Fifty gigs is well over my monthly limit of thirty. I am disgruntled.

The download itself is 21 gigs. The install is 48.

But I doubt you're going to talk parentals into giving up 70% of the bandwidth for the month, so yeah.

Gotta get 'em to upgrade somehow.

Not that I think that's the real reason. At this point there probably aren't many Wii/DS games that people play online anymore, and most of those have and/or are getting newer iterations on the Wii U/3DS. It's probably just simple economics.

But yeah, if you need a reminder that solely online games are glorified rentals...

@gran I wouldn't say it's THE deciding factor, but it's definitely A deciding, which definitely does such, but to be fair that's because I live at home and my mother pays for the cheapest internet available, which will change one I move out. Price and lack of my favorite Sony exclusives is more of a deciding factor and lack of split screen the main one

As for the article, does this include games played on the newer system? If so it seems a bit premature, especially for wii. Like, y would thing they would at least wait until next year after the new smash bros and Mario kart come out. The ds I can understand with hours much the 3ds has sold, but sucks for me cause I was hoping to get a rauquaza or kyogre since I messed up, but looks like I'll just have to play through gen 2 for a fifth time, sigh

I guess it's better than not getting the game at all, but...

>iOS
>$8

A bit overpriced and on the wrong mobile OS anyway. I know, there are more versions of Android than you can shake a stick at, making development/porting harder than on iOS, but at least Gingerbread is no longer the standard.

Hoping for an Android port, I guess. I can't imagine the core SMT audience being dumb enough to be comprised of (mostly) Apple fanboys.

Well, this is a thing.

Considering the particulars of this thing, we'd probably need a topic if there's any interest in sharing games amongst ourselves. I would hate to have the urge to play, say, Skyrim, and kick one of you guys out/make you buy it.

Ah, fantastic! I've been waiting for this ever since I first read about it.
I've got dusins of games I don't play, ranging from indie games to sit like Tomb Raider. I'm away for the weekend so I don't have access to a PC and I can't be fucked to make a thread like that on my tablet. Ro, you need to get on that air so we never have to pay for a game again.

Um, yeah, I have over 170 games, so I wouldn't mind sharing.

We know most of this stuff, of course. The only stuff that might be of interest to us as seasoned game buyers is the stuff about why this isn't collusion.

Still a decent read and worth the 3-5 minutes.

http://consumerist.com/2014/03/18/have-fun-breaking-down-this-years-worst-company-in-america-bracket/

So EA is going for their third straight win.

However, I don't think they get it. They have a murderer's row. Time Warner Cable by itself is stiff competition, given the Comcast/TWC merger news. Win that and they likely get Koch Industries, ran by only the uber-wealthy and uber-conservative Koch brothers. If by some miracle (read: spamming the votes) they win THAT one, I think they get Monsanto, though Wells Fargo or Citibank are possible candidates.

My winner for the whole thing is probably "whoever wins between Koch Industries/Monsanto", which could likely happen in round 3. Both are widely reviled on the internet, and that's pretty much what this competition is about. On that note, those two companies specifically feel like they were added because of internet rage in past years. Neither really directly interacts with consumers, which I thought was kind of the mission of this site.

All of that ignores that EA shouldn't get it. The first year was about making a statement. You're more likely to change EA than BoA or really most of the others. By virtue of being in entertainment, they need some goodwill from their consumers. Idk what last year was about, though the timing of the SimCity launch likely had a lot to do with it. The only thing you can really vote them for this year is the BF4 launch/continued problems, but they've also done two Humble Bundles where they've made nothing and they've taken SimCity offline. I find it VERY hard to justify a vote for them even in round 1.

Gamers will still vote for them, though.
