No, we can't and I won't agree to it. Not all glitches are cheating, just as not all glitches are not cheating.

And no, I do not use them myself. I don't find it fun to try and pull off some glitch for minimal reward. Oh wow, I got a few seconds off! Oh wow, I can beat the game without going to this point in the game! *rolls eyes* I don't see that as fun, but I'm not going to sit here and pontificate on what gives/should give other people satisfaction, either.

I've always defined a cheat as "something that gives an unfair advantage". I'd add "over other players", but that isn't always the case. To that end, using a glitch to get a faster/impossible kill is cheating. Using some glitch that gives permanent invincibility, obv cheating. Using a console menu? USUALLY cheating unless you get yourself stuck in a wall or some shit.

Using it to skip a segment of a single player game, not so much. Hell, I'd argue that could very well be a disadvantage, depending on how well I know the game in question. Seeing who can compete a game the fastest generally isn't a competition. If it is, like at SDA or somewhere, they've generally defined what glitches are fair and what ones are not, so...

Not all glitches are cheating. Abusing glitches to skip sections of the game or access places the developers didn't want you to is cheating. Speed Demo Archives allows anything but gamebreaking instant-finish glitches. For example, in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, one can skip a lot of the Wing Fortress Zone using a glitch the developers didn't put there. To me, this is cheating. Speedrunners still use it, as it's possible to do.

Also woo Wii U! Hopefully it'll have four controller support...

Wut? A GTA game where you don't play as a guy who has nothing but slowly gains everything?

Also, San Andreas looks so purdy.

Paals video didn't load so I searched it on YT. I see planes, jet-skis, golf-carts, vinewood, Los Santos. Didn't see a huge mountain like in SA. But, needless to say, I am happy and will probably get on/near release day.

Six to seven years for one game, and that's a good thing?

Something you may not know is that GT5 took about 4 years from announcing it was coming to the actual release. So yeah, I made a shitty joke.

Good article, relating to stupidity on metacritic.

And this is why I don't trust anything but detailed reviews.

Unfortunately, as Metacritic currently exists, you're not going to find them there. That or you'll find them after 100 pages of shit. I'll just stick to professional/well-written player reviews.

Also, post count of Satan.

I remember seeing metacritic within the first few days. Some 0s seemed like CoD fans who were honestly disappointed with the game's lack of innovation, but most were just butthurt fanboys. The fact that every review is a 10 or a 0 is retarded. Could the 0s honestly find absolutely NOTHING of enjoyment in the game? I mean, I briefly played MW3, and while it wasn't my cup of tea, I've definitely played worse game and it's probably not even less than a 5 or 6.

"Comment on IGNorant's article"

Really if you have THAT many people bitching about the game you have clearly done something wrong. No, a 0 out of 10 isn't a fair score for any game that isn't a complete bug ridden unplayable mess. But IGN predictably misses the point here, that these are NOT critic scores, these are people making a point.

And it's a point well made, zeroes speak far louder than mere 6's or 7's, and that is what the user score is all about. The system of 0 for bad 10 for good is not, I repeat NOT a bad system for user scores; Can you honestly expect people to carefully and rationally take both the pros and cons of the game into account and devise a perfect numerical representation for its perceived "value", for them personally? No, of course you can't. But you can have a system where people say "Nope, I didn't like it. Zero." or "Yes, I loved it, 10".

Far better read than the article itself.
