what they SHOULD be doing is moving on with the project without Kojima. Not like its gonna be an awful game without his direction. Its gonna sell balls out and we all know it, even fi Kojima isn't attached. I'd still buy it

Between Hideo Kojima leaving Konami, P.T. leaving PSN, Silent Hills getting cancelled, and now this, I'm starting to think that Konami is in some serious trouble. Buyout imminent?

Good job internet.

Like I said, I'm not against paid mods, but I am against paying for bad mods in a store that is barely even curated.

Also, I'm not sure if re-launching this with a title like Fallout 4 or TES VI will work. Many of the same modders for an older game in those series will move on to the new one, and they bring the culture from the previous game/the modding scene in general with them. Free mods has been a thing since... forever, for fairly obvious reasons. (legality, etc)

EDIT: http://femhype.com/2015/04/27/shut-up-and-take-my-money-a-tale-of-a-poor-gamer/

Also, this. We tend to ascribe fandom with buying the games we love, which we can only do because most of us can afford them. Idk I thought it was interesting.

Wii U with Super Mario 3D World and Nintendo Land for $260. Sell me on this one.

I see myself playing Mario but am ambivalent on Nintendo Land. However they're both pre-installed, not on disc, so I can't sell that. Opinions? Is it going to drop much further than this? There are a few games out that I definitely want to get my hands on, and more on the way.

It's the best deal on a Wii U out there. As far as price drops, I can't see that happening any time soon unless the Gamepad has become cheaper to make. We know the console will become cheaper to manufacture; they all do. But the Gamepad? Idk. I'd *guess* it will, but who knows how long that'll take.

Lightning enjoyed SM3DW as far as I know. I think Marill did too? SM3DW looks like a good game to me and I intend to pick it up at some point, but idk when because Nintendo pricing, etc. Haven't tried Nintendoland, but another game is always nice, and if you have some Wiimotes/some friends or family willing to play, it might be fun.

As far as the games, we all know what's out there by this point, but things that are worth playing right now: Sm4sh, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2 (and the original obv), and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. I'm liking Captain Toad but I don't think I can recommend it at $40. I got it for $15 and that's way more palatable for what it is. Have Pikmin 3 and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, but I haven't played them yet.

Of course, I'm looking forward to Yoshi's Woolly World, X, SMT x FE, and Zelda, but the latter two are looking like 2016 releases.

EDIT: I feel you'll need an external HDD of some sort. 32 GB isn't going to cut it with Nintendo's back library. It depends on what they release and when, but they have a lot of great stuff regardless. You don't necessarily have to get that right away, but depending on what you plan to buy and how, you might need one sooner than later. Whatever, you can get a terabyte for $50 these days, which isn't bad.

New potential plan of action: $225 for a refurb with Mario. Should I be wary of getting a refurb straight from Nintendo, or?

The kickstarter for Yooka-Laylee launched yesterday, their goal is £175k, and it's already over 1,000,000. Pretty impressive.
I backed them as well, went for the $35 option. Gives me a digital deluxe edition with a demo, artbook and some other stuff, nice!

I LOVED Banjo Tooie as a kid, so I am pretty excited about this game :D

Back that shit here:

£35, I assume ya mean. It's about $55 converted.

Anyways, for those of you who don't know, Yooka-Laylee is the first game from indie developer Playtonic Games. They're comprised of ex-members of Rare who worked on the Donkey Kong Country and Banjo-Kazooie games. This game is meant to be a spiritual successor to BK, the Banjo-Threeie that we never got essentially. And I am completely sold there. Those games were two of my favorite N64 titles, and all I ever wanted was a true sequel to them (fuck you, Nuts & Bolts).

From what I understand, they were actually paying for the game out of their own pockets. This Kickstarter was just to get some extra cash to hire more people and afford an office space. Safe to say they have more than enough money now to make the best game they can possibly make.

But yeah, I've backed it as well. Went with the £30/$47 option, because mmm dat soundtrack. David Wise (DKC), Grant Kirkhope (BK), and Steve Burke (Kameo: Elements of Power) will surely make only the best music for the game.

Oh, yeah, I meant £35 :P

So yeah, they had already funded the game with their own money (daaaaamn) with a PC release coming first with consoles coming later (for obvious reasons). Now they'll be able to release the game for everything on day one, which is pretty awesome. I am super stoked for this game, and the music in the short kickstarter video was like something straight out of the Banjo-Kazooie games.

I know hype is bad, but fuck it I am hyped.

I'm sure everyone here is aware that the Batman: Arkham Knight season pass was announced at $40. As absurd as this price point is, what's even more stupid is the people saying they're going to cancel their pre orders because of the season pass. I'm thinking to myself, why not just buy the main game and skip the season pass? No one is making you buy the DLC. I'll *probably* do the season pass just because I want to waste my money all things Batman related, the same way people spend $14 on dumbass Amiibos. It's so dumb, gamers are the worst people in the media community.

I think it's more about the principle of a company announcing a season pass for that price with all that content. It leaves you wondering how much they've removed from the core game to this season pass. I'm not a fan of season passes being announced at advertised before the game is even out. I prefer how Mario Kart 8 and Dark Souls 2 went about it, the DLC was announced several months after the game was released, that's nice, and gives me more confidence that the devs didn't cut down on initial content or development time to make the DLC. They probably had this DLC planned way before release, but we didn't know anything about it until a long time after release, which at least gives the illusion that they're not focusing so much on additional content.

Sure you can skip the season pass, but I believe it's also about making a statement. Voting with your wallet is a pretty effective way of saying "I don't approve of this".

And yeah, the amiibo craze is stupid.
