@ Darkie, It was confusing, though. Many financial analysts believe that the reason the Wii U is performing below expectations is because average families (Nintendo's market) have difficulty differentiating between the Wii and Wii U. http://www.engadget.com/2013/05/01/wii-dir...marketing-wiiu/ But, I do agree. Xbox One can be confusing. I wish gaming companies would give completely new names to their consoles, like Nintendo did for a brief stretch of time (Nintendo 64, GameCube, Wii). |

That's true. I was thinking in a 'when referring to it' way. It's gonna be annoying to talk about the original Xbox now, because you have to call it "the original Xbox." And agreed with new names, or at least consistency. PlayStation isn't creative with their names, but you can tell when it's new because they always just increment by one. Wii added a single letter and Xbox went 359 numbers backwards. Regarding the actual console, I don't really care. I'm not going to buy one because I won't have the time or money to bother having multiple consoles freshmen year of college, but I also don't understand the hatebase it's already formed. |

For me it's the usual anti-consumer shit that I rail about. If any of it turns out to be true, fuck this console. Also nogaems, but that's a personal preference. http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2013/05/xbox-one-analysis/ |

There's a reason why people were already prepared to dislike this console. Microsoft has been trending in a direction that most gamers have hated for years now. It's not like we all randomly decided to go "Hey, fuck Microsoft, lolxbox". Plenty of people bought 360's early on, were treated to a lot of decent games they couldn't find elsewhere, and then 4 or so years into the Xbox's life the supply of good exclusive games was cut off almost completely. They shifted focus to cheap "timed exclusives" with companies like EA and Ubisoft, the Kinect which they never successfully supported in any way, and other non-gaming features. There's been a general pre-disposition of gamers to dislike this Xbox One even before it's been revealed, but there's a reason for it. Microsoft has made tons of decisions over the past few years to create this situation with gamers. There's absolutely nobody to blame but them. This was a reply to Darkie's post about the hatebase it already has. I originally typed it as a reply to a somewhat similar question, so I just copy/pasted it, so if it's more pointed than called for, that's the reason why. I'm studying and can't be assed to make a new reply. As for the lack of games here, it was expected. Not only because it's Microsoft, but there were pretty legit rumors floating around for the past few weeks that this wasn't going to focus much on software and that their E3 presentation will be filled with software. E3 should have a ton of games, at any rate. Sony and Microsoft will be showing off their killer apps for launch and Nintendo has already confirmed some pretty exciting games showing up (SSB4, Mario 3D platformer, Mario Kart, we'll likely see more of the games announced in January, and hopefully a Retro reveal). Looking forward to E3 a lot. |

hahahahah it also requires a fee to play used games. I know we've said it before with stuff, but I am gonna say it again: This system will be a massive failure. Nobody is going to buy it when there are superior and probably cheaper systems out there. PS4 is gonna KILL. and the Xbox One is gonna sell okay since it'll be around Christmas time, but the stocks will just plummet thereafter |

http://kotaku.com/you-will-be-able-to-trad...icros-509140825 It'll be interesting to see how that used-game marketplace unfolds. I can't imagine the prices being as good as the used marketplace we already know. What would be the difference between buying a code from this online marketplace and buying the digital version of a game? I can't imagine them charging less than retail price for the people buying them if there's no difference. The thing here would most likely only benefit people wanting to sell games, not people looking to buy them used (people selling would get however much money, and Microsoft would get the difference between that and retail price). If you're seriously only buying the code, then I could see the price being cheaper than retail. But then you'd need a physical copy to combine it with...? Would the person selling the code be expected to ship their physical copy to the buyer? Hmm. |

Another thing is that the whole games have to be installed on the consoles. Modern gen games are around 7gb so that 500gn hard drive will be used up in no time. There's so much wrong with this console already |

Mirror's Edge 2 listed by Amazon Germany Let the rumors begin... again... Hopefully it'll be longer than 6 hours, assuming it actually exists. |

I would buy Mirror's Edge 2 so fast. The original is easily one of my favorite games ever. Also, of course the new Sonic game has new characters. As if they didn't already have enough. I'll most likely be getting it anyways. |

So I found a couple of trailers for Bungie's Destiny and I must say I am indeed intrigued. It does give me the sense of excitement and passion that the old Halos gave me, but at the same time it gives me something that feels different. I love bungie ViDocs. |

http://www.gamespot.com/news/microsoft-nex...billion-6408879? MICROSOFT ON ALL THE DRUGS I don't see this gen reaching 300 mil combined unless you count the 3DS. The market is fragmenting, etc. |

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/174855...game-developers Interesting Kickstarter. Idk if I'm going to back it because 12 pounds for a digital book (25 for a physical edition) sounds preposterous in 2013, but I might. It'll be an interesting read at any rate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toa_vH6xGqs Part 2 of Tropes vs. Women. Still very obvious stuff, but she's trying to educate the average gamer who might not have touched even a basic sociology course, so I don't mind. Still worth the watch. |
