Hatsune Miku: Project Diva 2nd F is stupid fun. I was expecting just to play through a few songs to see what it was like and eventually get back to P4G. NOPE LOL. Unlocked all the songs, messed around with various features (those decoration/friendship features... those will take forever), and didn't touch P4G. Looking forward to P4D even more now, since it seems quite similar to this. But yeah when I finally finish that, I'll probably pour even more time into not sucking ass at this. also Megurine Luka best Vocaloid |

I finished Metal Gear Solid 3. These games are hella good. Some of the dialogue is cringe-y and the female characters are always sex objects, but gameplay-wise, they're really good. Starting up 4 now, maaaybe I'll finish it and Peace Walker (and Rising?) before Phantom Pain comes out but probably not. EDIT: Pretty disappointed in MGS4's framerate so far. Pretty sure it's less than 30 most of the time. Edited by Snowman, Aug 7 2015, 06:50 PM.

I don't think I've ever had MGS4 run like poo. Not sure if it ever hit 60, but it was never unplayable (aside from the TWO HOUR CUTSCENES) EDIT: I'd argue the dialog in MGS3 is supposed to be cringe-inducing. The game as a whole is a send up of James Bond and all the tropes therein. Edited by Outlaw454, Aug 8 2015, 03:04 AM.

There actually were a few moments that reminded me of James Bond, but I've only seen two of them (Dr. No and Skyfall) so I'm not too familiar with them. Also, MGS4 is playable for me, but it's not very smooth at all. Not sure why. I did watch a YouTube video of MGS4 gameplay just for comparison and that looked much smoother. Oh well. MGSV will be smoother for me. |

Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX demo is pretty cool. There are definitely things I like about it over Project Diva, namely that the notes all appear on a line, making it easier to see them. Notes flying in from everywhere on the screen looks awesome, but it makes the game a bit harder to play than it has to be. I'd appreciate a Focus Mode, but barring that, putting notes on a line or a track or whatever else is probably the best way to go about things. I didn't pay attention to this before, so I didn't know it was releasing on the 8th. Not sure if I'll find the money for this until next year, if only because I'll have two very similar games to quench my thirst for rhythm games. IA/VT -Colorful- is also on my want list. Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle is more fun than I thought it'd be. lol mobile, etc, but I had to try it once I saw it on Android. Once you get past it being a mobile title, it's a fun RPG/puzzle game hybrid that can honestly be called F2P. All spending money will do for you is make it easier to recruit characters (and refill stamina, but lol I'm not that impatient), which is tempting because I would do many illegal things for a Super Rare Android 18. I also enjoy the artstyle and the sound. While neither blows me away, it looks and sounds like Dragon Ball (Z) and that's all I want out of any Dragon Ball product. Can say many of the same things for Final Fantasy: Record Keeper. My only real complaints are that the game feels slow in the mid-game/later if you're not willing to use Mythril to refill stamina, and that it lags a bit for no discernible reason. At this point, levels cost 40-50 stamina and I only have 70, so I'm not playing it very much outside of events/a handful of levels a day. There's no good reason for the lag given this game's undemanding sprite style, either. |

Persona 3 Portable -- Played like 30 hours of this so far. HowLongToBeat.com has it at about 60 hours, but it feels like I'm more than halfway done. It's September in the game and it ends in January, I believe. I think I have three or four more Full Moon Operations, and considering how quickly the first ones went by, it just doesn't feel like I'm only halfway through. Oh well. Anyway, I like it a lot, definitely more hyped for P5 now, and I'll play P4 sometime. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots -- Not very far into this. Maybe a couple hours, disregarding cutscenes (in which case I'm 10 hours in). The framerate is either better now or I've adjusted to it, idk. Anyway, the controls feel kinda weird to me -- R1 for CQC instead of circle is really weird. Holding a button to "ready" it without being able to just use it (especially the stun knife) is annoying. However, the first-person shooting feels a lot better than it did it previous games. But except for those quirks with the controls (which I might be able to change, I'll check next time), the gameplay is better than the last one, which has been true for all the games so far. Not sure about the story yet, but considering the amount of cutscenes, I expect it to be detailed. That could be good or bad. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD -- This'll be super brief because I don't even know all the main characters yet and have only played about an hour. After discovering that the game was running terribly because something set it to run on integrated graphics, I fixed that and it's been running excellently ever since. There are a lot more graphics options than in the last two Final Fantasy PC ports (XIII and XIII-2), but only two resolution options (720p and 1080p) which might be unfortunate to some people. But aside from the weird graphics card thing, it runs excellently, looks great for an HD remaster of a PSP game, and the gameplay is fun. The models of unimportant characters are very noticeably worse than the main characters. It can be distracting in cutscenes, but the gameplay is fast-paced enough that you wouldn't notice it in battle. The tone is definitely a lot darker than past FF games, but it's not dark in comparison to, say, Nolan Batman. Also, I didn't know why it was renamed Type-0, but apparently "Final Fantasy Type" was/is an idea for a new FF subseries for more experimental games. I'm definitely looking forward to a Type-1, Type-2, etc. if that's the case. It'd be nice to see radically different styles of gameplay/settings that you wouldn't really get in a main FF game, without having to create a whole trilogy so the third one (Lightning Returns) can change up the gameplay. Anyway tl;dr much better port than the past two games, I have high hopes for Lightning Returns, FFXV, and the VII remake on PC. |

I got Grand Theft Auto V in the mail yesterday, and wow...what a game. The first person mode makes this game so much more enjoyable than any other GTA I've played before. I've voiced my dislikes for GTA IV, and that I found Saint's Row 3 super boring and I was a little worried that I'd kind of be left unimpressed by GTA V as well, but nope. The voice acting, the animations and the world is so freaking good. I'm about 8 hours in, and I just want to keep playing. :P The driving is also really fun, perhaps what I enjoyed most with GTA IV, and what made SR3 feel a bit poopy. Being in first persion mode and cruising down the highway on a motorcycle is pretty damn fun. Excited to play the crap out of this game for the next few weeks. After that, I'll be getting into The Witcher 3, which I'm also super stoked about. |

MGS4 is my favorite of the series gameplay-wise. Story-wise, it had the dubious honor have having to make sense of MGS2's ending, which might as well be grounds for a doctorate of some kind at this point. That's largely how I got myself through the whole game. |

I personally thought MGS4's story was fantastic, as it managed to answer pretty much every lingering question (not all, as is the normal for Kojima), and being emotionally powerful too. It did a fantastic job of continuing (and closing) the story when you consider just how mind-numbingly confusing MGS2 was. The gameplay was good too, though the level design wasn't nearly as good as MGS previous (except for the last chapter, that had great design) |

I still contend that MGS3 was the best of the series, though I might be changing my tune in a week. |
