Mario Maker looks great and I'm just happy they added SMW graphics.

Zelda did look pretty barren, but considering almost everything else looks completely amazing at this point, I feel like the next year will be filling up empty space and bug testing for the most part. They have a full year until the game comes out (I'm expecting a release date similar to Smash, with Star Fox in October and Xenoblade in September), so if the graphics are up to par and the dungeons and sorry are complete then it should be fine. This game has been in development for a long time. I also feel they intentionally avoided certain areas like towns and other cool stuff. I'm sure at E3 we'll either see our first look at a dungeon or a new remodeled Hyrule castle.

I wasn't wearing my hype goggles while watching the Zelda video either, so I was a bit concerned. I just hope it will be filled with plenty of side missions, strange things to explore like caves and weird landmarks (like in skyrim u guys). The game looks pretty nice, although the ground textures looked a bit low res, although this is the Wii U we're talking about. Grass and 3D models all looked gorgeous, though. When I saw the first trailer I wasn't too thrilled about the artstyle, but it's looking pretty good at this point.

One think I don't want to do, is aim with the fucking Gamepad, let me use my Pro Controller, and I'll be happy. There also better be an option to not use the gamepad for Star Fox as well. It looked extremely awkward to aim and look with the gamepad, I absolutely loathe stuff like that.

Dare I say it?

The trailers gave me some Earthbound vibes. The aesthetic isn't really Earthbound-ish, but the general weirdness/quirkiness is DEFINITELY what you'd expect from a Mother title. Mother titles also tend to have good music, and I liked what little we heard here.

Though really, this game had my interest at "inspired by Haruki Murakami". I kind of get that, but I haven't read enough of his work to say if it's totally true. It does remind me a bit of Kafka on the Shore though, in that it's rather surrealistic.

Must suck to have slow internet and a download limit.

Hopefully it'll actually make the run properly.

squeenix changin da gaem

But srsly if there's any trend I enjoy in modern entertainment, it's re-imagining iconic characters. Nothing ever said Cid can't be a female.

I couldn't agree more. Why can't all video game characters be hyper-sexualized teenage girls?

shut up and take my money

Only good in that more JRPGs are coming to PC. This is something I'd buy when it hits like $5 during a major sale, and even then I'd have to think about it because titles like Planetarian, Always Sometimes Monsters, Jazzpunk, etc, all occupy that same price range.

But yeah, once we regularly start getting major JRPGs, I'm probably done with consoles altogether. I also get a Ninty system or two because I'm assured a few good ones will come out on those, but if they come to PC, what's the point? Smash, Mario Kart, and all the rest are *good*, but they're not the main attraction to me.

I'd try it assuming I could get it relatively cheap ($10-15) and it goes F2P. I wouldn't expect to like it beyond whatever story/lore it has, but it's TES and stranger things have happened.

hey guys quintuple posting is a little awk nahimean

Anyway.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/01/20/nintendo-discontinues-club-nintendo-to-make-way-for-a-new-membership-programme?

I hope this gives way to a better program. The rewards were extremely underwhelming for the number of coins you had to put in. I would never get the games because shelling out $150-250 worth of coins for a $5-8 game is stupid. The Smash posters are pretty cool, if only because there isn't much better to *do* with the coins. I might have gotten something Yoshi-related, but I think I missed that stuff.

Ah well. If this gives way to a program with actual benefits, that'd be sweet. Might cost a little money, but if it's good I don't think anyone will have an issue.

Interested to see more about this. I'd obv prefer an expansion for Beyond Earth (game sorely needs one), but I imagine a different team is doing Civ stuff. I just hope this is fun and cheap. At least it might be the latter if it's a small game. *shrug*

I have never even redeemed codes to get coins.
Posters, small trinkets and stuff like that doesn't interest me. I'm indifferent about it being shut down. I'd much rather have a cool official merch store with shirts, posters, stuff like that.

Sid Meier's Starships sounds a bit interesting, though.

Four posts in a row is enough.
