Oh. I forgot, twice, to post what my current TV plans are. Umm, I have three eps left in TNG season 1 so I'll probably just finish that and then stop for a while. Season 1's not good and I hear season 2's not much different... Will still continue to watch TXF whenever. My "main" show next will be Mad Men. Probz gonna watch an episode a day until the season premiere (79 eps, 89 days starting tomorrow). I'm sure I'll watch more than one some days, but I want to leave plenty of time for reading... I'm srsly gonna finish A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons for realz now.

As for currently on-the-air shows... I might watch True Detective. Got that HBO Go so if I hear it's good I might catch up for the S1 finale. Two eps left of Sleepy Hollow (one tonight) and that's gonna be good. Arrow returns Wednesday, so this season's Big Bad stuff should pick up now that they're halfway through. Cool. Mentioned Helix above. And this Sunday I'll be watching Sherlock. Yay.

SEASON ONE FINALE OF SLEEPY HOLLOW. AH. This show is awesome. I'm not good at going in-depth with things so this is just me dumping unorganized thoughts out, but basically, it feels a lot like what Buffy would be with black people. Also, not in school. But it has everything else -- Prophecies! Witches! Big Bads! Funniness! An old (okay well I mean it's because he was dead for two centuries) British guy (but he was fighting for American independence so he would have been American if he lived)! Books about demons! Feels of the joyful and tragic varieties! Monsters every week! The Chosen Two! A villain named Moloch! Okay, most of those things don't really mean anything 'cause you can just stick them in anywhere and it can suck. But anyway. The only important comparison to Buffy is that the show is hella fun to watch and is able to get serious when it wants to despite having a silly premise. So I know I'd recommend it to Darkie and Mac, but I don't know anyone else who has watched anything similar (except Supernatural but I haven't seen it so I dunno).

While I'm on the topic of suggesting things, please watch Orphan Black, everyone (this one applies to everyone). Thanks.

And uh I'm not done with TNG season one yet (two eps) but it's just generally bad so I'm not gonna bother saying anything lengthy about it yet. There was one big event in the first season (a death) and I thought that episode was mostly good, and there might be a couple others scattered around, but it's mostly bad.

Maybe one day I'll watch it. From what I've heard it sounds kinda silly and over the top though.

Speaking of Supernatural, this season is finally starting to get better. The first episode of season 9 was really great, but then the rest felt pretty eh. The midseason finale was kinda cool, but it felt really weird. Like everyone was out of character. I dunno. It bugged me. However, since it's come back, these past two episodes have both been stellar. But of course we get another "sammy and dean had a fight and are splitting AGAIN" plot, but this time it seems like their separate journeys are mildly interesting.

While I'm on the subject of CW, Arrow is still cool.

Indeed. It's starting to be... super.

I started watching "Orange is the New Black" last night, and it's a really cool show. I like the story so far, although I'm only two episodes in. The show seems like a very realistic depiction of a correctional facility, I obviously wouldn't know what it's actually like, but it seems very authentic.
I would definitely recommend giving it a go if you want to watch a new show.

Oh, and there's quite a bit of nudity in the first episode, so yeah, keep that in mind if that's an issue. :P

I just finished the first season of "Orange is the New Black". Damn, it's a pretty intense show. The characters are all pretty diverse and interesting. As I said in the previous post about it, check this out if you have Netflix and want to watch a good drama (with some comedy elements here and there).

Definitely excited for the second season!

I also finished the third season of "Modern Family". Modern Family is easily the funniest show I have ever seen. I can't get enough!

FINISHED SOME SEASONS. Gonna try not to write a lot because I have stuff to do.

Archer (season 2) -- A helluva lot better than season one, in my opinion. Krieger is still da best. I usually liked Cyril in the first season, but now I really don't. My favorites right now are probably Krieger, Pam, and Cheryl. I haven't heard who dies in season 5 but I hope it's not any of them unless they become super unlikable.

The X-Files (season 2) -- THE PLOT THICKENS. The first season was great, in my opinion, but this one's greater. Before I started the show, I knew the show was known for having really good "Monster of the Week" episodes, but I wasn't so sure I'd like them just because I usually don't like stuff that lasts only one week/episode when the seasons have more than 20 episodes. Shorter seasons might have this kinda stuff too, but because of the shorter seasons, they usually build on each other more than these long seasons. But these MotW episodes are just so enjoyable to watch (most of the time) that it's awesome all the time (most of the time). Each "Monster" or whatever (not necessarily a monster) is just so unique compared to other "x of the Week" shows I've seen and it's not always about "how do we kill it". And then THE CONSPIRACIES on top of that. Those make the eps even better for now (they're usually spread out though) but I hear it gets super convoluted later but that doesn't matter now.

Sherlock (season 3) -- HMM. I don't know. It was definitely different from the first two seasons. I felt like they gave more attention to the characters, which I liked, but... Most of the time, that just meant more attention to Sherlock.

Don't wanna worry about dancing around spoilers for Sherlock season 3.

I just finished the first episode of Sherlock, and god damn, this show is awesome! I was a bit wary about its length, but I enjoy every second. The writing and acting is just so fun and intriguing. Looking forward to watch moar!

Late as hell response to spoilers

I think Sherlock is extraordinarily clever. The first and third episodes of each series are absolutely great but the second episodes, which tend to have little connection to the rest, are more experimental and harder to follow.

I'll try to keep that in mind when watching the second episode and not be turned off. There's only one season of Sherlock on the Norwegian Netflix, but I hope to just be able to stream from the UK Netflix (assuming it has the second season) and then just pirate the last bit. :P

Mad Men (Seasons 1-3) -- I know I haven't posted about it before, but I just finished season 3 and since that means I'm halfway done catching up, I thought I'd post. This show has probably mixed up my feelings more often than anything else I've seen so far. There's just a lot of occasions where something happens and I feel happy for one reason and upset for another reason at the same time. I have to smile almost every time I see Peggy, though <3. And obviously, this show has given me a better idea of what the 60s were like, which I appreciate. During the ep with the JFK assassination, I got goosebumps. I obviously wasn't alive then, and I don't know anyone who's talked about it from a personal perspective. I guess I've just heard of it described as a haunting experience so much that "actually" seeing people react to it felt somewhat frightening. On a happier note, the historical perspective also helps me appreciate other things I've seen/read from the 60s, so I like that. Sure, I'd heard it was a big deal that Star Trek's cast had two Jews, a gay Asian, and a black woman, but seeing how these people were treated in the 60s helps to cement why that was such a big deal. Same with anything else like that from the 60s, but I'm me so I used Star Trek as an example.

Archer (Season 3) -- I still hate Cyril. Still love Krieger, Pam, Cheryl. I'm not sure I have anything to say about season 3 that's different from season 2, though... I guess there were some more story arcs this time, which I liked.

As for things currently on-the-air, TWD season 4 might be my favorite so far. There have only been one or two episodes that I really didn't like. This season seems to be the most consistent in quality, except for maybe season 1. Excited for some comic things that LAD and I know about. Arrow season 2 continues to be awesome as well and they keep throwing in all this comic stuff and it's just so much fun unlike a certain Agents of SHIELD. I do think AoS has been getting better very gradually, and I'm hoping the crossover stuff with Cap 2 will help, but the show is still a disappointment for now. Helix, on the other hand, has been a pleasant surprise. I'm still not sure I'd go out and recommend it to anyone who didn't already have an interest in it, but overall it's been better than I expected. There are a couple big problems (they killed my favorite character pretty early on, and another character just seems borked) but I enjoy it and it seems to be getting better. Bates Motel season 2 just started last week (second ep is airing AS I TYPE THIS but I'm not watching right now) and uh not much to say so far, but I'm hoping for more crazy people this season and less of some of the marijuana farm stuff because it just seems completely irrelevant except for one relatively unimportant event.

Next up, seasons 4-6 of Mad Men, seasons 4 and 5 of Archer, and quite possibly, True Detective, House of Cards, and Orange is the New Black. Probably in that order. Continuing the on-the-air shows I mentioned above, obviously. And then April will give us Mad Men, Game of Thrones, ORPHAN BLACK, and uh idk I might try Turn, I guess.

Guuuuuys, you should all post once in a while too.

Helix (Season 1) -- I wasn't sure what to expect from this show. I was excited because Battlestar Galactica's Ronald D. Moore made it. BUT, it's also a Syfy show, and they haven't had many great shows recently. So sometimes this show was bad, as I thought it might be, and sometimes it was decent. This is another one of those things I'd only really recommend if you ever thought you might check it out anyway. There's just a few things that don't make sense with the show, and some are spoilery, but one thing I don't like is how often the relationship drama stuff comes up. I get that it's a TV show, but if you're in danger or trying to hide from people chasing you or whatever, YOU DON'T STOP TO HAVE SEX. Also, by the last few eps, the show seemed to forget about the zombie-like "vectors". Spoilers: Yes, they made a cure, but it seems highly unlikely that they'd be able to cure EVERYONE. Anyway, it looks like next season will have a more global focus, which could be interesting. I don't know how they'll handle the kidnapping-children-for-scientific-experiments-in-Antarctica part if they're not in Antarctica anymore, but it looks like the show is going to focus more on the immortal people anyway. I hope they're aliens, though. That'd be cooler than some mutation thing that somehow lets them live for thousands of years.

Mad Men (seasons 4-6) -- Yay, I'm caught up, less than 12 hours before season 7. Season 4 da best, Peggy da best, etc. Looks like a lot's gonna happen between seasons 6 and 7, so I'm looking forward to it.

The Walking Dead (season 4) -- I forgot I didn't post about this. WELL, I thought it was the best season so far. The first half felt like "yeeeah, season 3 left us in a bad spot, let's hurry up and fix that" and then the second half was great. Abraham's group is everything I could have wanted (well, Abraham's word choice isn't what I hoped for, but eh). Terminus looks like it'll be an interesting blend of the comics' Hunters and the game's dairy farm, and I'm glad they took their time getting there. The show has always done those episodes with just a few characters really well, and separating them gave us a bunch of those. Now I'll care when someone dies, unlike how the comics have been recently, where they'll introduce a character and they're just kinda there for a while and then die. I just hope Terminus doesn't drag out too long. It'll be good for a few episodes, but not the whole first half of the season.

Next up: I'm going to watch some shorter shows (1 or 2 seasons) so they're less distracting from whatever I want to read. I think I'll watch True Detective, Orange is the New Black, and House of Cards in that order, mixed with scattered episodes of TNG/TXF. I'll probably switch to TXF full time after HoC, though.

Watching Buffy. I'm a little bit into the third season and got a chart to know when to coordinate it with Angel next season. Really enjoying it, though kinda pissed that I'm pretty sure that Angel and Buffy don't end up together despite 3 seasons of their relationship.
