I'd *probably* go Symphonia = Xillia > DOTNW > Legendia As far as music goes: Legendia > don't care I'll pick up Xillia 2 when that drops obv, Graces in April, and Abyss 3D at some point. As for the others, I'd love to get them, but I either don't have the system they came out here on or they weren't localized. :/ |

I'll be getting Xillia 2 as well. That's too bad because Vesperia is absolutely brilliant. :/ |

Picked up Kid Icarus: Uprising yesterday and have been playing a good bit of that. It does seem really replayable - which is a good sign for me, although these early missions got kinda easy because I jumped in online and it gave me some pretty high-end items (high-end compared to what I've been finding in the levels thus far). Nonetheless I'm loving the game so far and it'll definitely be occupying a large chunk of the weekend. |

So I've played a bit of Tomb Raider but I've been having some problems with the audio. During the intense scenes, the audio gets all broken or something. Also, the redemption code for the DLC that came with it isn't working. If anyone knows how I can fix this, that'd be great. |

I just finished Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Might review it, I dunno. It was better than the first in pretty much every way. |

So after playing through three days (in-game) of Lightning Returns, some more thoughts. The game probably isn't as hard as it was made out to be pre-release, but the system takes a little while to pick up. I'd only say I got comfortable with it playing through day 3. The boss at the end of the Yusnaan quest (if you played the demo, you know who it is) was a lot easier than the boss at the end of the Luxerion quest, though idk if this is simply because I got better at the game, because I got a fair number of options day 3 that I never had day 2, or because day 3's boss is easier. Who knows? You only have three schemata that you can use in battle and four buttons. This makes picking abilities a little bit difficult. Generally, I go with a spell of each element unless it's a boss, in which case I obv go with its weakness, Mediguard on every schemata, Attack on things that can actually attack, and the rest is support stuff like Poison/Deshell. I don't know if I'll get Cure or something but that would be a must-have if I did. There are so many abilities and outfits you can obtain that you'll find your own way to play through the game. As far as story goes, I don't know what to think so far. Sometimes I think it's actually decent, and then something happens that makes me cringe or something that retcons the series' own lore. I don't expect much because XIII-2 turned things into a mess and I don't see an easy way to wrap it all up, but maybe it's a Mass Effect 3 sort of thing, in which the ending ruins shit for almost everyone. The game looks really pretty, but the framerate will quite often fall into what I'd estimate is the 20-25 FPS range, which is still *playable* (albeit barely), but still noticeable. And yes, I installed. This probably won't ruin your enjoyment of the game, unless it gets worse in later areas. On the outfits, I haven't come across anything overly revealing or anything... Yet. I probably will use such outfits if they have a good ability/stats because I want to beat the game first and foremost, but in future runs I'll probably avoid outfits I don't like. You get one during the main storyline that looks really amazing, though, and it helps it has an ability that will come in really handy for that quest's boss. In short, it's pretty fun to play so far. The jury's still out on the story, though. Edited by Romanticide, Feb 13 2014, 05:25 AM.

I've been playing the Titanfall "open" Beta for a few hours now, and I figured I might as well post some of my first impressions and thoughts about the game. There's been a LOT of critique of this game, calling it "CoD with mechs", and while that's certainly one way to look at it, it doesn't do it justice. Now, I have never played CoD online, so I don't really know what that is like, however I've seen gameplay from it, and it's quite different. There are three things about CoD and Titanfall that are similar, if not identical. 1. It's fast paced 2. The gunplay is almost identical 3. They both have low player counts And now the differences: 1. AI that act like creep, minions or whatever they're called in MOBAs (they are in the game both to make it feel more alive, and to allow you to get your titan quicker, similar to acquiring gold in LoL by killing minions) 2. Fucking big epic, and fast mechs. These mechs aren't like the ones in Mech Warrior Online, they are agile. The Titans are very powerful, if you know what you're doing, if not...well you'll probably die really fast, lol. 3. JETPACKS, OMG! Wallrunning, jetpacks (or jumpkits as they are called). They remind me of the jump boots in Metroid: Prime, however the pilots are much more agile. 4. There are no killstreak bonuses, like in CoD. You can't call in some gunship or whatever to rain death on your enemies. Those are the main differences that I can think of right now, and to me this seems like a very different game, however it will feel familiar to those that are used to playing CoD. The game feels fresh, and fun. It does go at a million miles per hour, but it's exhilarating! Rodeoing Titans, jumping across rooftops, and jumpkicking dudes mid-air is all really awesome. There is one aspect of the game that annoys me, and that's a stupid gun called the "smart-pistol". What this does, is it basically locks on to your pilot, and kills him. It doesn't require a lot of skill, and it is quite powerful, assuming you manage to get enough locks off (you need three locks, and this takes about 2-3 seconds), you kill the enemy. It feels a little cheap to get killed by it, and I hope they nerf it by increasing the lock on time, or simply increasing the time to kill by one bullet. Impressively enough, this is the only real complaint I have about the game, so kudos to Respawn! When you’re in a titan, or running around on the ground, you get lots of information through your coms, stuff like «you are outnumbered 2:1» etc, or stuff like, «we have two out of three bases, but I want three!». It makes everything feel more alive, and the silly AI that’s running around, calling out stuff like «there’s a pilot up there», rolling over, tripping, and my favourite: when they run away from titans in fear. These small things all come together to make the game feel alive, and I love it. In the beta there are three different game modes, a TDM type mode, conquest type one, and one that reminds me of CS. The first two are pretty obvious, however the third one is a little more interesting. Every player starts the round in their titan, and the goal is to destroy all the other titans. Your team can lose 5 out of 6 titans and still have 5 pilots running around on the map, rodeoing other titans, and wreaking havoc. It’s definitely one of the more tactical game modes, and I can see this being somewhat popular on the e-sports scene. When you kill all enemy titans (or all the pilots, if they have dismounted their titan) you get 1 point, and it’s the first to 4 points i.e. each round can be a maximum of 7 rounds. As for the maps, the two we get to play in the beta both feel very fun and they flow very well. There are plenty of places where the pilots can hide and assault titans, and at the same time there is plenty of cover for the titans. One of the maps was a little large, and had more open spaces, the other is a city map, so it was a bit more close quarters oriented, both in titan vs titan battles, and pilot vs pilot battles. tl:dr the game is fun, fast paced, titans are awesome, it’s balanced, and the game is just overall a very nice experience, one that left me smiling after every round. |

^ I still need to watch a gameplay video or something of Titanfall. I wasn't really interested but you seem to like it quite a bit so I'll watch something eventually. I've been playing Mirror's Edge. HowLongToBeat.com has the game at about 6.5 hours and I've put in about 3 so far. I love running around 'n stuff, but the combat is pretty annoying. I hope the second one has less or improves it, but doesn't add more. Anyway, this game feels really fast. I dunno, I don't really feel that in games a lot (but my last few have consisted of Metal Gear and other games that don't involve running really fast) so it's cool. I would love to try it with an Oculus Rift and then get scared and take it off after my first fall. |

It's over. It's finally over. Lightning Returns is fun as hell to play, BUT that's not what this post is going to be about. At all. I'll elaborate further on gameplay and that other stuffs in a review that I'll post later. Rather, this is going to be the longass post of why nothing in this series beyond the end of XIII makes any fucking sense. I can follow it, but that does not mean it makes sense. These are two different concepts. Because I'm not a (complete) asshole.

Here's a pretty good video that gives you some varied gameplay and some general thoughts on the game. And I still need to play Mirror's Edge :P *edit* Is the link stuff borked or am I absolutely shitting the bed right now? Admin Edit: The URL was missing "http://" in order for it to work.
