1.0 was okay, pretty dull but I did just watch the entire series through and it changed very little. Enjoyable overall. 2.0 was absolutely glorious. They handed everything about that section of the series perfectly and there were so many unbelievably powerful moments. Masterpiece. 3.0 was terrible. God, I had a fucking essay ranting about how awful it was written out, I could go on about this for hours. It was genuinely like a fanfiction of somebody who understood the characters at a very basic level. Fuck this movie. |

Evangelion 3.0 Spoilers On the bright side, I'm still thinking about End of Evangelion when I go to sleep and when I wake up right now and it gets more and more incredible the more I think about it. |

fucking rant incoming Fuck this movie so hard /fucking rant EDIT: After I made this post, I realized how stupid relevant my signature is. EDIT 2: I want you guys to remember, Evangelion was my first anime. I have around 10-12 (my memory is a bit fuzzy on when I actually watched it) years of emotional connection to this series. Gainax and Evangelion crafted the way I watch anime. My favorite series of all time are either Gainax anime, deconstructions, or reconstructions. This goes all the way back to Eva. FUCK THAT MADE ME SO MAD. Like the whole movie is just characters making NO SENSE relative to how they were developed in two movies before that. |

Finished the first season of Code Geass and it was utterly addictive. It felt like a more fleshed out Death Note that never dropped off in quality besides one or two episodes. From about 20 episodes in - you know which one I mean - I was just enthralled and couldn't stop watching. All that said, why the fuck can no one recognise Zero's voice? Apparently his sister can recognise who people are by the sound of them walking but can't recognise Zero whatsoever? Made no sense. |

Zero has a bit more boom and command to his voice. Lelouch is much socter spoken. Doesn't change that much. EDIT: I need sleep, I have no idea where I was going with that. Edited by Outlaw454, Aug 4 2014, 12:24 PM.

http://io9.com/10-anime-that-will-change-your-life-1615805628?utm_campaign=socialflow_io9_facebook&utm_source=io9_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow Idk whether or not to post this in the ToH or here, but I guess I'm posting here. You guys understand the list more than anyone else here will, but my biggest gripe isn't exactly the list; it's the use of "life changing" to describe entertainment. I can't think of a single work of entertainment that "changed my life". Even the best ones have just influenced my interests at most. I can't understand the people who go on and on about the feels, how something is life-changing, or whatever else. (I have one of those people on my friends list and it makes me gag, doubly so if it's about Doctor Who because he's obsessed.) Also, mainstream/10. I know Serial Experiments Lain/Perfect Blue aren't exactly popular, but there are three Ghibli movies, GitS, Akira, NGE, and FLCL, which are all VERY well-known. If I wanted to be cliche as fuck, this is the list I'd make. Also also, I'll probably start some/all of those anime this week. Tonight is book club night, and I should be finishing the book. I suppose they're all on Crunchyroll or something easily accessible, otherwise they wouldn't have been recommended. |

I knew I forgot to mention something. All of them except for Terror in Resonance and Barakamon are on Crunchyroll. Those two are on Hulu/Funimation, though a week behind. Also yeah that list's pretty meh. Everything there's good except for FLCL (Outlaw mad) but yeah idk it's kind of a predictable list. |

I actively know FLCL is, at best, and acquired taste. I don't want to actively commit to saying it was my second anime, but Adult Swim has been airing it for about 15 years or so, so it wouldn't be too big of a stretch to say that. (This ties into the whole Gainax fucked up who I am as a person and shaped my taste in anime thing) As for the list, the only one that I could argue would be "life changing" would be Grave of the Fireflies for how brutal it is in showing the horrors of war, and its effect on children. That said, I have't actually seen it, if partially because I feel it would hit really close to home for me, having a little sister and all. |
