This date makes some sense, at any rate. I suppose this date would pretty much confirm that the Wii U version of Assassin's Creed 3 would be coming out around that timeframe as opposed to on October 30th, too.

Nintendo had another one of their Nintendo Direct conferences last night (click for recap). Not much of interest, but two new games were announced. The first being Professor Layton and the Legacy of the Super Civilization A, which is said to be Professor Layton's last game. The other announced game is Rhythm Hunter: HarmoKnight, a rhythm platformer being made by Pokemon developer Game Freak.

HarmoKnight seems pretty interesting. Kinda reminds me of Bit.Trip Runner. I'd probably get it if it ever came here, but lol at the idea of Nintendo localizing a new IP.

EDIT: More details on HarmoKnight, plus a trailer.

I guess a new "main" Metal Gear Solid game is coming out soon? Iunno. People interested in the franchise will probably find this interesting, anyways.

Not quite the sequel I was thinking would come out (I wanted playable Vanille again goddamnit), but it's a sequel, I guess. The whole game sounds very Majora's Mask-esque, at least at this time, which is fucking awesome because Majora's Mask is probably my favorite Zelda.

I suppose this is what's teased by the ending of the Lightning DLC, the ending you get after five-starring it for the second time.

Can't wait, day one buy, etc.

Perhaps Ubisoft has finally seen the light. I don't ask a whole lot: If you have fair business practices and release good games, I'll be more inclined to buy your games. Ubisoft has released some stuff that has interested me, but I've never gotten it new because of their business practices.

So here is my question to you then, will this decision make you more inclined to buy a ubisoft game first hand?

Assuming they actually stick to it? Yes.

That said, there are sooooooo many other games out there that I want to play/buy that idk when I'd get an Ubisoft game. Other than Watch Dogs because Watch Dogs looks like the fucking shit.

Agreed, watch dogs does look like the shiznit!!

Anyways, I know this is not really gaming news per se, but here is an article of reviews of working at all the video game companies written by current/former employees that some of you might find interesting!

Enjoy!

Late, but that article almost got the website sued over how false and misleading it was, choosing to only include negative parts that each employee said and so on. It's just shit stirring, trying to get them views.

Some somewhat interesting news were released today, the Wii U will be coming out on November 18th in the US and November 30th in Europe.
There are two version of the Wii U, one basic and one deluxe.
The basic version is $300 and the deluxe is $350.
The basic version has 8 gigs of storage space, and all the stuff you need to use the console, obviously. Oh, and it's white.

The deluxe edition gives a premium deal where you gain points from what I am assuming would be buying DLC. So if you bought enough DLC you could buy DLC for free using those points. There should be more info coming on that later on.

The deluxe edition also comes in a nice black colour, a stand for the system and a charger stand for the controller (don't see why that's deluxe only, but whatever).

The deluxe one also comes bundled with Nintendo Land.
And the best part about the deluxe edition outside of the colour is the 32 gigs of storage space.

Here's an article about the info.

And here's a lame trailer of some games uninteresting games + third party releases.

I'm a little surprised at the fact that there are two different versions of the console, but that's cool I guess. Throw the less fortunate a bone. I am however disappointed in the fact that only the basic is white and only the deluxe is black. A silly decision, but oh, well.
I am pretty satisfied with the prices too, and I wont be getting a Wii U in at least one year. Maybe if I'm lucky and they've released some interesting games I'll get it for Christmas in 2013.
For now I am more than satisfied with my PS3 and Nintendo 64.

So the deluxe version comes with at least one accessory the regular version should have come with anyway (also an accessory they'll likely charge $50 for alone), and an amount of storage that is really fucking nothing in this day and age. Nice to know.

I understand why Nintendo wouldn't include an HDD in the regular version (because casuals), but not including one that's at least 160 gigs in the deluxe edition is kind of silly to me. It's not like that would add a lot to the cost, and hardcore gamers would appreciate having it. If they feel that's *still* not enough, well, they can upgrade out of their own pocket.

I guess Nintendo Premium is cool and might offset the extra $50 over time, but from what I read, that's only available until 2014 or some shit.

Also, just read about a Bayonetta 2 Wii U trailer. Didn't think it'd be an exclusive, but apparently it is, and I find that rather silly, considering the original was a PS3/360 release. I hate it when companies pull this "lol let's release each title from a series on a different platform" shit. Namco Bandai, I'm looking at you fucks and the Tales series.

So yeah, overall there was nothing said that will make me rush out and get this day one. I'll still be waiting until it gets some gaems that I need this console for, which probably won't happen until new Mario/Zelda. (There are a few other gaems I can think of, but they're pipe dreams.)

Just to clarify, the basic Wii U will come with an AC adapter for the gamepad, just not a charging cradle.

Also, according to Reggie Fils-Aime, they didn't bother with more storage options because external HDDs are cheap and constantly declining in price.

Bayonetta 2 was completely unexpected but it's being published by Nintendo and Sega so it make sense as to why it's an exclusive for the platform... for now.

I'm quite excited for the Wii U but it's really too bad I won't have the money or time to buy and play it extensively any time soon (about 6 months). Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (in other videos I've seen it titled MH 3G HD ver. so I have no idea what the accurate title is), and Bayonetta 2 are top priority. The deluxe edition of the Wii U will be the most expensive console I've purchased so far.

Edit: So it turns out Bayonetta 2 is being published solely by Nintendo and Sega is taking an "advisor" role which, I believe, guarantees it's exclusivity.
