^ That and this v http://ds.ign.com/articles/121/1219553p1.html I shelled out $100 for a DSi plus the $40 cost of the game JUST to play Pokemon White, and financially speaking, I'm fucking poor. Releasing a main Pokemon game on the 3DS would have skyrocketed the sales exponentially. Hell, my brother and I have been discussing this since the 3DS was released. It only makes sense. |

Personally I won't get any handheld system until I can snap it up for <$100, which happens quicker if you get it used. Handheld systems just aren't that important to me because for the most part, the experience of a handheld game can't stand up to the experience I'd have on a console/PC. Where Nintendo would stand to make their money with me is with the software. I'd definitely get the three SMT games that are supposed to come, any main series Pokemon title, and Mario Kart 7 - at the least. Beyond the Labyrinth looks interesting, the new KH game is a must-get if they announce Sho from TWEWY, and I'm sure there are other games I might like. I agree with the article's premise, but it's also hard to give up on the best-selling system in Nintendo's history. Perhaps they could have released two versions, one for each console? Idk. But if they don't move the sixth generation to 3DS, they're certifiably retarded. |

I thought they would release it on 3DS. The fact they're releasing two of the sequels implies there's a big difference, so why not put it on 3DS while they're at it? =/ |

A double dose of news? Sure, why not. http://mynintendonews.com/2012/03/01/wii-u...0-yen-in-japan/ http://kotaku.com/5889673/assassins-creed-...tting/gallery/1 That's in line with the price range I thought the Wii U would fall in. I thought it would be $3-400, myself. Nintendo normally tries to sell their consoles at a profit, so I hope they aren't sacrificing power for the sake of their profit margins. Power is something they need to win the hardcore gamer back. The AC3 news sounds really awesome and all, especially if the assassin is an American Indian (today's PC term of choice lol), but... It's still Ubisoft. If this had the name of a company I could support without my conscience dogging me, I'd get this day one. |

SimCity 5 (or whatever it's gonna be called) has been officially announced. I know, not shocking news. What is shocking is that specs seem to already be on the internet. I suppose I'm posting them mostly for my own convenience, so I know what I need in my next desktop rig. Not particularly worried about the RAM; I intend to get 8 gigs and the requisite 64-bit OS. I also intend on getting a dual-core processor at the least, so that isn't a huge worry either. I don't know shit about graphics cards though. :/ Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better or Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 2.0GHz or better Operating System: Windows XP/Vista/7 RAM: Windows XP: 1.5GB Windows Vista and Windows 7: 2GB PCs using a built-in graphical chipset are recommended to have 2GB RAM Graphics Card: ATI X1800 or better* nVidia 7800 or better* Intel 4100 Integrated Graphics or better* DVD-ROM: 8x or better |

So people have been review bombing Mass Effect 3 on Metacritic. Don't they have anything better to do? Or does this fucking video game really offend them that much? |

A bit of both. But mostly the first. I'd also suggest "hatred for EA" as a reason. Though idk how the existence of a game you don't like can be that offensive either. Personally I'd rather play the ones I like than sit around and give CoD constant zeroes or something stupid. |

http://mynintendonews.com/2012/03/14/ea-co...tions-to-games/ There are precious few companies I'd trust to do subscriptions for the right reasons, those being to add new content on a regular basis and perhaps maintain the servers of an online-based game. EA is most certainly not one of them, considering all their anti-consumer practices. I understand that maintaining servers costs money and requires labor, but given the general state of the industry, I don't trust most companies to use the money solely for this and to make some profit for their work. Rather, I see it as a way for them to make copious amounts of what is essentially "free money". Most companies likely already take the costs of maintaining servers and such into account during production, knowing that a huge part of replayability for certain games comes from the online aspect. Personally I'm opposed to subscriptions. I remember a time in which we bought the full game and we owned it. Adding to the full game with good DLC is cool, charging me for permission to play the whole game I should own (but apparently don't) is not. |

This is probably one of the most idiotic ideas in gaming, having to pay for an online pass for used games is fine, but having to pay a monthly subscription to be able to play any online game is ridiculous! Imagine 360 users, who already have to pay quite a bit of money just to be able to play online, then adding a monthly fee for playing say Battlefield 3 online. That's horrible. If this happens...*sigh* Guess I wont be playing a lot of games with online features. |

So you really don't think paying that small fee once is better than having to pay a monthly fee? I don't like the idea of having to pay that pass, but it sure beats subscriptions. |

They're both shitty tactics to make money, but just because one is worse than the other does not make the lesser of two evils acceptable. The "It could be worse." argument is a terrible argument for justifying anything, especially something as bad as online passes. Companies like EA, Warner Bros., and even Sony are still scums of the earth for using them, and after buying Twisted Metal (god damn you, Sony, for putting an online pass in one of my favorite game series), I plan to never buy any games from them ever again (unless I buy them used). This is what we should be doing: boycotting their games instead of putting up with it and saying, "Hey, at least we don't have to pay subscription fees!" |

http://www.gamespot.com/news/elder-scrolls...-in-may-6366626 As the link says, an Elder Scrolls MMO is rumoured to be revealed in May. Hmm, this could be interesting, but I'm not sure how I feel about this. I'll definitely be following this. |
