like a happy medium and it works very well.

*edit*

Forgot to write what I was supposed to post here :P

I picked up Darksiders II earlier this week after finally finishing the original (only took me about 18 months :P). I'm having a lot of fun with the game. It's just epic and simple fun.

I was using the official textures, but dayum, those look better than the official ones.

I already uninstalled. I just want my games on my HDD, not my SSD, even if they're ones I'll probably play a lot. (like Skyrim obv)

They look loads better indeed. And if I can run them on my laptop, you better be able to run those on your beastop.
Yeah, no point in bogging down Windows with lots of games.

Finished God of War. Pretty good. Will play God of War II next, after catching up on a couple not-game things.

Let's see, been playing a few different things.

Bastion: Definitely better played with a gamepad. It was worth waiting until I had one in my hands to finish the damn game. >.> It's a good game, with great art and music, but gameplay-wise I wouldn't say it's anything special. It's competent in that department, but a bit overhyped. The story is bog standard too; it's just narrated in an interesting fashion. Beats endless cutscenes, that's for sure.

Civilization V: I don't know if it's because I don't have Gods and Kings yet (or possibly because Firaxis doesn't know how to utilize fucking quad-core CPUs), but when I get to about the Renaissance/Industrial Eras, the game starts slowing waaaaaaay down. The computer takes well over a minute, if not more, to take its turns. I haven't sat there religiously timing the damn game, but it shouldn't take me 45 minutes to get through five turns, even if I have a huge empire with plenty of cities and units. It just shouldn't, not on this machine. I suppose I could play with smaller maps or something.

And so I found myself playing Civilization IV again. That game, on the other hand, runs smooth as fuck. I'm currently in like 1800 AD of a standard game and turns are still taking seconds, and there's no lag. Quite a step up from my laptop.

Not entirely sure I want to start something a few days before I get Fire Emblem: Awakening because I'll just drop it immediately for that, so I'll probably just stick with Civilization IV.

Got mah 3DS last week. Naturally I've been playing that.

Fire Emblem: Awakening: I started on hard mode because normal was billed as being for first time Fire Emblem players. It seems as if the game practically requires you to use either Frederick or Kellam to get anywhere because everyone else will get 3HKO'd at best. I tend to avoid using Knights because their mobility is a liability, so I'm stuck with Frederick. I'm also trying to avoid relying on the DLC/Spotpass maps to level my characters to absurd levels, so take this as you will.

But yeah, it's a fun game so far, even if my progress is slow because I insist on no deaths. >.>

Also tried out a couple demos.

Etrian Odyssey IV: Seems very Strange Journey-esque. Has the same dungeon crawler feel and the same absurd difficulty. That said, these are the things I liked most about Strange Journey. I just wish the story in the demo included a boss so you could see how difficult the boss fights might be. As it is, the toughest fights in the demo are enemies you're probably not supposed to be fighting at the start of the game. The regular enemy difficulty seems to be a step up from many RPGs, too.

I'll probably get this at some point, I just don't know when. Too many other great games coming out that I want to get.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Ow my hand. Perhaps it's just my delicate girly hands (or not playing the game enough to get used to it yet), but I can't play more than a song or two on the harder modes without my hand feeling pain. Other than that, it seems like a pretty fun game, but again, too many other games to get.

Forgot to post in this thread, but I got Pokemon White 2 in the mail a few days ago, so I've been playing some of that.
Fun game so far. Beat the two first gyms and just arrived at the mainland.
I'll be playing it quite a bit during my winter break as there'll be plenty of travelling. *sigh*

Outside of that I'm still playing PlanetSide 2 pretty much daily, and I've almost forgotten about Darksiders II. I need to fix this.

I found Super Street Fighter 4 3DS at Radioshack the other day, for only $17. Naturally I had to buy it.

That's why I switched to normal. I can now rely on almost all of my units (except for Donnel, holy shit, it's impossible to level him up). The problem is the units that have around 18HP and then facing enemies that do a minimum of 20 damage.

Donnel is probably going to turn out to be one broke little fuck. I don't think I've seen him level less than three stats, and I typically see him level at least five. But yeah, babysitting him and setting him up to get kills can be a pain in the ass. He's also finally getting to a level where he isn't a total drag on the team, though I think I'd throw a Seraph Robe in his direction if I got one because HP is still low.

I still recommend forging him a relatively cheap spear. +2 damage, +5 hit, +3 crit will cost under 1000 gold and give him a useful Bronze Spear, so he can actually *do* something.

But yeah, I find myself using Frederick to lure enemies out so the rest of my units can kill them. He'll generally take 2/3rds of their life (assuming he doesn't double and kill them), then everyone else can simply mop up. Think I'm going to try the next chapter without him, in part because it's a FUCKING DESERT MAP, but also because I think my team is finally getting strong enough to fight without him as a crutch.

EDIT: Also, this.

Call them back to you. Or perhaps take control of Reyn and use his arts to keep the enemy focused on you, since I figure you'd be intelligent enough to stay on solid land.

But yes, that fight is fucking annoying.

Call them back to you.

Wait, how do you do that? I mean, I did it after leveling a bit and controlling Reyn, but it will still be helpful to know.
