I signed up for Netflix earlier this week to try it out for a month, and it's really nice. I think I'll subscribe to it. One thing that really made me happy is that both me and Monica can stream at the same time with any of our devices. Now that we both have tablets, Netflix is going to be a really nice platform, plus it's only 40 kroners a month (if we pay 50/50), cheap! So yeah, enough about that crap, I watched an episode of "Modern Family", and I laughed a lot. Definitely going to watch more of this show. I'm a big fan of sitcoms, and this one seems really funny. |

My wife has started watching that. From what she's told me, it sounds like something I'd enjoy so I should prolly give it a shot. I've started watching 'Parks and Recreation'. At this point I'm still early in the second season. It's amusing but I don't love it. |

You should definitely give it a go. It's honestly one of the funniest shows I've seen in a while. |

Just finished Sherlock Season 3. Not gonna comment too much due to spoilers but I feel that while it wasn't as good as Season 2, it was still fantastic. The final episode was a liiittle hard to follow but I really enjoyed the season regardless. It has a good climax, the first episode is one of the best in the series and the second episode is a nice change of pace. |

Though I have not seen episode 3 yet, I can confirm that episode 1 is brilliant and a very nice tribute to the fanbase, and episode 2 was way better than the other seasons' episode 2s. Amanda Abbington is just delightful. |

Yeah, Episode 2 always tended to be the weakest but this one is really great. Episode 3 just wasn't as awesome as the other two finales were which kinda let it down I think. Still fantastic, though. |

Umm, I finished Twin Peaks. Don't have a lot of time to post a ton about it now (and I probably won't anyway), but dang, the last fifteen minutes or so were weird. I liked the show. It definitely has the most unique characters I've ever seen. The plot was mostly good except for the middle-ish of season two, IMO. Anyway yeah gotta go but I might post more tomorrow. Most likely I'll just post stuff after I watch Fire Walk With Me, though. |

OH MY GOD I STILL HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE. Honestly, I always forget it exists. Yeah, middle of S2 is so 'wat' that I can't justify it. Blame CBS for making them reveal the murderer before the season was even halfway over. |

I kind of want to watch Sherlock, although there are only three EPISODES on Netflix, which is lame. I might watch them and then pirate that shit later on. I recently started watching "Modern Family" and "Dag". Both are sitcoms without a laughtrack/live audience, which is quite nice. "Modern Family" might just be the funniest show I've ever seen, and "Dag" is a really cool Norwegian show, one of the better ones, along with some great acting by the main character Atle Antonsen (he's awesome 10/10 times). I'm pretty sure "Dag" isn't on the American Netflix, although "Modern Family" likely is, and I highly recommend that you give it a look, it's amazing. It's up there with stuff like The IT Crowd. |

There's six. Because there are only two seasons, each with three episodes. (well, now there's a third, but you know what I mean). |

NOT ON THE NORWEGIAN NETFLIX And lolwut, only three episodes per season? That's odd. :P I guess I'll watch the show then, since it's so short. Edited by Granskjegg, Jan 13 2014, 01:55 PM.

Also each episode is 1 hour and 30 minutes long and it's prolly like that cuz of production costs or something. Btw, I just started watching Sherlock. |

Also, lots of BBC serials are like that. Luther only has 6 per series, Wallander has 3, etc. It's just how they do things I guess. |

Watched the first double-length episode of Helix tonight. It premiered Friday night on Syfy. I think it has potential, but I don't feel much of a sense of urgency yet... TL;DW -- oh no there's a virus in Antarctica. The main cast is a group of CDC people, plus the head of the Antarctic research facility, or something like that. So this virus. They don't know much about it yet, but apparently there are two strains of it. One seems to just kill. It liquefies the victim's insides and, well, they die. The other... it's not exactly a zombie virus, but it's close. My immediate reaction to that was "urgh". Not because zombies, but because a zombie outbreak in a facility with ~100 people where the ~95 are fully capable of suppressing the threat just doesn't sound that exciting to watch. I don't know if they'll start calling them zombies, but these are different. Their blood still turns black (their veins are noticeably black under their skin), but they don't die. Right now the characters have decided that this virus "rewires" the victim's brain so they become a "perfect contagion machine". They've decided it's not airborne, but based on the way the last episode ended, it looks like the virus spreads... orally. Spoilers, but at the end of the second half of this two-parter, one of the infected grabbed someone and appeared to be vomiting into someone else's mouth. The camera panned away, but that's what it sounded like. Their mouths definitely made contact. That makes infection even more difficult. You can't get carelessly bitten in a leg. Right now, the viral threat seems pretty minuscule, but luckily that's not the only threat. I happen to love juicy sci-fi government conspiracies. Stargate had a bit, but my main source of conspiracies now comes from The X-Files. I might be able to add Helix to that. I think they could have been more subtle about it, but right now there are some interesting things... First, the Antarctic boss leader man said the CDC crew had unrestricted access, but whaddya know, they're restricted from a room. One of the CDC women, seeing that this Antarctic facility only had rats, asked where the monkeys were. She was told there were no monkeys. But hey, another CDC lady found monkeys... in the room they were restricted from (they broke in). Also, they were severely-mutated and attacked her. There are a couple other things, but I'm not going to do a complete plot summary. Anyway, now that we got the two big threats IMO (virus and conspiracy), I'll talk about other things. First, the show is giving me an Alien kinda vibe. The first one. Sleek, clean, sci-fi setting that's suddenly disturbed by something that's trying to kill people. And hey, some of these infected people crawl in the air vents! They have a bit too many people for it to really work like Alien, but everyone's pretty spread out, so it could work. The characters are alright. I don't really know all their names but most of them felt likable at least once in these first two eps. I doubt anyone else here is watching but so far it seem significantly better than Syfy's $100M Defiance show/game combo. Oh, and someone said "frak" once. I haven't heard that since the other time I watched a Ron D. Moore Syfy show! EDIT: Dang, I wrote more than I thought. That's just because of the plot stuff, though. I didn't say much for Twin Peaks' plot because it'd be hard without spoiling and I think those of you who are interested have already seen it, anyway. Also, I kept thinking about TP's ending. I've heard people say it was the best. I didn't think so immediately after finishing it, but I've kept thinking about it and it really is perfect. Edited by Snowman, Jan 13 2014, 11:15 PM.
