So I finished up season 3 of Angel tonight (I was gone all week and thus couldn't watch anything). Really at this point all I can react to is Spoiler: click to toggle Also, I saw this one video and in the first 5 seconds someone spoiled the very last episode of Angel and I was just like FUCK YOU YOU LOUSY DOUCHENUGGET.

Oh nooooo @ spoiled last episode. I'm sure getting there will still be good, though. So anyways, 'tis the season to finish seasons, I guess, 'cause I keep finishing them. Orphan Black (Season 1) -- I don't think anyone here watches it, so there's no reason to get into specific stuff in a spoiler post. Anyway, this show is about a bunch of clones. One of the clones, Sarah, saw another clone, Beth, kill herself. Sarah then stole her stuff and her life, not knowing they were clones. She eventually meets other clones, and obviously the people around them get drawn in too, one way or another. I think it is a very good show. Some characters start pretty flat, but they get better. But really, I can't think of one complaint. One actress, Tatiana Maslany, plays all of the clones. She is amazing. The clones have such different personalities and she just does a great job. They also have several different accents, which she also pulls off pretty well. You never see one clone's personality leak into another's. In some scenes, one of the clones will impersonate another, and even then you can still see that it's someone impersonating someone. Anyway, the plot is great too. I keep thinking I know where the show is going, but then something better and unexpected happens. The characters (both clones and not-clones) are all pretty great. They're lovable (especially Felix) and can be both funny and serious. The show is filled with strong female characters, mainly because the clones are females. I really think this could be one of the best new shows on TV right now (well, season ended, but you know what I mean). It's not as good as GoT or BrBa, but I'd say it's better than the other current shows I watch (TWD, Arrow, Bates Motel, Defiance). Each episode is consistently great. I would highly recommend it to you people. Arrested Development (Season 4) -- Hmm. I suppose this one could take a spoiler post.
Okay well when I first started watching it, I expected a story to start and end this season. It took me several episodes to figure out that that wouldn't happen, so I guess I started watching it differently or something, and it got better. Y'know, if they continue it, which I'm pretty sure they're supposed to do. Anyway, the episodes were split up by character, so I guess I'll do that too. Michael -- What happened? I talked to Oli about this already, but Michael just seems so stupid this season. He was supposed to be the one sane guy who knew everything that was going on, but he can't even figure out that his son doesn't want him around. And I really didn't like that he wants to make a movie now. That doesn't seem like him either. I know, all of the characters have changed because it's been several years, but him making a movie doesn't feel right. Oh well. George, Sr./Oscar -- I love them. Some people on some websites complained that George changed, but I still thought he was funny, so that's okay. I think all that time in the desert just had an effect on both of them. George-Michael -- I like him too. I'm glad they kept the awkwardness, because that's what Micheal Cera exists for, AFAIK. It's interesting that he's starting to lie regularly, though. His life is gonna SUCK in season 5 or the movie or whatever. Preferably season 5. Also, someone at my school carved a face into wood and said he's calling it FakeBlock. I don't know if he's seen this or not. I didn't ask. Lindsay -- I guess it fits her personality to be the one person who didn't change. I still like her (I do like all of the main cast, though), but I don't like that they had her run off with a social activist just to lose him. I'm pretty sure she tried to change the world or whatever several times in the first three seasons without success, so why should they just do that again? I loved when she said "Oh god, he blue himself" when Marky emerged covered in blue glitter. Tobias -- I still like him, but he's just not as good in his own episodes. Favorite line was probably when he told GOB "I have a list of men who can fill every opening you have," regarding the sex offenders who could move into Sudden Valley. GOB -- I think he probably had the best quality episodes. His relationship with Tony Wonder and Ann was just so funny in a stupid/silly way. Lucille -- Same old Lucille. She was good. I loved the Chinese gang/triad. Maeby -- Meh. Her story barely connected to any of the others, so I guess that's part of why I didn't like it as much. Buster -- I really liked his episode. Character development was not arrested, and it was funny. I liked that he was looking at a recipe that says "Serves 3-5" and then after Lucille was being taken away she shouted at Buster "I'M SERVING 3 TO 5!". I know other episodes had those visual/unsaid/whatever jokes too, but this one stuck out more to me since they actually acknowledged it later. Maybe I would notice more if/when I rewatch it. All of the guest stars were great, too. I only really liked two of the new ones, though. Rebel and P-Hound. I know P-Hound barely did anything, but I liked him anyway. Also, I don't know if this is just a coincidence, but during GOB's episodes, they often played part of The Sound of Silence. Later in the song, the lyrics "People talking without speaking People hearing without listening" appear. One of the girls in the desert talked without speaking, and people supposedly heard her without listening. Maybe it's just a coincidence, I don't know. ANYWAY I liked season 4 and am looking forward to a season 5 or a movie.
|

P-Hound is exceptional at blinking. My thoughts, which are the opposite of yours:
Michael-I actually like that they lowered Michael. Previously, he had been the untouchable character with a terrible family, and now he's one of them (and George Michael is the only sane one). I don't expect him to stay that like forever though. That would be a bummer, but I get the slouch. Also, the movie producer thing was just for the meta-joke of making an AD movie. Even in the show, he hardly did any producer-type things. It's more of a title than a plotline, so that didn't bug me. Ending the Bluth Company plots seemed kind of drastic though. George/Oscar-He/they has/have always been my least favorite character. His plots were important for the story overall, but I didn't find either of his episodes particularly notable. Lindsay-What the hell happened here? I didn't get her first episode at all. Not didn't understand. It just seemed so random and overreaching. Too much happened and too little was important. The second, with Herbert Love, was much better, but even then, mostly as tie-ins to the other episodes. I feel like she was slightly character assassinated. Tobias-His first episode was when it started to pick up, IMO. He's the whimsically bizarre character, so his part was obviously the most out there (challenged by Buster), which usually works for AD. I loved the thing with DeBrie. His plots seemed to relate least to the others though. GOB-His first episode is usually what people consider the turning point, where it starts getting really good, but I thought it was too Ann-heavy. I forgot about him and Ann, and then most of the episode was about them. It wasn't bad or anything, I just think they could've done more with him. And then they did. His second episode is definitely one of the best. The whole thing with Tony Wonder was amazing. Lucille-I was really surprised that she only had one episode (especially because Tobias had two), but I guess she only needed one. I honestly don't remember what happened in her episode, but I don't remember disliking it. Agreed with Snowy on the Chinese gang. Maeby-As one of my favorite characters, I guess I'm more inclined to like her episode. There's also the fact that her plots are usually more dramatic than others, what with being a teenage movie exec, and then secretly failing high school five times. I disagree with Snowy now. She tied in a lot with George Michael and a little with Lindsay. It wasn't totally isolated plot. It covered a lot of ground, that actually made sense, and leaves her in an interesting position for whatever's next. George Michael-I'm lame, but I think he's my favorite character. His plots moved his character a lot more than any one else's, and he was important in almost every episode. Not to mention, I probably laughed the most at his first episode. The whole thing with Spain and becoming OS was amazing to me for some reason. Buster-Well, here's the weird episode. I guess it did advance his character a pretty decent amount, and introduced what might be a running gag now with his superhand. It just seemed more focused on him than how he fit into the family though. Did he talk to any of the main characters other than Lucille and Michael?
That sounded more pessimistic than I am. I approve of season 4 and hate when people say it's not as good as the first three. It's actually a lot more witty and intricate, it just takes time to unfold. |

Finished season 1 of The Wire. Looking forward to watching the rest of it, but there are some movies and Breaking Bad season 5 that I should watch first because this other stuff has been on my DVD queue forever. I liked D'Angelo, Bubbles, Kima, Bunk, and Freamon. They were the only ones who didn't seem like terrible people. Not really sure what else to write about though 'cause it seems like a lot of things will continue into the next season (except that case). |

I'm about 100 pages into book #1, so at that point nope. I am a little sad that I already know what will happen and already have a picture of the places and characters from the show, but the book is written really well so far, so it doesn't really matter as it's a delight to read it. |

Finished season 5 (well, part 1, I guess) of Breaking Bad. This half seemed less suspenseful, but I can see how the second half will be crazy. Looking forward to it. |

Think I'm going to start this tomorrow, if only so I don't have to try to watch four and a half seasons in two weeks or something crazy. Plus I should actually *use* Netflix, etc. |

Ah. So it must have came as a shock. I personally had that event spoiled, to an extent (I knew about the deaths, just not how it came about). But I loved watching fan reactions. :3 Also, that event is slightly different in the books, due to who marriage circumstances. But there are other things during the event that make up for the fact it is slightly less shocking.
In the books, Robb doesn't marry Talisa, he marries a girl named Jeyne. She does not travel to the Twins with him, so she does not die, unlike Talisa.
It's things like that that make the story so awesome. Books are miles better than the show, but that's not to imply the show is bad. Also, trust me. I heard GRRM wrote the script for Episode 2 next season. If I guess right, I know what is happening in that episode, and it definitely makes the books/show worth watching. :D EDIT: Found a bug. If I create a spoiler, then preview it, then post, it doesnt work. You just have to post it without previewing. <_< Apparently you can't edit either. It changes the closing spoiler tag to <span> code. |

Finished season 3 of Game of Thrones. Yay. Also, good news! We have HBO (I've been watching GoT with HBO on-demand, which is free with HBO) and it turns out that gives me access to HBO Go for free. So I can watch The Wire, Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, AND MORE without waiting for them from Netflix DVD's. That also means that I've added season 1 of Dexter to my Netflix DVD queue, 'cause we don't have Showtime. But uh as for stuff that I'm actually watching now, I'm almost done with Buffy season 6/Angel season 3 and Star Trek season 3. I should watch Sherlock season 2 too. So my next post might include all of those? |

After playing through the last of us, I have given in to the whole zombie craze. I have never seen the walking dead before, but a co-worker lent me the first season on dvd so im gonna start watching it some time in the next few days. Just a quick question first, will it remind me of the story in the last of us at all? Cause the story in it was really well done! |
