Agreed on all three points, but we both know a Pokemon Snap 2 won't ever happen after that Masuda Q&A. |

Give me a Zelda or Metroid game for the Wii U, then I will think of buying it. Also, general question, would anyone else enjoy a full on pokemon experience on the Wii U? |

Full Pokemon like the handhelds? I'd love that. Coliseum and the games after were okay, but much of the fun in the game is wild pokemon, not just going from battle to battle. |

I simply wont buy the Wii U until that happens. And I would LOVE a full on pokemon game for the Wii U. A handheld type game, just on the console. HD world, HD battles and HD pokemans, free roaming and a story. Having some form of MMO gameplay would also be OMFGAMAZING. Being able to traverse throughout all five regions would make everyone cream their pants. If Nintendo does this, I'll buy a Wii U, no questions asked. *edit* And your character model would be fully customisable! |

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 has been announced. The game will continue from the first one and cover the New World saga. It seems the game will also cover story arcs that the first game skipped. Also, NoA had another Nintendo Direct. Fire Emblem: Awakening has been confirmed for a February 4th, 2013 release date, and HarmoKnight has been confirmed for localization. |

http://kotaku.com/5965684/guitar-hero-7-wa...ncelled-in-2011 Guitar Hero 7 was going to be guitar-only, and feature a brand new controller with six strings. No, that doesn't mean a real guitar. It means an additional sixth button and six strum bars. The setlist was going to include a number of songs already featured in the GH series, some of which 3 times before ("Free Bird", "Ace of Spades" probably). Even disregarding that, the setlist was said to be very bad. They scrapped the old characters and art design and started from scratch. There was also going to be a specific venue for every song, however that proved far too ambitious for the developers. The developers themselves said that the game was bad and the development process was a disaster. Honestly, very glad this game never came to be. EDIT: I suppose this should have gone in GH/RB Discussion, but OH WELL~ |

Wow, what a way to go. I don't understand why they had to add five more strum bars. The classic GH guitar was perfect. 1 strum bar and five buttons. A simple and fun design. Having unique venues for every song...why? What's the point in that? Hopefully they'll get back on it in the future. |

Six strum bars: TEH REALIZMS!!11 Well, that's my best guess. IMO they'd just get in the way. Six strum bars would probably not be as easy to play as six strings are. I know guitar is not easy to play; I am just saying it's a lot easier to play six strings than six strum bars that would likely get in your way. At the end of the day any working design would likely be impractical/expensive. One of the reasons people grew tired of this genre was the expense, so I wouldn't consider that a good thing. Unique venues: TEH AMBITIONZZZ!!1 It sounds cool on paper and all that, but I think the novelty would wear off fast and it would also divert resources from the gameplay aspect of the game. You know, the whole reason we play games. I'd rather see improvement in the game engine/more songs/anything else that improves the game than see a bunch of cool venues and shit. I think Wii would not get this game if it had been released. Unique venues or whatever would most likely take up a *lot* of space on a Wii disc, if not more than they can support. Probably not the smartest of ideas to abandon Wii until Wii U gains some traction, which might take a year-plus. But yeah, this game sounded godawful. No vocals is automatically a no-go for me, but outside of my selfish wants it makes no sense to abandon instruments that you've been working to improve since WT. I guess it would be a way to differentiate yourself from the competition, but to what end? People would see Rock Band as the more economical purchase, even after the expense of additional instruments. I think they would be right, too, and economy matters a lot in this day and age for obvious reasons. |

Well, The Walking Dead: The Game won Game of the Year. I'm actually pretty furious about this because TWD isn't much of a GAME. It's an interactive movie, essentially, and shouldn't have won the award. It shouldn't have even been nominated, dammit. Stuff revealed at the Spike VGAs: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 Dark Souls 2 Gears of War: Judgment Metro: Last Night The Phantom Pain Teasers for: Bioshock Infinite The Last of Us Tomb Raider Personal thoughts: None of the revealed games interested me at all. It was nice to see a new IP revealed, but The Phantom Pain showed me nothing other than a CGI video that didn't hold my interest. Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider look just as good as they always have, but for The Last of Us I saw it had zombies as a large part of the plot. My interest in that hit the floor. Apparently that was already a revealed plot point, but all I knew of the game was what was shown at E3. I had my mom watching this with me, and there seems to be a recurring theme here. At E3 2012 there were tits on the screen, and at VGA 2012 there was a giant dick on the stage. These gamer events are full of awkward moments. EDIT: I'd like to point out that the VGAs were awful and Samuel Jackson is a terrible host. I only watched it to make sure Borderlands 2 won in all the categories it should have won, which it did (YAY HANDSOME JACK WON BEST MALE CHARACTER). |

>taking any televised awards show seriously at all People still do this? But yeah. The VGAs are even more of a joke than the other televised awards shows. They're just bad. The VGAs recognize publishers for making the games that are killing gaming. I also don't like shows that insult my intelligence to pander to a perceived demographic. Funny how that means I don't like most television. Things like those "awkward moments" you described are another reason I don't watch such things. It shouldn't be hard to make an AAA gaming-centric award show that adults can watch without feeling ashamed of themselves and their gamer ilk, but for some reason it is. I'd be more surprised at a Souls game getting a reveal on an American show, but it's probably the most western of any Japanese RPG franchise. Then again I don't really care; the series seems to epitomize fake difficulty and technological capabilities from 1992, so whatever. Also, The Last of Us having zombies was never a surprise. I dun recall when that was revealed, but yeah, if that E3 showing was all you knew, I guess it's possible to miss it. Still interested I guess, especially if the story is good. Not that this will take a lot in comparison to most zombie titles. |

I had only seen the E3 gameplay. I'm not surprised that the game has zombie-like enemies, I'm just a little dissapointed. Seems you can't do ANYTHING these days without having zombies in it. However they might do it well and make them scary as shit. I'm hoping so hard that The Last of Us will be mind-blowing. It looks absolutely gorgeous. Glad I have that PS3. :P |

I'm kind of surprised you didn't know about The Last of Us but then again, not really. It was revealed at the VGAs last year. Anyway, this is what Neil Druckmann, the creative director and writer, had to say about the game in an interview from last year with Eurogamer: So if not a horror game, what is it? "This is going to sound corny and it might not appeal to gamers, but I would say it's a love story," he says. "It's not a romantic love story, it's a love story about a father-daughter-like relationship." The zombie-like aspect was one of the first things revealed. This video was the main inspiration for the game. The question made was "What if it could infect people"? I'm looking forward to playing this game. |

I now hope they're wrong and that this is really a horrible game in a diametrically opposite genre. Could live without the breathless hype of an MGS5 and the "LOL TEH SEQUEL 2 DA MOVEE" jokes. |
