My last post was less than 24 hours ago, BUT:
I didn't like this season as much as the first two right away, but I think I was just adjusting to not being able to watch it all in a week. After that, it was pretty good, and now I think it was better than the first two (though if the first case was just the first season, it might have been better). Anyway, my only problem with this season was the whole Lyric and Twitch thing. Why were they there...? I feel like they were only there so Bullet would have a friend to talk to and we'd hear about her feelings or something. But most of the time, Lyric and Twitch were alone. Also, when James/Jimmy what's-his-last-name was talking about killing the girls, his reasoning just seemed stupid to me. Obviously there's no way he could justify what he did, but really? He killed the first girl because he slapped her and she was going to tell? Seems a bit extreme, but yeah he probably wasn't thinking straight anyway because of his marital issues so I'll pretend that's what made him think it was a good idea.

Other than that, I liked it. Kinda annoyed at "THE KILLER IS A COP" thing because I watched an episode of Psych earlier -- I tried a bunch of episodes in the first season earlier and couldn't get into it, but a couple friends of mine really like it so I thought I'd try another and I still don't like it that much but ANYWAY -- and the killer in that episode was also a cop. That just made this feel less original (even though I'm sure there are plenty of other murder mysteries with killer cops too).

I think I liked more characters this season too. There weren't a lot to like, but I loved the relationship between Linden and Holder this season. She had reasons not to like him for the first two seasons, I guess, but they were just so great together this season and it really felt like they cared about each other. Also, Holder/Bullet and Linden/Seward had nice relationships too. Both started out kinda antagonistic, I think, but they worried about each other in the end. Too late for both of them. I thought that was the right thing to do for the show. It didn't feel like the writers thought "Oh umm we should kill someone for emotional impact, all the cool kids are doing it these days". Both of their deaths made sense. It would've been stupid if they found a reason to delay Seward's execution out of nowhere, and there was no reason the killer would let someone live to reveal his identity.

So uh I don't care too much if they do a season 4, but it could be interesting to see how Linden might be feeling emotionally after the ending. I'll watch a season 4 if they do it, but I won't really miss it if they don't.

I thought Skinner was a weird killer just because he wasn't very important. At least Jamie/Terry were in basically every episode. I forgot Skinner was a character until he become more important near the end.

Anyway.

I was sort of indifferent on the whole Seward thing. I get why it was there, and I even understand why the prison guards had storylines, even though they were basically unrelated. I just didn't really care that much about Seward until basically his last episode.

The characters were way better. Maybe because there wasn't a hassling political element, but even the side characters were better flushed out. I'm rooting for Kinnaman and Seimetz to get Emmy nods, but Enos and Saarsgard are more likely.

I thought the last however many episode were actually pretty great. I'd watch season 4. Although prospects for that look thin after season 2 didn't even get any Emmy nominations. Netflix might pick it up.

Yeah, I thought the same thing about Skinner being a weird choice. He could've just had a few lines each episode to make it feel like he was there, but I guess he was busy abducting people so he couldn't get in front of the camera much.

Also, I doubt Netflix would make a fourth season. I feel like they want to focus on original content. Yeah, they did AD season 4 and will probably do a season 5 or movie or whatever too, but they've been doing all these other original shows and I think they want to keep doing that. That and I don't think The Killing is popular enough. But idk.
No longer spoilers, but still a reply.

It actually did get canceled after season 2. Netflix was in talks to pick it up, so AMC swooped down and uncanceled it, under the condition that Netflix help finance it in return for getting rights to the third season like three months after it airs on TV. So they kind of already did pick it up. I don't think it's very farfetched.

Well that hurt.
I just watched the finale of Buffy with a friend, so I guess I'll start with Buffy. Unfortunately, one of the first things I knew about Buffy the Vampire Slayer was that someone named Anya dies in the last episode. That was terribly upsetting. As for Spike... Not really sad. He was happy. Anyway umm this season wasn't as good as the others but like usual I don't see why so many people seem to hate it. I hated Kennedy, but other than that the season was mostly enjoyable. Just painful, but every season except the first (teehee) was, so... yeah. Speaking of The First, my friend and I couldn't tell if it was defeated. Sure, its army was crushed so it wouldn't be able to physically do anything, but I don't remember anything that implied The First was dead. If the seal has to be intact for The First to talk to people, then I missed that, but my friend said that he thinks the seal was basically just a magic door. But uh I guess it could make sense if The First lived, 'cause they said it is evil, and they probably didn't just destroy evil. Anyway. Sad.

As for Angel, umm, I didn't like season 4. I hated what they did to Cordelia (I know it wasn't really her, but I liked Cordelia and didn't like that they did that weird stuff with her). And I didn't mind Connor too much before, but I really didn't like him this season. I thought the ending was sad anyway, though. I guess it was the only way Connor could have a happy life. And uh the Wolfram & Hart stuff was kinda weird at the end but I guess it'll let them do bigger things in season 5 so that's cool. So uh yeah excited for this last season.
EDIT: Oh and umm I started season 2 of 24 so I'm like halfway through that. It doesn't feel as addicting as the first season, and Kim is terribly stupid, but I'm enjoying most of it. Also started Star Trek: The Next Generation and The X-Files so I'll just watch those whenever, I think.
The First was simply defeated, but it is not dead. Because how can you kill evil.
Also, I miss Anya. Like, a lot.
Different country, dude.

My first semester started at the end of May/start of June then ends at September, second semester ends at December, then final semester starts at January, ends at March or April.

EDIT: Or we use trimesters. Learned that just now.

I figured all countries were at least similarly scheduled. So that study abroad coordinates and whatnot.

Finished season 2 of 24. I liked the beginning and end, but didn't like some stuff in the middle (especially Kim). I'm not really motivated to watch it anymore because I've read that season 2 is the best season and there was just a big chunk of the season where I didn't care what happened in the next episode.

Rough outline/order of stuff I'm going to watch next:

The Wire season 2 (yeah I started a while ago but I'm going to finish it for realz now) --> Angel season 5 -- > the rest of The Wire --> Twin Peaks --> Mad Men --> The West Wing

Also continuing to watch The X-Files and TNG just whenever, really. They're both somewhat lengthy.
