It's not exactly that, plus I shared the cost with my brothers. I like to collect every machine, I just love gaming, so I try to get each console every generation. Each system had selling points, some current, some in the future, so we wanted them all. Not sure why that is a bad thing though.. |

Not saying it's a bad thing, I just am genuinely curious why you'd spend that much cash on so few games (Last of Us, Halo, Sunset Overdrive, Uncharted, Bloodborne are the only ones I see any value in). Multiplats are cool, but you'd only need one of the consoles for that, so that's 400/500 dollars for a machine that can play ~2 decent games (most so far have proven to be quite poor, looking at you...that game with the werewolves and steampunk stuff), but I dunno. But if you split the cost with your brothers that's a completely different story. |

Well, I've got the Xbox for my entertainment system mainly (I have the TV hook up and all that jazz), the PS4 was mostly my older brother that wanted it, not sure why. The Wii U we got because well, it was there, and yeah. It hardly gets played, but it will when/if Zelda finally releases for it. I suppose I like playing some of my favorite games on the newer consoles such as Tomb Raider or The Last of Us. I am not one of those people that dislikes remakes, so long as it is a substantial remake. However, it is fantastic to have Diablo III on my Xbox One, since I don't really like PC gaming. My MacBook can play a lot, but I rather not use its flash memory for games, and I prefer to look at a 47 inch screen rather than a 13 inch screen. I dunno either. The console I regret purchasing at this point is the Wii U simply because it just sits there. Oh, and the fact that I have to unplug everything from the box every single time I want to play it otherwise it won't start up. The PS4 I could have personally done without, but I am thrilled with my Xbox at this point. I am sure the PS4 will come in handy later when more games pop out for it. |

Fair enough, lol. So who gets to keep the consoles when one of you move out? :P |

Well, my oldest brother Ryan is moving out in about two months when he gets married. His wedding gift from me and my older brother, Ethan, will be a PS4 because that is what he and his fiancee really would like to have. As for when I or Ethan move out, we plan on renting an apartment together for quite a while so that is not really a concern either :) |

Oh, that's really nice. And congratulations to your brother! Nice to see someone have such a close relationship to their siblings. I don't think I could live with my sister (but then again she's 34, is married and has two kids). |

[utube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Br3Xm_s1P6Q&feature=youtu.be[/utube] Yup, pretty much this. It's hard not to become cynical about things if you think about them on more than a surface level. This applies to more than just games; it applies to pretty much everything. I'd also like to add "no way does the real Battlefront game look like this". This is obviously a PC version that's been edited to hell and back for this trailer. XB1/PS4 can't come close to these graphics and neither can most PCs. |

The trailer is "in engine", it's not actual gameplay. The game will look absolutely breathtaking, however. The Frostbite engine is capable of great things (Battlefield 4 etc. looks pretty insane). |

I'm willing to believe those are cutscenes rendered in engine, but the very fact that they didn't point out these are cutscenes ("in engine footage" is intentionally ambiguous) is an effort to convince people that actual gameplay will look like this. It quite clearly won't. It's not possible on the vast majority of devices. Sure, it'll look good, but I feel this is the E3 2012 demo of Watch Dogs all over again. |

It says "game engine footage" ~15 seconds in. Of course a lot of people just blindly think that whatever footage they show exactly what the game is going to look like and then get really upset when they finally play the game, something I always found pretty funny. Watch Dogs is a pretty nasty one as the finished product was so far from what that initial gameplay showed and the hype train had basically left the planet, lol. |

Which... is still ambiguous, and that's the point. You could use it to describe either actual gameplay or cutscenes, and EA is using it to describe cutscenes here. It's nice that they look that good, but the actual gameplay won't. It can't; there will be too much going on. Yes, a lot of people blindly believe a lot of things. People are dumb. Gamers are especially dumb and fickle. But in the case of vidya gaems, even the most hardcore players don't understand how the sausage is made (do we really *want* to?) and it leads to a lot of misconceptions. People believe the dumbest shit because both the industry and the media reporting on said industry make little effort to dispel misconceptions. Intentionally ambiguous shit like "game engine footage" does not help. Getting hype over CGI trailers is dumb in the first place. Give me some actual gameplay. I'd prefer a console version if only so graphics expectations might be brought down to earth, but there's no incentive to show something that isn't your best. As it is, this is still EA and while this looks pretty, I'll be on the fence until after release. |

Yes it is, but it should be fairly obvious that what was shown wasn't actual gameplay (one needs to understand the context), but as has already been established, gamers and people are dumb as shit. But that's part of the point, they don't want to write "THIS ISN'T WHAT THE ACTUAL GAME WILL LOOK LIKE", they wabt to build hype and have people pre-order ASAP. I've wisened up and stopped pre-ordering, I can wait a few days before buying a game, ESPECIALLY games like Battlefront that are complex and prone to bugs and an unstable launch. |

With this game in particular, I am going to wait until sufficiently after release to even think about going for it. I have waited too long for another Battlefront game to not be a little cautious. |

Battlefront 2 vs Battlefront EA Not all of the "facts" are 100% true, but any inaccuracies I've seen are minor. This recent information has turned me off completely. Edited by Antunee, Apr 23 2015, 04:22 AM.

Gil and I actually had a good conversation about that chart last night where he showed me an edited version of it with comments from some cool person. Edited chart We haven't even seen any gameplay footage and the game is 6 months away from release. This also is not a copy of Battlefront 1 and 2, BF2 and 3 are ten years apart, things have changed. And more =/= better. I'm personally really happy that it's 20v20 as I personally never enjoyed the crazy 32 vs 32 playercount in Battlefield 3 and 4 (it just got too chaotic, and some maps were just too big). |
