I don't totally agree with this list, but it's more plausible than my dream list.

In any case, my list would probably go something like:

1) Super Mario World
2) Yoshi's Island
3) Super Mario Kart
4) Donkey Kong Country 2
5) Donkey Kong Country 3
6) Super Metroid
7) A Link to the Past
8) Secret of Mana
9) Lufia
10) Lufia II (duh)
11) Final Fantasy IV
12) Final Fantasy VI
13) Kirby Super Star
14) Tetris Attack
15) Chrono Trigger
16) SimCity
17) Illusion of Gaia
18) Super Bomberman
19) Mortal Kombat
20) Earthbound
21) Super Mario RPG (INSANELY overrated, as is Geno, but I still like it and I have a Geno shirt, take it for what you will.)
22) Zombies Ate My Neighbors
23) Star Fox (I don't like it much but it should be included.)
24) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles In Time
25) Earthworm Jim
26) F-Zero
27) Harvest Moon
28) Super Castlevania IV
29) Mega Man X/2/3 (I have no dog in the fight, but Mega Man should probably be represented)
30) Breath of Fire 2

Tbh I haven't played all of these (mostly the games at the very end), but there are just some games that should be included/games I'd like to try.

Dream inclusion is, as always, Seiken Densetsu 3 in English. Second dream inclusion would be Terranigma, it's already in fucking English. If this were to make the list, I'd also have to add Soul Blazer to finish the (very loose) trilogy lol. Other dream inclusions would be the never-localized Fire Emblems and a Star Ocean translation that isn't unspeakably awful ("Arche fucks like a tiger" or whatever that line is will never not be infamous). NBA Jam would be great and certainly make the list if I thought getting the requisite licenses were possible. I'd be more than okay with Super Mario All-Stars but I don't think Nintendo would double down on the NES Marios.

14/21 isn't bad at all for a dream list and not actual guesses lol. I expected 30, but that was because NES Classic set that as precedent. I'd expect N64 Classic, if that becomes a thing, to have around 15-20. I doubt it does because N64 doesn't elicit the same sense of nostalgia as S/NES despite having some of the GOAT 3D games, but who knows?

Anyway, the real reason I post:
https://www.destructoid.com/speedrunning-marathon-summer-games-done-quick-starts-sunday-446053.phtml

Never expected the tickets to sell out, especially in, like, March. I guess this is officially a Big Deal. If they come back to Minneapolis again (don't see why they won't if they like the place, which they seem to - it's a great place! There's more than enough downtown to meet their needs.), I'll have to ensure I have $60 set aside for my ticket.

Obv watching Nier: Automata. I might be hungover, but there's no way on this earth that I miss that run. Unless I die or get alcohol poisoning, in which case I was too awesome for this run. I wish they were doing more than ending A, but it's also kinda hard to justify playing route B because hacking would lull everyone to sleep. Routes C-E are more interesting, but you also have to sit through the same boss fight three times (at least it's short), and ending E is huge spoilers.

Beyond that, runs I look forward to:
Diddy Kong Racing
Super Monkey Ball Deluxe
Jet Set Radio
Hollow Knight (if I can be assed to wake up at 8 am-ish)
Pokemon Puzzle League
Pokemon HG/SS
Twilight Princess
Oblivion
Ys Origin
Chrono Trigger
Mario Kart 64
Mario Kart Wii
Tetris: The Grandmaster block (always super hype)
Zelda block
Mario series race
Super Metroid (why Friday? It's the penultimate run and I don't like change damnit)
FF7
Super Panga World
SM64
Majora's Mask
Earthbound

This SGDQ is very stacked after Wednesday night. Before then, it feels kinda boring honestly? But after that it feels as hype as past GDQs.
