New season starts this week. Get hyped.

http://anichart.net/spring

I'm watching:
Fairy Tail (2014) - I've been finishing off the first Fairy Tail series lately, and I remember why I liked it. It's not the greatest thing and in many ways it's just a lesser One Piece, but One Piece is really really good so that's not a death sentence. It has good fights, some pretty legit funny moments, and a memorable and likable main cast.

Hanamonogatari - More Monogatari get hyped. This doesn't air until May, when it will probably take over Nisekoi's time slot. It's only five episodes long. This is part of "Mongatari Second Season" but they skipped it at the time because it chronologically takes place after the other arcs and it kind of tells you how the main plot of Second Season ends up if you were to watch it where it would normally take place.

Isshuukan Friends. - I don't know anything about this other than the premise listed on anichart, but that premise seems to have some potential for a pretty decent little show. There are some plot holes already seemingly there just by the premise itself but whatever.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders - I'm expecting more of the same that came with the first season back in 2012, which would be a lot of action, a lot of style, and a lot of manliness.

Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei - I actually read the manga adaptation of this series' first arc a few weeks ago. It's not that great. This is going to be an adaptation of the light novels, though, which I hear are better and the first arc is apparently the worst anyway. Even in the so-so manga adaptation I read, there were some pieces there for a potentially entertaining series. My expectations are somewhat low for this, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Mekaku City Actors - I still don't really know what this is actually about. I think the character designs are pretty meh from what I've seen. This is SHAFT, though, so I'm obligated to at least give it a shot. It's based off of something having to do with some kind of Vocaloid nonsense so I'm expecting good music.

Mushishi Second Season - Mushishi get hyped.

Ping Pong the Animation - I would normally not watch this, but it's got an exceptional director at the helm, it's almost inherently intriguing based off of how out of left field it is, and I have nothing better to do with my life. I'll give it a whirl.

I'm continuing...
Nisekoi - I probably like this a lot more than I should, but it's the best harem anime I've seen by a large margin. The girls are all memorable and awesome, which is rare in this genre where the writers seem to just put out mostly half-assed characters in an attempt to pander to all of the major character tropes out there. I've laughed more watching this than I have watching any show in a good while. Also it's what my avatar's from.

Nobunaga the Fool - This... isn't very good. It's not all that bad, though. I'm just sticking with it. Every once in a while it throws a pretty awesome and badass moment at you.

I'll try to keep up with Mushishi season 2, assuming it's on Crunchyroll. This will be mostly because I'll be paying money for the service soon enough, so might as well try to take advantage of one of its biggest benefits. (even if no ads is worth $7 on its own) Plus it's Mushishi and the first season was amazing. The OVA was pretty coo' and I'm hyped.

Lol'd at the Atelier anime. Nobody plays those for stellar storytelling, so I'd expect nothing there.

Beyond that, it's either shows I'd have to catch up on or shows/studios/whatever I know nothing about. I don't follow who makes what; I just don't care much about that shit outside of books/music. I have so many other things, anime and otherwise, to catch up on/do that I can wait until I hear more about what's good this season before committing to something.

Continuing:

Nisekoi: Basically what Lightning said. Definitely not watching for story, but it does have its moments. I don't seem to like as much as LB though, as I think it can get annoying at times. I like the characters a good deal though, and everything feels pretty fleshed out.

One Piece: Pretty self-explanatory. Also, this arc right now is just getting interesting.

Gonna try to watch:

Mushishi Second Season: Get hyped

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders: I read a bit of the manga back when I was a wee lad, and I don't feel like I appreciated it properly. Gonna test this out to see what it's all about again.

Isshuukan Friends: It's like 50 first dates except anime and without the presence of Adam Sandler, which is a plus. It does seem interesting. It could devolve into another meh high school show if not taken in the right directions though.

Kindaichi Shounen no Jikenbo R: I have never watched a detective style anime before. I love me some "piece-it-together-yourself" type mystery. Even from the picture alone, it looks kinda Phoenix Wright-y, which I can get behind. I'm hopeful.

Mekaku City Actors: Mainly watching because SHAFT. The description doesn't really give me much to go on, though. SHAFT doe.

I'd feel more inclined to see Fairy Tail if I had watched the original show, but I'm doing bite-sized anime right now and at 170 something episodes, I'm not bearing that burden.

I'll also watch Hanamonogatari after I finish Monogatari and all the other -gataris.

Ooooo, new Studio Bones Mecha series. I've always loved Eureka Seven, and I'll be interested in keeping up with Captain Earth if it is any good. Not too terribly interested in most of the other series this season, but lol@me trying to keep up with more than one series at any given time.

Here's a fun little SHAFT video, with some stuff from most of the shows they've created. I love that they have their own distinct style that they've had for so long. There's no other studio like them in the industry. Even the stuff that's different by their own standards like Madoka Magica and Hidamari Sketch still feel very SHAFTy.

It wasn't good enough the first time to watch it again with what will probably have some slightly upgraded animation and new scenes.

Can't say I blame you there; it'll essentially be the same anime outside of a few new scenes and maybe slightly improved animation. Oh, also Marie.

I'll probably still watch both because I'm a masochist like that and because it's P4.

Also, no P5 info. I don't understand why people were expecting it; I thought all along the "super important announcement" would be a new project. I can't see why they'd call anything P5-related "super important" at this point unless we're getting a release date or something.

So Kill La Kill has a dub on the way. Not sure how I feel about the cast overall. Some fit really well, some I'm just not sure about. Credit where credit is due, the main cast has voice actresses I am not all too familiar with, though now that I look, Mako and Satsuki were both in Madoka Magica as Madoka and Mami, respectively. Interested to see y'alls thoughts on this.

Voice cast list right here

Patrick Seitz is Gamagoori? I'm shocked. Completely shocked.

Most of the voices range from meh to completely awful. I think the only ones that I really liked were Satsuki's, Gamagoori's, and Jakuzure's. I almost thought Ryuko was Caitlin Glass, they sound so much alike. The voice isn't very good though, sounds like a typical shonen protag voice. Sanageyama's voice is bad simply because he's no longer Link from Ocarina of Time. I have no idea who the old person voice at @1:34 is (I assume the butler), but it just sounds like a young person doing a bad old person impression. Mikisugi's voice is okay, but all I hear is Leon from Resident Evil 6 and his disguise voice is bad. On a second listen, Mako's isn't that bad actually. But my gawd, Senketsu's voice is fucking terrible.

Binge watching Sword Art Online finally. The show has a bad habit of making me grin like a fucking idiot. Kirito and Asuna's interactions are goddamn adorable.

@Outlaw: Are you watching all of it or just the first half? I recommend the latter, but hey, your choice.

On another note, I finally started watching Neon Genesis Evangelion. I'm only 2 eps in as of right now, but since my summer has started I'll finish it pretty quickly. Shinji is every bit as whiny as I had imagined, but the show hasn't really suffered from that yet since it's the beginning. I enjoyed the fight scenes so far (all 2 of them), and I'm waiting on the stupidly insane stuff now. Also, I don't get how some people can say they don't want to watch this show because it "looks old." I think that the shows older animation style fits it pretty well, actually. It feels somehow more realistic, I think. Anyway, I'll try to finish it as quickly as possible, then maybe give my thoughts on the series as a whole. I know some hail it as "OMG GREATEST EVUR!!!!" but we'll see if I hold the same thought.

I just finished the first half about 10 minutes ago, but what with the new series starting relatively soon, I'll probably bonk out the rest just so I know what I'm getting into as far as character development goes.

As for Eva, I hold as one of my favorite series mostly due to it being the one that got me into anime, and into the gritty and brutal deconstructions that I love/hate so much. I know it is definitely a mixed bag for most people nowadays, due to all the hype from the nearly 20 years it has been around.
