Also, I don't think this is too much of a spoiler, but this movie had some of the most brutal deaths I've ever seen, made all safe for kids via CG and whatnot. |

I was really surprised at how brutal a lot of the deaths were. People getting torn in half, heads flying off. Was really weird. But yeah there was like no blood. |

I felt that way too. When they were happening, I thought "Jesus, those are grisly." Yet they pulled them off without spilling a single drop of blood. |

I just saw Days of Future Past also. Wasn't sure if my fiance and I were going to see it, but after hearing lots of good things and it being Sir Ian McKellan's birthday Saturday, we decided to see it. Spoiler: click to toggle

So I saw two movies and both were great. Yesterday I saw Fault In Our Stars. I haven't read the book sadly, but if anything it probably made the movie more enjoyable for me. The movie is unbelievably sad and I have literally never came even close to crying as much as I did to that movie. Unlike a book though, you have to have actors that make you care about them and the two leads are extremely convincing that they really care about and love each other. The male lead, his name is Augustus, typically is a smart ass for a lot of the movie, but when he shows other emotions, no matter what those emotions (there's lots of emotions in this movie), it really is wonderful. The second was 21 Jump Street today. That movie was beyond hilarious, especially the semi-breaking the fourth wall jokes and pretty much any moment with Ice Cube in it. Two scenes of that movie I just could not contain my laughter nor anyone else in the theater. |

I saw Her recently, and I haven't really seen a movie in a long time that made me think as much as this one did. It delves really deep into the state of human emotions while remaining poignant and interesting and it never feels like it's preaching. The cinematography in general is beautiful and Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal of the lead is fantastic. He really is a great actor. I wholeheartedly recommend this movie. |

^ I've been wanting to see Her. I guess I have time for that this summer. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 -- Meh. I didn't really care for it. I read a lot that the movie suffered from "too many villains", but there were really only two villains, plus ~society~ if you want to go that route. I think that perspective was only there to set up Spider-Man an Electro as opposites, though, with one being well-known and the other originally being unknown. I just thought having Spider-Man's biggest fan and his best friend both decide to hate him pretty much overnight felt extremely rushed. It's been a few weeks since I saw it, but if I remember correctly, Electro's origin story didn't start until about halfway through the movie, which I'm sure is part of why it felt so rushed. Harry Osborn seemed pretty pissed off even before Peter didn't want to give up his blood, so I guess his shift from Peter's BFF to supervillain didn't need as much time to occur. I would've liked if they only focused on one villain (probably Harry, because Oscorp seems to be the leader in villain manufacturing), but it wouldn't have been impossible to do a good job including two. And of course, I was upset about you-know-who's death, and I heard this character's replacement is a helluva lot worse, so I'm not looking forward to that. Fargo -- Pretty cool, funny, and crazy. Some friends wanted me to watch it, and the TV show came out recently, and LAD said I should watch it too, and it's on Netflix streaming, so I did. Starts simple, ends with a bloody mess. Good times. |

@snowman At that characters replacement. If it's who I think you mean, then no I would not consider that person terrible Spoiler: click to toggle Edited by CALJR_8760, Jun 17 2014, 04:09 AM.
