I'm watching House of Cards. I'm only like six episodes into it though.

It's surprisingly interesting. My main concern was that a political drama would be boring, but it's really not. I heard someone describe it as "Game of Thrones meets The West Wing", which is basically exactly right. I won't review it now, because I haven't finished it, but I'll definitely finish the season.

Assuming you're okay with the lack of censorship (pilot has sex, boobs, and lots of swear words yay), it's worth checking out. I don't really know where you're getting conflicting reviews from, everything I've seen has been positive. I mean, there are IMDb lurkers, but most of them probably haven't seen actually seen it.

The one review I've seen of House of Cards wasn't very positive. It wasn't completely negative. It pretty much just says that it's safe and doesn't do anything to make it exceptional. (It's scattered throughout that article, by the way.)

The same friends that got me to watch Game of Thrones are watching "House of Cards". When they told me what it more or less was about I fell asleep.

Hmm, I'll probably check out HoC eventually, then. So last Friday, I started watching Buffy season 3 right after school. Watched six episodes that night, then another two on Saturday (would've watched more, but some friends came over and we watched other stuff). I think Faith is pretty cool. I really liked Spike when he returned temporarily. I don't know when he comes back as a main character, but I think I'll like it when he does.

I never totally understood the Spike lovefest. I liked him, but he was never my favorite character (Xander ftw).

I guess part of why I like Spike is that he's not just a "muahaha I'ma take over the world" villain. He has a fun personality. I haven't read too many spoilers, but I think I've read that he's not always evil, so I don't know if I'll like him as much when he's "good".

I think my favorite character right now would be Oz. I know he doesn't really have a big important role or anything, but I like him.

Just finished season 3 of Buffy. So now, I think I will...

1.) Finish Arrested Development (34 more eps)
2.) Finish Star Trek: The Original Series (46 more eps)
3.) Some combination of Buffy, Angel, Star Trek: TNG, and Doctor Who.

Should last a while. I know it looks like I'm kinda jumping around with shows a lot, but I have reasons... I picked #1 because I like it, and the new season's in May and probably everyone will be talking about it (I know a surprising amount of people who watch it IRL) and it'll be easy to finish anyway. #2 because I want to watch the original series movies, which I haven't been letting myself do because I haven't finished the series. Oh well. So after that, I know I want to watch Buffy and Angel very much, but I also want to try Doctor Who because it's supposed to be good or something. I'll probably just watch the first season of it, and the first season of TNG, and then ignore them until I finish Buffy/Angel. I know it still sounds jumpy, but I just want to see what DW and TNG are like. Even though I hear TNG doesn't get really good until season 2. Sometime after Buffy/Angel, I'll start Mad Men, I guess.

What are you considering the first season of Doctor Who?

Oh, right, sorry. The "new" one that started in... 2005, I think? I know it's the ninth doctor.

I've been watching Game of Thrones these past few weeks, and I watched episode 9 of season 1 yesterday.
What in the ACTUAL FUCK HAPPENED IN THE END?! Did they actually decapitate Eddard Stark?! This fucking show, man. I am so upset. I was waiting for something- anything to happen. GAWD. Arya will surely save the day...right? I hope at least Syrio survived...
;_;

@Paal

Yes, they actually took Ned Stark's head. I was pretty fucking shocked too. It actually took me a while to get over it, because I felt that shit came out of nowhere. But when you think about it, it's exactly what Joffrey would have done. As you might have figured out, he's a little shit who doesn't listen to rational advice and only cares about his lust for blood. It's a pretty cruel piece of writing, but it sets the tone for the series, and basically also drives home the point that anything goes. As you'll find out, it's probably one of the most pivotal events in all of the resulting things that come in the series, along with Bran's fall, and Catelyn Stark's seizing of Tyrion Lannister, as you've seen previously. Honestly, for me, it might have actually been the most exciting moment in the entire series. It basically sent the realm into chaos when the conflicts between the houses of Westeros could have been easily ended with his life being spared. It's pretty ballsy to kill off your lead, but now with his death this story can now lead in so many possible directions and outcomes, which probably would never have been possible without his life being taken. It's definitely one of the saddest, cruelest, most pivotal, and most important events that I've ever read/watched in a series. And one more thing about Ned's death:

>Sean Bean
>Dying in a movie

In retrospect, I'm sure we all should have seen this coming. I pretty much realized that after I saw Ned's death.

As for Arya, keep watching. As you can see, Yoren takes her and she is basically safe from harm in that episode. That's all I'll say.

I don't think this will ruin things for you, Paal, so I'll just say it. Syrio's status is unknown, as far as the TV shows are concerned, and from what you saw. I can't say at all if he comes back or is considered dead in books 3-5, though, because I haven't read them yet.

I just watched season 2 again, and now I'm going to watch season 1 and then 2. I just bought both of them on blu ray and I need something to fill the void until the 31st.

Finally got around to seeing what all the fuss was about and started watching Breaking Bad. Think I'm about halfway through Season 2. I'm enjoying it thus far. There were a few episodes that had me unable to sit still because they were so intense. It's depressing as fuck though.

@Kramer

Yeah I watched episode 10 yesterday...it was quite shocking.
Joffrey is a shithead, and easily my least favourite character. I'm excited to see what happens next.
