>infinity Mostly because of Aptitude. Once he's usable, he's completely broken. He'll be a level 3 whatever-you-class-change-him-to and can take on level 5 advanced classes due to his ridiculous dodge rate and affinity for double hits, which gives you a landslide of experience. But the actual numbers are (with the +20% from aptitude): HP-105% Str-75% Mag-35% Skl-65% Spd-70% Lck-100% Def-65% Res-40% |

Playing a little (free) indie game called Papers, Please. You play a border control guard for a fictional communist state, and you have to decide who gets in the country. It is truly glorious. http://dukope.com/ |

Apparently he has some of the lowest caps in the game. But whatever, that only really applies in some of the season 2 DLC. Fact is, he's still broke if you put time into raising him. I recommend having him marry Sully and passing Aptitude down to Kjelle, who becomes even *more* broke. Some people will say "lol pass Counter down instead", but what's more useful: the skill that allows you to cap stats more easily or the skill with minimal use? He also passes down Dark Flier/Galeforce, making him a good father to anyone who wouldn't get that otherwise. |

I'm planning to do stuff like that for Lunatic, but for now I'm just using whoever looks cute or is funny and then marrying them off like that. My army is hilariously imbalanced because I adore Mages and Pegasus Knights and it's fun =3 |

I hate Pegasus Knights. I try to avoid classes that are vulnerable to anything in general (e.g., knights/generals). |

I love their ability to double pretty much everyone, their insane mobility and they all tend to have cool personalities too. No death run on this game with no Frederick is surprisingly difficult. You have to calculate everything on your turn to perfection. Nothing is worse than the feeling you get when you realise you've fucked up and Lissa or someone is JUST in range to get hit by a two ranged weapon you didn't take into account. |

^Pretty much this, plus Galeforce. 8 move/flying in this series is pretty good, so there has to be some drawback. I suppose you could argue mounted units are better because their only real weakness is Beast Killer, which you won't be seeing all that often even in the late game. Flying weaknesses don't bother me all that much. Bow users can't counter at 1 range in this game, and you can always send another physical unit to pwn wind mages if your fliers can't one-shot them. On that note, archers need to be *usable* in the next game. Even a weapon/skill that would let them counter from 1 range would make them at least usable. It also doesn't hurt if they're like Shinon and/or Rolf in RD. Anyway, playing FF7. Shit just got real. Nearing that one scene, I'm sure you all know the one. |

To be fair, Shinon is one of the most ridiculously overpowered characters in the series. OH, that scene? The one where Cloud dies? Posted Image First time this has happened, not gonna be the last! EDIT: The music in Chapter 10 is so good wow EDIT2: >mfw Donnel and Nowi can both get +2 in stats EDIT3: Lissa became my first unit to become second tier, turned her into a Sage :3 |

Okay, this reinforcement bullshit is actually beginning to really frustrate me. An hour on this chapter, spending twenty minutes on one turn to make sure everyone survives perfectly and then reinforcements spawn at a square with NO INDICATION THEY WOULD DO THAT and then one shot Olivia. How in the hell am I to prepare for that? I shouldn't be expected to expend two or three units at the back doing nothing just in case reinforcements spawn. |

I'm pretty sure reinforcements can only come in two ways. One way is in the "fortress" squares or whatever they're called. The other way is when they spawn on the very edge of a map. It's annoying having to keep your guard up so much around every fortress square, but you have to if you don't want one of your weaker units dying. Personally I just started pairing the weaker units up after a while. I don't think the game really gives much incentive for mage/archer/healer/whatever units compared to "sweeper" units, at least on Hard difficulty. |

Ro says standing on fortress squares mean they can't spawn units. I didn't read that. I AM SO GOOD AT THIS GAME. |

haveyoueverherpedsohardyouderped.png As far as mages go, their problem is the game puts more emphasis on Enemy Phase than Player Phase, and mages just cannot survive Enemy Phase. That is, unless they're Sorcerors loaded with Nosferatu/Aversa's Night. It helps if they can access Armsthrift to preserve forged weapons and Sol for 100% healing, but by the time they can do that you probably beat the game and are now preparing for the hardest DLC maps. Healers are perfectly usable and vital in the early going, but I found it easier to just load up the troops with Concoctions/Elixirs and go kill things. I have a couple staff users at A rank though, so I guess they can sit in back and spam Physic/Fortify now. And lolarchers. Same problem as mages, even less chance to counter. |

I would just class change mages as soon as you get them to level 15. I personally like Dark Knights more, because they have good health and defense. I rarely worry about Ricken dying, as where Tharja (who is a sorcerer) I have to be more careful with. If you don't want to lose a character on a hard chapter, I suggest getting ghosts to act as expendables. I practically sacrificed Leonardo. |
