I crashed on the sofa and watched Beetlejuice earlier this evening after getting in from work. Needless to say, since it's one of my all time favourite films, I thoroughly enjoyed it! |

I just got back from the movies. I saw Captain America. Not the best movie I've ever seen but it was still pretty good. |

I watched Star Wars Episode I tonight, downloading all six movies. I also watched Fanboys a while ago, it's about four Star Wars fanboys and stuff, it's awesome. imdb because I'm lazy. And like three nights ago I watched probably the worst movie ever, Merlin. The movie just dragged on and on, and it was amazingly boring and it lasted almost three fucking hours. Definitely the worst movie I've ever seen. I hate that movie. It is shit. |

I just got 7.1 so I can watch it before seeing 7.2. I didn't want to see 7.1 in the theater and deal with a cliffhanger for months on end. |

Of course I read the books. I just mean I'd have gotten excited by seeing the first one and didn't want to have to wait a long time to see the second. This way I can see them both within a few days. |

The Thing-I was kinda surprised when I saw this was by John Carpenter, the same guy who directed They Live, because that was really cheesy and this was actually well done. It's a lot like Mafia plotwise, with the whole, "Someone here is trying to kill us all," thing, however I've yet to play a Mafia game where people's heads fall off, sprout spider legs, and run away. It's pretty grotesque, but the atmosphere is definitely there. The Third Man-Film noir again. This movie was supposed to be good. It really wasn't. It was super predictable and not that interesting, along with an annoying female lead. Dog Day Afternoon-This movie is trippan balls. Without giving away any spoilers, I wasn't crazy about the ending, but the way there, with the exception of the really long backstory with his gay lover that was just amazingly dull, was rather good. The Exorcist-It's a movie first and a horror movie second. Pretty much the whole thing until the last 20 minutes or so is just a spooky drama. In all honesty though, that makes it better, since trying too hard to always be scary can never be a good thing. I didn't like the things the demon said that were supposed to be groundbreaking and scary to hear from a child. "Your mother sucks cocks in hell," just doesn't seem like it belongs in a non-B horror movie. Oldboy-I would've appreciated this movie so much more if the version I watched would've had subtitles instead of being atrociously dubbed. Nonetheless, it's one of the most zomgwtf thrillers I've seen and the ending is a complete twist unless you're Snowman. The Evil Dead-I knew the series was supposed to be really campy and pretty funny because it's so ridiculous. They didn't go that route with the first one. I kept watching it expecting it to become funny. It didn't really. The acting could be a bit rough, it was pretty short, and there were odious moments where you wish the characters would stop being dumbasses, but I guess I can see why it's a cult classic. Casino-ohai, lightning. This movie suffers the same fault as all other long movies and has a setup that takes far too long and is mostly inconsequential. After it finally decides to have a plot though, it's actually fairly heavy. It just made me sad to see that DeNiro used to do stuff like this, and is currently starring in Little Fockers. Withnail and I-Maybe it's because I'm not British, but I didn't get it. I laughed like 4 times and the majority of the movie I was just waiting impatiently for them to leave the cabin. This Is Spinal Tap-There you go, Failure. I feel like I didn't catch all the jokes in this either, but I caught enough for it to actually be funny. My main problem with it isn't anything to do with the movie, but I've heard a lot of the jokes recited beforehand, so they weren't funny when you rehear them from the original source, which sucks, because the people who tell them usually butcher it. A Clockwork Orange-Fuck you, comedy streak, it's raep tiem. To be honest, this movie had a ton of nudity, but as far as sexual content goes, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was worse. Onward from the controversy though, I've never seen a movie with such a glaringly obvious moral, mostly because the plot and moral are pretty much the same in this movie, which makes it interesting, since it's fairly hard to figure out who the bad guy is. Criticizing a movie for being too violent and sexual, or just too mature overall is a stupid reason to not like something. That doesn't mean it's bad, it means it's too much for you and your opinion is too influenced to be taken seriously.[/critic lambasting] |

Went to a see Cap at about 5PM yesterday. All in all, it really is my favorite Marvel movie. I haven't been as satisfied with any marvel movie as much besides Iron Man 1. It has plenty of fantastic action scenes, but like all other Marvel movies besides Thor, it does take a while for the main superhero to get his powers (a good 45-55 minutes i think before Steve Rodgers goes through his transformation into Cap) Also, I has some thoughts for those of you who have seen the movie. PLEASE keep your replies to this with that nifty spoiler tag so we don't ruin the movie for anyone else.
Did you notice toward the end of the movie, Bucky Barnes grabs Cap's shield and immediately blasted off the train? Did you notice where he landed? He landed in an icy river. I bet you anything Cap will think "Damn, I survived the ice! Maybe Bucky did too!" and he is going to go back to where Bucky fell and he's gonna find him and Bucky will become an Avenger with Cap. Seriously. Also, I believe I have figured out the main plotline for The Avengers. You see, the movies go in this order: Captain America - 1940s era Captain America - present day Iron Man 1 Iron Man 2 The Incredible Hulk Thor Cap becomes the first Avenger, and then Fury sets out to get Tony stark. After that, Stark contemplates the offer during Iron Man 2, in which at the ending while the news report about the Hulk is going on, Tony accepts to become a "recruiter" for the Avengers. He then meets with the general from Incredible Hulk to ask about the Hulk joining the Avengers. As this happens, the SHIELD agent heads to new Mexico and gets Thor, in which Thor defeats Loki and joins with the Avengers. Loki, surviving the fight with Thor, sets out to capture the Asgard cube that Granddaddy Stark had at the end of Captain America, which he found in the ocean. The Avengers will fight Loki to keep the cube away from him, is my bet.
...but anyway, thats just my opinion. Not set in stone, but it is possible. and if you think about it, it pretty much makes sense. |
