I haven't played "The Last of Us" yet, but I can tell you that TWD is fucking great. My girlfriend has been on a Doctor Who craze lately (the new series), so I decided I might as well check it out since I don't have anything else to watch. I just saw the first episode, and it's pretty cool. Strange as hell, but I think I could enjoy it. |

Eh. I'll save Star Trek and Sherlock for another post.
TARA :( :( :( :( :( So yeah, there's that. Easily the saddest part of the season. Dawn's reaction when she saw Willow and Tara back together was pretty much how I felt too, so it was sad to see her go so soon. I knew she died, and I figured it was around this time, but I expected it to happen differently. I thought maybe Willow would get back into magic, and then something would go terribly wrong, killing Tara. So then Willow would know to stop. But I guess it was kinda the other way around. And without the stopping. Anyway, normally I wouldn't like that the power of love stopped Willow, but Buffy is probably the only series that can do that well. I've never loved characters in any show as much as Buffy. While I'm on the topic, though... Yeah, Dawn's an idiot, but I still don't hate her as much as everyone else. My friend was at San Diego Comic-Con last year, and apparently they played Once More, With Feeling and people booed when Dawn came on screen. I really don't think she's that bad... I like everyone else more, but she only annoyed me when she whined about nobody being there for her. She should know by now that her sister is the slayer, and Willow and Tara have (had :() college to keep up with in addition to Scooby stuff. So. Once More, With Feeling! So good. I haven't really stopped listening to the soundtrack since I watched it (except for when I'm watching something). That might be a little bit exaggerated, but it was great. So fun to watch, and the singing-their-secrets thing was great too. BUT... I'm sad that Anya and Xander didn't get married. I did like that Anya didn't use her vengeance power, though (but I don't understand why she couldn't just wish to her friend Halfrek, who said that Anya just couldn't grant her own wishes). Anyway, I just liked that she kinda got to start to partially understand Xander's feelings by talking to people instead of just torturing him and not learning anything. I don't really care about the whole Buffy/Spike thing right now. EXCEPT for that attempted rape. I did not expect that. The Trio? Bleh. Big bads: Vampire, vampires, demon mayor and rogue slayer, human/demon/android hybrid, ex-hellgoddess... Then three nerds...? I know you can't get much bigger and badder than ex-hellgoddess, and I know Willow was the main threat at the end, but that was just two episodes. Anyway, I know this Andrew Wells comes back for a lot of season 7 and even a couple episodes of Angel, so I hope he ends up being a good guy. He doesn't seem like he'd be capable of evil, anyway. I guess this is about it for Buffy. Time for Angel. - Fred <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 I liked Darla's death. It was nice to see that she was capable of love. I think that's all Angel really wanted anyway. Anyway, I'll make this shorter 'cause Angel didn't kill its sweetest character yet and it also didn't have a musical episode. Anyway, Connor's okay. I don't have any strong feelings about him yet. I do love Lorne though so I hope this Georgia thing he mentioned won't last too long (I know he comes back, though). Don't know what's up with Wesley. Yeah, I get that Angel hates him, and Gunn/Fred/Cordy just want to protect him by ignoring him, but I hope he knows what he's doing with Lilah. As for Angel, well, he'll obviously get out somehow and Connor probably won't know the truth for a while so eh. I'm curious about what will happen to Cordy. Stargate had a similar concept called Ascension, which the Stargate Wiki defines as "a process that allows beings to be able to separate from their physical bodies and to live eternally as pure energy in a superior plane with a greater amount of knowledge and power." To me, it looked like that's what happened to Cordelia, but I might just be under that impression because of her also serving a higher purpose by disappearing in a white light. So they have that in common. In Stargate, ascended beings aren't allowed to interact with non-ascended beings (though some do break this rule, with consequences). However, it looks like Cordy will still be a main character in season 4, so I guess she can maybe still somehow interact with people? Skip said she couldn't say goodbyes, but I guess she'll interact with them indirectly or something. I'm interested in her and Wesley more than everyone else right now. Uhh that's about it thanks for reading.
Not sure if I'll go through seasons 7 and 4 as quickly as these, though. I have more stuff going on in July and August, and I'd like to start other shows too. But when I do, I always find that I'm craving these. Oh well. See ya guys within a week (most likely) when I post about Star Trek and Sherlock. |

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I finished Angel last week. Oh man dat ending. It honestly was the best thing they could have ended with. Spoiler: click to toggle Also I've starting trying to catch up with Supernatural. I've now finished season 2, am a few episodes into season 3. It's got such a good arc so far. And I read up on some bits of it a little earlier, and I'm just not sure how I'm going to feel about the Holy War bits of seasons 4 and on. Like, they paid such good attention to the lore of all these myths and stories throughout the show and then it seems like with Abrahamic stories they just through canon out the window. I dunno. Guess I'll see. |
I don't hate Dawn either, but she is kind of annoying. And I think that's the point. She's the annoying sibling character. You're not really supposed to like her, just feel bad for and protective of her. But I think most people just hate her. Ah well. I totally forgot about the attempted rape somehow. That was uncharacteristically dark for even Buffy. Yeah, my main problem with season 6 was that there wasn't really a continuing story. The trio got introduced a weird amount into the season, and then they give way to Dark Willow. Season 6's finale is the only season finale that isn't totally badass.
Also, Angel's amazing gimmick episode is in season 5. It's totally unexpected and awesome.
The finale's ending pissed me off so much when I watched it. When the end was coming, I was like, "There's only like three minutes left, how could they possibly resolve this that fast?" And then it cut. And I seriously stared at my screen for like a solid minute after it was over. Which is sad, because otherwise I loved that episode. Especially Wes's death. Not that I love that he died, but it seemed like that was actually the right move. It made everything seem more real when somebody managed to [partially] fail their task. But killing everyone else at the end seemed like...I dunno. But I guess that ending makes sense. Although, if you want that ending to be ruined, read After the Fall. They find a way to keep everyone sort of alive. Including Wes. Who is definitely dead. More complaining: The episode with Fred's death. It didn't make me sad. Which is terrible, because she was my favorite character. I think they just dragged it out too long. It didn't have the emotional impact of trying to save her when I knew it wasn't going to work. Which is in part because I knew that at some point Amy Acker became Illyria. In an unrelated note, what they did to Cordelia (in season 4) pissed me off also, but "You're Welcome" has such a chilling ending that I can't even complain. LORNE KILLING LINDSAY WAS SO 'OMGWTF'. I'm pretty sure I actually mouthed, "What the fuck," when that happened. It was awesome, but also terrible in a way because you know that's not who Lorne is. Also, they backstabbed Lindsay right after he helped them, but then again, it's Lindsay, who will almost definitely do the same to you. The greyest morality. I just liked the hitman style. Suit and silencer. Stay badass.
Oh, and I'm watching Jericho now. It's really short, so I'm going to watch it all before I pass judgment. Then I'll have a post on Spaced, Fringe, and that. |

Hmm just have some opinions here on the current shows I'm watching. Under the Dome is annoying me. It's only had three episodes so far, but urgh. Sometimes it does interesting stuff, and sometimes (uh, whenever Junior is on-screen) I reeeeeeally don't want to watch it. I want to know more about that sketchy business stuff that "Big Jim" (Evil Dean Norris) and that reverend were doing, and I want to know about those seizures that... Joe, I think, and that one girl keep having. But JUNIOR SUCKS. Seriously. He was probably crazy long before the dome appeared and this just gave him a nice excuse to lock his girlfriend in a fallout shelter. I just hope he dies quickly. I'll keep watching for now though, lots of shows get better after their first seasons... Also, I don't know if I really like this season of The Killing. Maybe it's just because I watched the first two seasons within two weeks, and I have to wait a week between these episodes, but I don't really feel like I need to watch the next episode ASAP this season. I haven't watched episode 7 (the ep from two days ago) yet, but their suspect at the end of ep 6 was the first thing that made me think they were getting somewhere. And that almost confirms that it wasn't him because they probably want it to be a surprise at the end. Oh well. I'll keep watching this. |

I have been watching The Big Bang Theory. It's pretty funny. Although I find it infuriating not being able to watch it instantly on Netflix. I'm so used to binge-watching new shows that I find. |

Heeey remember a couple weeks ago when I said I was going to post about Sherlock and Star Trek in a few days? Sherlock (Season 2) -- Just as good as the first season, but maybe a bit more interesting, 'cause of Moriarty. Umm, I don't have a lot to say about it since it's pretty short. I'm sure anyone else who watched it is also looking for some answers in the next season (series, whatever). Other than that, I like the characters and each of the three episodes were good. Idk what it is, but something about Sherlock always makes the episodes nice to look at for me. It feels elegant for some reason. Anyway yeah looking forward to... *checks IMDb* October 31. Star Trek (Season 3/End) -- Well, done with TOS now. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend watching the whole series. Not to you people, anyway. Many episodes are pretty bad, and I don't think the number or quality of good episodes can outweigh that. Still, if you've ever thought about watching Star Trek, you should check out some of the better episodes. My favorite is The City on the Edge of Forever from season 1. I didn't think anything in season 3 was that great, and I already posted some from season 2 so uh you can go find that if you're really interested. Uhh as for other stuff, The Killing season 3 ends tomorrow night and I'll probably try to watch it when it's on, but if not, I guess I'll post about it Monday. Under the Dome still has another month. I'm a little past halfway in Buffy season 7, and I do agree that it's not as good as other seasons, but I'm still enjoying it. Meanwhile, Angel is still very good and I'm approaching the middle of season 4. I guess that covers everything I'm watching now, but uh now that I'm done with Star Trek and approaching the end of Buffy, I'll probably start to focus on The Wire some more and probably start a new sci-fi show (TNG, The X-Files, or Fringe). And after I finish Angel season 5, I'll start Mad Men. I think. But first, homework! |

I've decided to marathon all of Breaking Bad by next Sunday, cause I never actually made it past season 3 last time I watched it. I'm currently 4 episodes in. I CAN DO THIS. |
