The Wire is positively fast compared to Treme or even Mad Men, at least IMO. >.>

I probably need to watch Homeland before next season. Been hearing not-so-good things about this season, but it's only two seasons, so it wouldn't be a huge waste of time to watch that series.

To me, between The Wire and Mad Men, it's apples and oranges. The Wire is so much more plot-oriented than Mad Men. So you look for development in the plot of The Wire more than you would in Mad Men (which I think is why it took me so long to get into Six Feet Under my first time through- it was the first show I watched with such little plot).

And yeah, watch Homeland, haha. I think part of the criticism was due to it being less believable than last seasons and the incredibly high standards it set, but even if it was comparatively worse this season, it was still a great show with tons of great moments (and perhaps the best episode of the series- certainly one of the two).

My warning about Dollhouse is that it's the weakest of everything Joss Whedon's ever done for two reasons:

1. Eliza Dushku never completely pulls off the ridiculously complicated main performance she's supposed to give.
2. His main hook is in character development and interactions, and that doesn't really work in Dollhouse, where half the main characters get a new personality in every episode.

I will say that the first episode is much worse than any of the others though, so don't be turned off immediately.

Anyway, as for I have watched:

The first season of American Horror Story-This show is so weird. I was kind of reluctant to watch the hypersexual horror drama by the creators of Glee, but I tried it anyway. I really liked it. I guess it's technically a miniseries, as last year's Emmy's will tell you with the ridiculous number of nominations it got. What I liked about it were three main things:

1. The seemingly completely incoherent plot actually comes come together. It's like Lost if they actually knew where they were going with it. Yet, there are still plenty of twists to set you back a few steps when you've started to think you've figured it out.

2. It has a really distinct style. Not many cable TV shows have two masturbation scenes in the pilot episode. I don't know how I feel about sexualizing horror, but ehh, it fit the plot, so okay. But that's not it. The show's trademark is a lack of subtlety, as the school shooting storyline will attest to.

3. There are a lot of fresh ideas and interesting characters, along with award-winning acting. It ends up working pretty well if you're willing to go on a very TV-MA ride.

Obviously, there are flaws, *cough*Piggy Piggy*cough*, but the way the hundreds of plots manage to weave together in 12 episodes is crazy, even if I wasn't a fan of the last one and a half episodes.

Arrested Development-I'm pretty glad Netflix is reviving it. Let's get this out of the way first: It is overrated. That being said, it's still one of the best comedies in the past I don't even know how long. It's not even necessarily constantly laugh-out-loud funny, but it kind of just has a comedic atmosphere, in that same way that horror movies build suspense. I don't watch very many comedies, because I don't like non-serial formats (AR is serialized), but I'll definitely watch the fourth season when it comes out.

Watched Jake The Dad today, the ending was severely disappointing, and I'm very concerned about what direction Adventure Time is headed in given the preview for Davey...

Oh, right, forgot to mention I finished through season 4 of Breaking Bad. I might end up waiting for a season 5 marathon on AMC, might not, idk yet. Started watching Caprica on Friday night. I meant to start it looong ago right after I finished BSG, but I didn't, so eh. Anyway, three episodes in now, and I do think it's pretty good. Can't really say a whole lot, I guess, since Asfan might end up watching it sometime and I don't want to spoil anything.

Hey, I'm the one who always says people are overrating Breaking Bad and that there are better shows on TV.

Been watching Arrested Development. Watching it kinda slowly because I've been trying to focus on school more than Netflix for some reason, but I really like the show so far (seen the first 8 eps now).

Woo, double post. Any of you watch that House of Cards show on Netflix? I haven't heard anything about it, so I checked IMDb and they seem to have mixed feelings. So I thought I'd check with you people, since you usually like good stuff.

I've started to watch "Game of Thrones". I had some friends who kept telling me how amazing it was (plus Paige seems to love it to death), so I decided to finally download and watch it.

I watched the third episode today, and I'm really starting to enjoy it. The first episode didn't really convince me, but once I got subtitles and got into the second episode things started making sense and it just got better.

My favourite character so far is obviously Arya.
